[quote author=Temas post=60002088]Good day.. my situation is different. Wiffey is yet to get international passport. We have been married since 2016 ( no official change of name yet) I am concern on which name to use on her passport. Except for marriage certificates( ikoyi registry) all other documents carries her maiden name.

Hi, your wife can use either name, it doesn't matter to cic. Just let her use whichever surname she is comfortable with on her int'l pp.

Good morning everyone.
I just stumbled on this group by chance. My family was recently contacyed to go so our medicals aftrr waiting for almost 3 years. But my hubby is currently in yankee. I dont even know where to start from. Please advice and sugg6will be much appreciated.

Thank you.
Since your application is paper based and you have a medical request,it means your application has been approved and it's just a matter of time before you guys get your PPR which to me is adviceable you asked your hubby to return home so as to do the medical here in the country together as a family. Its worth it I think...the effort and wait!

Good morning house,
Please I would like to find out which studios around Ikeja area I can have the digital pictures as per CIC requirements taken?
Also, I can have both the digital and hard copies done at once?
Thank you.
You can go to Swift foto lab, 32 Toyin street, Ikeja. I did mine there no issues but make sure you go with a print out of the cic specification. Four copies was N1k. I'm sure they can help with the digital copies too.

For an immigrant:

Well the very 1st advice would be BRACE YOURSELF FOR THE WINTER!

Winnipeg winter gets to -40C easily, so once you get there, make sure you buy yourself a padded jacket, thick gloves and ear muffs (if you don't have a car yet).
For getting apartments: the average cost of a 1 bedroom apartment ranges from $675 pm to about $1000. Depending on what part of city you live in. Two bedrooms start from $700. You can get apartments from kijiji.ca. Also get fairly used furniture from there. You can go to the GoodWill store on Portage Avenue (google it) to buy very good affordable furniture and household items, decor etc.

Safety wise: please stay away from downtown accommodation, because walking at wee hours downtown is not advisable. There are a number of aboriginals (what we call American Indians) downtown and some of them are up to no good. So just be cautious. Make sure when you go to view an apartment, you enquire about pets allowed or not. Try to look around the neighborhood just to make sure your neighbors ain't criminals lol. grin
You can buy your groceries at Superfoods, Walmart and oriental stores for ethnic foods. I'm clueless on Naija stores as I didn't really make an effort to break into the Nigerian community because I lived on the other side of the city and work had me choked. There's an RCCG church, and they run a shuttle service for members on Sunday. If you rather a non Nigerian Pentecostal church, there's another one somewhere around IKEA. Can't remember the name for the life of me, Nigerians attend too but it's a mixed church. Most Nigerians in Winnipeg live in the proximity of the U of M. I advice try to get somewhere around there so you are amongst your people.
Buses are very regular in the city, you can actually do without a car for the first 6 months.
For work, I advice you register with agencies asap, like Pinnacle and send them your CV. And you could get any office admin role very quickly. You can continue searching for your dream job whilst you do this, so you don't run low on funds.
Bank wise, I recommend BMO. But that's me personally. Because there's always a branch around the corner. But you can go with any of the ones mentioned here.
Am I leaving anything else out? Let me know
What can you say about Ottawa,Ontario....what's the place like for (immigrant with )a family of four in terms of job prospects, rent school for young children just to mention but a few...Canadianfly,waiting to hear from you o!

Hello everybody. Please I need someone that is really informed about the express entry procedure to handle it for me. I don't mind paying. I know I can do it myself but I want someone who has been there and gotten his/her PPR to help out. Thank you
You need not pay anyone to handle it for you, whatever questions you need answers to at any stage of this Canny-PPR process I will take it upon myself to be readily available to proffer solutions God's willing. It was such a long tiring process for my family as well but with God on our side we came out victorious ...pls embrace a DO IT YOURSELF mentality and the sky will be your limit.

Hello house, please I need your help re proof of funds. My husband and I are both very entrepreneurial although he has a paid job. This means money is always going in and coming out and we also use credit facility. He has a salary account that has regular inflow from his salary but we also have a credit card tied to that account so somehow, the account never balance. There is also a loan on the account. We can put the amount we need to show into it right now but it won't cancel all the credit on it. On the other hand, he has a GT account that used to be his salary account but it has not seen a lot of credit recently. To my real question, if we put the cash we have into the GT account and then get the statement, will that fly?
We've been racking our brain on this....help us o, e jo grin . We have the money but won't it be suspicious that we are putting in bulk money all of a sudden?
The best way around this is to do a fixed deposit on the bulk of your "pof" and let an insignificant amount sit in your normal accounts (salary); meaning your will submit your FD investment certificate and (salary) statement of account. On the the whole be sure to do a letter of explanation (which doubles as cover letter to explain the salient issues in your application and especially the pof).If the credit facility you talked about is negligible and being serviced periodically, then it wouldn't be an issue, just let it lie.

Dear E-family, finally received the much awaited PPR!

I can't explain my joy.
It has been a very long journey. Entered the pool January 2016 with crs of 432(I think) and got Ontario nomination and accepted because the draw score was quite high then. We submitted Ontario application January our application was finally approved December 2016(one full year). We got ITA December and submitted our application January 2017. AOR 20th January. Got ADR February, submitted and since then status has been not applicable. Ordered GCMS and realized our application was been processed in London. When we completed six months we sent a mail( thanks to greetings for the sample), we got another ADR. This time requesting for military records because my husband mistakenly ticked yes to that NYSC related question. Thanks to ugoiyke79e who responded to someone who also had same issue, we submitted copies of nysc discharge certificate, nysc call up letter and a letter of recommendation from one of officer in charge of the military school (because he served as a teacher in the military school) and a LOE explaining our mistake and stating he didn't serve in military. After submitting, we sent another mail telling them we have submitted the documents they requested for and this afternoon, my husband got a mail for him to check his box and behold, PPR.
I thank God it all ended in praise.
This thread has been so informative and I thank everyone for their contributions. It is very very important to read as you will get answers even before you ask.

