Moderators please bear with us this is not a sales pitch per se but information other NL'ers might find useful We at Omafones have had a large number of requests regarding the new iPhone 4G, these are our own 2 kobo thoughts; The Iphone 4G released in US & UK are locked to participating networks, any phone brought to Nigeria will have to be 'software unlocked' those of you who experienced problems with their 3Gs software unlocked phones will know how unpleasant this can be. (after spending so much money) We always advise that Apple iphone from 3G (with new upgraded OS), all 3Gs and most likely the new 4G should always purchased 'factory unlocked' . Bona-fide Nigerian suppliers such as Slot, Smartbuy and even our humble selves Omafones know where we legitimately get our 'factory unlocked' iPhones, I would recommend customers wait until these are out before rushing to buy, if at all available or thinking of getting your brother to send you one from the States. 'Early adoptors' some of us are early adoptors and will readily snap up the latest gadgets, bugs and all before it is truly tested. You might wish to exercise some patience before rushing out to get the new 4G iPhone unless of course you main object is 'effeezy' then whether the phone works well or not is of little consequence; at least your guys would have seen you with the latest iPhone 4G !! abi? |
have you sent an email to info@omagames.com, we do sell on special order. Have a deal for your right now. |
@anthonAK please see feed from another forum on your direct issues Yup, your UK power supply will plug straight in to your US Xbox 360 and it'll work fine. DO NOT mix and match though, i.e. don't use the US black box with the UK lead, or nasty things will happen UK black box + UK lead with the US 360 is fine though. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last edited by HumanEnergy : 30-04-2008 at 07:33 PM. The US model has two black "teeth" like things (that can be moved by depressing the buttons on either side of the connector) between the 6 golden connectors, the Uk model just has one solid black bit of plastic between the golden connectors and this stops it from being inserted into the US machine. I'd post a pic but don't have my camera with me right now. Looks like I'll have to go for a stepdown convertor and use it in tandem with the US power supply. Any suggestions on which one to use? TerraEx View Public Profile Find More Posts by TerraEx 07-05-2008, 06:13 PM #13 tom-nook have you seen lucky? There are 2 basic versions of the 360 (Zephyr & Falcon): - Zephyr units come with a 203w power brick - Falcon units come with a 175w power brick A Falcon 360 will happily run using either a 175 or 203w brick but a Zephyr will only work with a 203w brick. Using a 175w brick with a Zephyr would damage the console so Micrsoft changed the connector to physically prevent it (the problem you have). It sounds like your US 360 is a Zephyr unit whereas your UK 360 is a Falcon. You can double check this by looking at the barcode on the side of the console box (if you see 175w it's a Falcon / 203w and it's a Zephyr). If you don't have the box check the manufacture date on the back of the consoles (anything after approx. 08/2007 is likely a Falcon, anything earlier is likely to be a Zephyr). If that's the case then your best best would be to by an older (203w) UK power brick to run your US 360. It's a neater and cheaper solution than buying a step-down. Hope this makes sense!! |
Yes, N12k, free delivery to Port Harcourt email info@omagames.com Genuine Microsoft Xbox 360 Power Brick with cable 203W, UK power source so work in Nigeria
|
Our Xbox 360 are UK spec, so same power usuage as Nigeria 220 -240 v three pin, they are PAL so cannot use NTSC games. Delivery to Port Harcourt is within 7 working days. Always recomend using surge protector (UPS) for anything electrical in Nigeria |
it should work with a ordinary universal adapter you can buy in most airports (three pin 240v is Nigeria standard), just be mindful of fluctating NEPA power surges, so best you use a surge protector as with other electrical equipment in Nigeria |
@ AnthonyAK easy on the accusations; the Xbox 36 elite 250gb in Canada is $399 see the link http://www.xbox.com/en-ca/community/news/2009/1201-xbox360elitespecial.htm so our naira price considering importation costs are reasonable. So please get your comparisms right. please note there are much cheaper models of the Xbox 360 such as the Arcade (which we sell for the equivalent of $200) with almost no hard drive. www.omagames.com is here to serve. |
If you want a brand new Xbox console bundled with final fantasy XIII or other deals contact info@omames.com or go to our website www.omagames.com Buy wth confidence includes intenational manufacturer warranty |
Hi poster, the 3Gs can be unlocked but in very few places and this will be a 'software' unlock which means it is very likely to become locked again, if the battery ever drains or there is any upgrade. I suggest you buy a 'factory unlocked' 3Gs or use an ordinary 3G below 3.2.2 O/S. A factory unlocked 3Gs will cost at least N130k. You will be able to use your iPhone in Nigeria to it's full extent including downloading itunes and apps. www.omafones.com www.omagames.com can supply factory unlocked phones as well as itune top up cards denominated in USD or £ sterling, you pay in Naira. Network providers well it really is a toss up between all 4 GSM providers, I suggest you go in to their shops when in Nigeria and attempt to negotiate 'post paid' also known as 'contract' packages as you get your best prices here as opposed to 'pre-pay' or top-up cards. hope this helps a bit. |
Thank you for the endorsements, much appreciated. Nairalanders & gamers please visit www.omagames.com or email info@omagames.com We look forward to hearing your comments, suggestions and orders. |
Thank you cyberpsi, echowords please send an email to info@omagames.com with your enquiry |
Cyberpsi, please send us an email at info@omagames.com, so we can arrange delivery |
