TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by OmaJoe1: 9:42pm On Aug 27, 2021
Hello CHIKACIC,

Please did you book a return ticket when you booked with the airline? Is a return ticket required at the Nigerian Airport and Montreal Airport in Canada?
What could possible make the CBSA return the Asian international student apart from studentship verification with the school?

Thanks in anticipation for your response.

CHIKACIC:
Part 20! Yes oooo. It’s good to be here again and give back to the community that I gained so muccccch from. You all are part of my success story and may all PPR hopefuls keep hope alive.

Landing Gist:

23rd/24th August 2021.

I arrived at the airport around 4:30pm for my 8:30pm flight, with my hubby and big bro. Hubby went to park the vehicle, so I went into the airport with my bro. My bags (2 check in bags, 1 hand luggage and my laptop bag)

Hello Residentourist,

Have you also received your LOI and Counterfoil? How long does it take to receive LOI and Counterfoil after Visa has been stamped on passport.

Thanks.

Residentourist:
I submitted the documents at DHL office, Lekki at close of work on Thursday 10th June, On 11th which was a Friday I got a notification that it had been received in VFS Abuja. Unfortunately, Monday was a public holiday to celebrate June 12th.
I got the passport delivered to my address on Monday, 21st June 2021. In all, it took 10 days or better still 5 working days.

Good evening Nairalanders,

Is there an expiry time for visa after it has been issued? I mean is there a timeframe for one to travel after passport has be stamped and returned?

Thanks in anticipation for a response.

OCT202020:
The vaccination is done in phases, and I think July 7th was the last day for the recent batch.
I believe we should have some nairalanders in medical line ,who'll feed us with the correct info.
Thank you @OCT202020. Please house whoever that has information on how to get vaccinated with the Astrazeneca vaccine for first dose should kindly help me.

Thanks in anticipation for a response.

lawfree638:
This is true and equally not totally true. I'm sorry for using both.

It's true because an official once told me Vaccine is running low and wouldn't be a full scale till August.

However, I can categorically tell you that Vaccine is available (both first and second dose) but it's been hoarded. The playbook is knowing someone that can help, at times, it comes with a cost (the Nigeria scenario).

You can take the first dose today if you see a center that is administering such and in the next six weeks, then the second dose.
Thank you Lawfree638 for your swift response. Do you know of a center or probably someone that can help me get the first dose?

Thank you in anticipation for a response.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by OmaJoe1: 10:00am On Jul 12, 2021
Good morn]ng Nairalanders,
May God favour everyone who is expectant of PPR and medical request from IRCC.

Is it true that government approved centers NO LONGER ADMINISTER THE COVID-19 VACCINE TO THOSE WHO NEED IT? Is it true that vaccination is on hold till AUGUST? What is the shortest possible time one can get vaccinated for the first dose precisely.

Thanks in anticipation for a response.

Please Family, for those that have done their medicals in Lagos, which is better IOM or Qlife?

Pls advice needed, thanks in advance
Both are good. Just that q-life is a bit cheaper than IOM. Q-life is N40,000 while IOM is 46,500. Where do you reside or where are coming from. IOM is in the mainland while Q-life is in Island of Lagos state.

Wouldn’t know but my Airbnb apartment is shared , like we share the common areas . So personally I’d say you can.
Thank you Lianna. Is the Airbnb apartment your final destination? If not, how much did you pay for Airbnb for the remaining 11 days quarantine period?

Thanks in anticipation for your response.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by OmaJoe1: 2:35pm On Jul 10, 2021
@Linana, please after the mandatory three days quarantine at a government approved hotel, can one complete the 11 days quarantine with a family member in Canada? For instance I'm an Ontario bound traveller, and I do my three days quarantine in Montreal, is it out of order to complete my 11 days quarantine with an family member in Ontario?

Please Linana, and others, I need your response.

Thanks in anticipation for an answer.

Good day everyone here,

Congratulations to those that have received their Love Letter (PPR) so far and may the Lord favour others waiting for this milestone achievement. There is no day I don't visit NairaLand because of the insightful contents here. Just a quick question:

1. I want clarification on this Passport stamping, let me ask beforehand. How long does it take Lagos VAC to stamp and return passport after it has be delivered to them? Which is preferable Lagos or Abuja?

2. How and where can one get the Consent form to add to the Documents that is required for passport stamping?

I sense the Love Letter will show soon looking at the rate it is going.

Thanks in anticipation for an answer.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by OmaJoe1: 6:34pm On Jun 23, 2021
Thanks for your swift response. What i mean by abnormal is 145/81.

Akannitommy:
Not really. Although I would want you to state what levels you meant by abnormal so those who are medically qualified can comment, because I am not. I can't remember what my own level was back then but you can check my post in August/September 2020 for some idea.

I had a relatively higher BP when I had my medical too and still passed it. I think the most important components of your medical exam is that no indication of organ damage/issues. One way is to check the Cardiologist's report and the Serum Creatinine test result. If the HBP is not an indication of a problem with these ones or any other problem, then you are good to go.

HBP may be more common than most of us think - in Nigeria considering the stress we go through on the average - but also very dangerous if not managed. But on its own (within certain limits, I assume), it is not enough ground for medical failure/refusal in this student visa context.

These are my own personal experience and thought to share in response to your question.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by OmaJoe1: 5:09pm On Jun 23, 2021
Thanks TennieYF

TennieYF:
Lol, I don't know about BP, but my heart rate was also high during mine, they tried 3 times and it was still high (guess I was nervous). So the guy wrote it like that in red pen sef! But they still updated my medicals to pass. So I don't think it'll be an issue.
Hope this helps!

Okay, thank you for your prompt response.

Please could you share the link you used for the payment with me so I can share with a friend. How long does Lagos take to process passport stamping after it has been submitted to Lagos VSF?

Thank you in anticipation for an answer.

Tiara97:
I didn’t do biometrics in Abuja so I paid to the Canada collection account and attached a proof payment with my passport and consent form. Abuja is definitely faster, got my passport back in 6 days.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by OmaJoe1: 2:55pm On Jun 21, 2021
Please, was it Abuja you did your biometrics? If no, then how did you pay the N7430 Transmission fee to Abuja VSF to enable you do your passport stamping there?

Between Abuja and Lagos VSF with is faster for Passport stamping?
Thanks in anticipation for an answer.

Tiara97:
Hello guys, thank you so much for the well wishes and congratulations to all those that have received PPR recently.
Finally got my passport back today and the feeling is amazing. Imagine my visa was issued since 28th of May but I didn’t get PPR until 14th of June.
Anyway, I submitted my passport on the 15th June, received counterfoil 17th June and LOI 18th June, Abuja is the way! For those waiting please don’t give up, it will be worth it eventually. I’ll be back with my landing gist.
