If he actually apologised to her personally then thats commendable but Oshiomhole must stop justifying his action by claiming the widow indulged in street trading, She didnt. It doesnt matter if she's been made to admit doing some kind of wrong to trigger the Governors wrath but its evident She wasnt trading but only waiting for a bus to pick her wares and her supposed crime was keeping her goods at the side of the road which clearly isnt street trading. Genuine repentance can only come when we admit our mistakes wholeheartedly and seek forgiveness. Someone please tell that to Osho, the woman may be happy and better off today but we still know there's an arrogant and unrepentant tyrant in Edo state govt house. 8 Likes |

bvibesblogger: Dt Dude or wateva u are calling some1 stupid, I have some Qs 4 u, do u stay in Benin City? Do You Watch Local News? Do You Think? Now Oshiomole has been warning all dis mkt women not to sell their items on the road as it disrupt the free flow of traffic, he even went there by himself to warn them few weeks back now he went back just weeks later and saw them still doing the same thing he warned against, pls if u were in his shoes what wud u hv done? So because d woman is a widow, u will give her a pat on the back for breaking laws. I'm not saying what Oshiomole did is right, I'm just saying we are blowing this thing 2 much. He reacted the same any one of us will react wen we r angry, we say things we don't mean when we are angry and being a governor does not kill your Humanity. So u calling someone stupid, pls think properly and do your research before typing nxt time...To those of you trying to justify this callous act by further accusing an innocent widow of an offense she didnt commit I have a few questions for you. 1) What law did the Widow break? 2) Was that widow street-trading a few cartons of provisions in one of the biggest markets in Benin where provisions are sold? 3) Did you watch the video? Did you hear her try to explain she wasnt trading but waiting for a bus or cab to pick her up? 4) The woman obviously had just bought those few cartons of goods for resale at home (the market at mission road is the MAJOR market traders buy goods for resale) so where would you have had her keep her goods, on the walkway where Oshiomhole stood in the video or was she supposed to carry them all on her head? 3 Likes |

Omo_Tier1:What truth are you talking about? Do you consider yourself half as wise as millions of Nigerians that have called out the Governor over his callous action? What sort of apology did he give? An innocent woman that committed no offense had her means of livelihood forcefully taken from her while She wailed and begged and you're here spewing rubbish about a half hearted apology issued to a muslim womens group while sitting in the comfy of his office. Before you run that your mouth like a broken faucet, just have it at the back of your mind that I have praised Oshiomhole on this forum more than you think you have but all that was before I moved to Benin for a project I've been on for a couple of months now. Oshiomhole is just an AVERAGE governor being hyped because of the nonsense done by previous administrations. Read my lips, He has done ABSOLUTELY nothing spectacular. NOTHING! People like you should have your sanity tested for seeing nothing but politics in a most callous act that shames the humanity in every right thinking person. SHAME ON YOU! 1 Like |

tpia@: She kept pleading because She was innocent of what She was accused of but Governor Adolf Oshiomhole refused to even hear her out. She was accused of trading while She was only waiting for a bus/cab to move her goods. Anyone that knows mission road knows its impossible to be selling stuff like that on the road as Mission road is the major markwt provisions are sold wholesale in Benin, theres no way she could have been petty trading same stuff stocked in huge quantities in stores just behind her. She kept trying to explain She wasn't street trading but the more She did, the deafer Governor Adolf got. Thats why the poor innocent widow wept so bitterly. |

The Great zik of Africa lived to a ripe age of 92 years and most of that time, he was within these shores was'nt he? Anthony enahoro died at 87 - 89 and I'm sure the likes of Ahmadu Bello and Tafawa Balewa would've lived that long if it was'nt for the coup in 1966 as would Awo if it was'nt for Otapiapia (no be me talk am o) Longevity is a fnction of many factors you just cant say mandela is still live today because their hospitals are all that |
Politics / Re: Chevron To Auction Rights To 2 Nigeria Oil Blocks As It Moves Out Of Nigeria by OMAJE4: 6:47pm On Jun 12, 2013 |
These guys are only playing Nigeria and It's high time Nigeria did something about it. Shell sold off most of its onshore fields but retains ownership of one of the country's biggest offshore oil fields - Bonga, Chevron is following their lead but you can bet they want to keep another huge Oilfield - Agbami to themselves - just in case. Someone has got to call these guy's bluff and start taking the huge ones B4 they drop the little ones. Yeah I know how hard thats going to be! |
Politics / Re: If Mandela Was A Nigerian Will He Have Been Treated In A Nigerian Hospital? by OMAJE4: 6:34pm On Jun 12, 2013 |
playmode: I have been wondering about this since Monday. If Mandela was a Nigerian do you think he would have been treated in Nigeria or flown overseas.Ever since Mandela has been falling sick ,he has been treated in South African hospitals which are world class with relative success. In Nigeria our president runs to London for a common flu. What are your thoughts on this? If Nelson Mandela needed Spiritual help would he still be in SA? No he won't, they would have flown him to Naija looking for TB Joshua, Pastor Chris et al. It's called " Comparative Advantage" in economics - everybody with wetin God take bless them. They've got better hospitals and we've got better churches, what's the big deal? Meanwhile, it's high time you stopped this your obsession with everything SA it's getting really boring now. |