Like to acknowledge some people for their good work here. JesusDway, duppysho, vcole, zandora, 40manlappy, boldinc, ehrnie, mummyjaygirls(funny woman) and all others too numerous to mention. God bless you all.

PS. The PPR mail didn't indicate where to send passports to, is it strictly Accra? Am I to print the imm form and send alongside the passports?
Nique! Nique!,Nique! how many times I call u? Congratulations o! U n maplecity just go dey happy now...congrats once again!

Hello House
Please I need an advice on this. Initially when I submitted my application, I didn't pay for right of permanent resident, now that have passed medicals, is it still possible to pay for it or i should just wait till it is asked for? July Aor
Yea,it's advice able you pay it: See http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/fees/imm/rprf.asp

Payment of the RPRF will be required before issuance of the permanent resident visa for applications processed at visa offices or the permanent resident record for applicants in Canada. Each contact with the applicant should include a reminder that the RPRF is required, and that the visa will not be issued or the client will not become a permanent resident, as the case may be, until payment is received. It should also be emphasized that early payment of the RPRF will avoid delays in finalizing the processing of the application for those classes where it is appropriate, such as priority family class cases. Other cases, such as family class sponsorships of parents and grandparents, where the processing time is known to be long, RPRF instructions specify that the client should wait to pay RPRF until contacted by CIC.

Although concerted efforts will be made to solicit payment at the early stages of processing, CIC must accept payment of the RPRF whenever it is submitted. This is a requirement of the Financial Administration Act. CIC also has no authority to refuse to refund the RPRF upon request of a client who has paid up front or at any time before the RPRF is due for visa issuance/permanent residence status. This is a change to the past policy that RPRF payments already submitted for applications in process will not be refunded, unless the application is refused or withdrawn, or does not result in permanent residence status being granted.

Should a client complete all other documentary and regulatory requirements for acquiring permanent resident status but fail to pay the RPRF and complete the acquisition of permanent residence process, there is no legal basis for closing the file or regarding it as abandoned.

How to pay the fee - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/result.asp?countrySelect=&lob=eepr

It's PPR!!!!! This journey that started last year has come to an end with victory!!!

Started with IELTS February 2016 and then waited till I was done with msc in order to evaluate with WES. Done with WES September. Dear husband who's the PA had to write another IELTS in December cos we were trying to increase our CRS scores. Writing was 6.5 so didn't cut it. He wrote a third IELTS in February and again, writing was 6.5. We were getting depressed at this point so we requested for a remark and registered for a forth ielts. Remark came through in four weeks and writing was increased to 7.5!!

ITA came in April next day after ielts remark so my timeline :

AOR - April 30th
Medicals passed - June 21
Ip1 - June 22
Ip2- July 19
PPR - July 24th

Sorry for the long post guys but for those still stuck in this IELTS hurdle, pls don't give up and don't relent. Just keep pressing on and you shall smile at the end.
Congratulations !!!!

[quote author=Ajujuju2 post=58772016]Morning NL family. So for a while now iv kinda wondered what could cause delays. Esp for me. Im still on IP1 after 12 days especially when people move to NA almost immediately or in 4-5 days (even though longer durations are not unusual). So anyways i found this. And though it may noy be the case for everyone it may help your worries and also guide future applicants.
@babby84 take note. (I hope i'm correct; you were asking about FBI PCC right? )
@onlineise/@mummyjaygirls hafa... Gotten NA1 after IP1

PLEASE THIS IS ON D ASSUMPTION THAT THE TIMELINES ARE IN THE FOLLOWING SEQUENCE
** ITA
** AOR
** M.P (1mnth frm AOR)
** IP1 (Same day as M.P or 1/2days)
** NA1 (4-5 days after IP1)
** IP2 (2-4 wks after NA1)
** NA2 (1-5days after NA; sometimes skipped)
** PPR (2-7 days after IP2)
** COPR (2-6weeks after PPR)
Please this is my observation o! Contrary observations are welcomed in respectful tone. ............. ........... We shouldn't dwell on speculations. This whole thing of IP1 and IP2 is based on changes to status and people ASSUMING that this could be a specific thing. None of those have been corroborated. I would rather rely on GCMS notes. Although, and status update is a good news. However, if one wants want to keep checking your MyCIC a few times a day and keep a track of when one's stats changes to IP and then back to NA, before finally going to IP again, one can do so but the best way to have a true picture of what happens with (our) application(s) is through GCMS notes.
As regards (your) status message for documents, it doesn't state much except what it says. However, one should be more interested in which stage one's application is in. Completeness - Criminality - Eligibility and BGC. This is the fundamental stages that every application passes through...which are all captured in ordered GCMS notes.

LordSebastian:
Not sure if the IP1 comes before MP for anyone as your sequence suggests. Just an observation...in respectful tone grin
The best way to get a true picture of your application as well as track it is to request for your GCMS notes. It gives you the events and all the process your application passes through from the very first day it was submitted .