@9jaganja thanks again for the taking the time to respond. Am just trying to ascertain the PSN prepay card bought in UK will actually work in Nigeria to negate the issue of credit cards and the like. I have previously supplied Xbox Live cards to users in Nigeria and there hasn't been a problem. regards I'll continue my investigation, @cyberpsi If you'll still interested I can send you a card and you can let us know if it works. |
@9jaganja Thanks for the feedback, very enlightening, but just to be clear if one buys a PSN card from any shop in UK and that card be used to top up on the PSN network in another country. Everybody I have spoken to and all literature say no, it can't be used. I emphasise the PSN Card - ie the prepay card that can be bought over the counter at any store. |
@9jaganja please help me clarify, am I right on presuming that your console would be US region (NTSC) and as such the PSN purchased would also be US spec as opposed to any other region? |
@cyberpsi, 9jaganja is part RIGHT, PSN are 'region coded' Nigeria as well with most of Africa does not have a region, to get a PSN card you need to know the region of your console, we at Omagames supply UK PAL system PS3 consoles. Please check your console and find out the region, it should on the packaging as well as the body of the console. Some of the regions are US, Japan, Europe, UK - I don't know if Middle East (where many of PS3 consoles in Nigeria come from) has a seperate region. Once you are sure of your region you then get a card from the relevant region. PLEASE NOTE for the avoidance of doubt Omagames is not here to collect ANY details, we are here to just give you are 'card'. For the record the 'card' is a simply scratch card like a regular top up card, but knowing Oyibo they 'over package' it in a DVD type case perhaps to justify the high costs. Happy gaming |
Pretty easy really £20 card will cost N5500 if you want us to text or email the number to you, if you physically want the card it will be N6500 for delivery. We have a delay on deliveries because of the flight ban in Europe, we hope our goods will leave this weekend to arrive Nigeria next Wednesday - but that is just hoping. I trust you have our email address, if not please send an email to info@omagames.com thank you |
If you are in Lagos go to our bank and ask the bank manager, with respect how much is PSN network card £20,I can buy a card tomorrow scratch the number and text it you, email you or send you the card. We do over N100's of goods every week, Xbox live & PSN are just an additional service we provide at little or no profit to ourselves. I obviously can't force you to accept us a genuine, but weigh up the risk. if you want a PSN number send me an email |
@cyberpsi, we willl get for you, omagames |
@cyberpsi - we regulary sell phones/laptops of over N100k(each) daily, if we are running with peoples money we would'nt last long. Our face is all over facebook with our own personal details for you to check us out. We pride ourselves of bringing a revolutionary service to Nigeria. We are hoping very soon to be able to accept online payments (our bank is finalising the technology). All our consoles are brand new with manufacturers warranty, any problem with a console we collect it from you, to return to manaufacturer for repair or replacement. Satisfied customers are what make any business, not the arrogance of the proprietor. As they say a trial will convince you. www.omagames.com |
Our dear customer, Adebosun am sure you've heard the saying the 'customer is always right' that's what we believe in. We can't start beef with potential customers. Please continue to visit our site and if theres anything we're missing and things you feel we can improve (including price) just drop us a line. Please note all our stock is brand new and warrantied, we provide free delivery all over Nigeria, we are also aware we might be a bit more expensive than some others on nairaland as many of these sellers tend to be individuals selling one or two items they have accumulated, got from friends, etc. But thanks for your big up and we look forward to hearing from you. |
@Adebosun, we no vex oh! all na market, please continue to look, we always updating prices, by the way not able to see anything for sale on gnn.ng.com, are we looking in the wrong place? |
Thank you Adebosun for encouraging the free market, whlst we might disagree with you regarding price at least you have not suggested that we are scammers only that are prices are 'too high' according to you. We thank God Nigeria is a relatively free market and everyone is allowed to buy & sell, there are no cartel here (at least not in this industry), we at Omagames can only suggest that 'nairalanders' check out website for current prices of games & consoles and the services we offer and make up their minds. We welcome any feedback from anyone, especially comments like Adebosun's because that's how we learn, from feedback & comments good & bad alike, we not too arrogant to accept criticism. we look forward to all your visits to our website at www.omagames.com c |
Ormania, check out www.omafones.com for the cheapest 16gb 3Gs FACTORY unlocked iphone - word of advice don't buy 'software' unlocked 3Gs. email us at info@omafones.com or call 07057080196 ask the right questions, |
Dear Poster, sorry to respond, we really should leave this to our customers but as with many things in life, there maybe general apathy which may lead to our custmers not responding or they may not have seen your post. Omagames & Omafones are NOT short term scammers looking to get a few thousand naira from unsuspecting trusting Nigerians, but rather we are here for the long term to provide a service to Nigerians that others don't provide. We respect your right to question and we can only point to the number of months we have been posting on Nairaland, check our websites, see us on Facebook, see us at naira.com - if we are scammers, we are sure bold to show our faces in public. We look forward to hearing from you and as the old saying goes, a trial will convince you, |
