Another wasted vote in the making. It is allowed in democracy.

Anyone that fails to understand the game of politics is on his own. Politics is like investment and that is why it is do or die but we can make it less lucrative in order to attract genuine minds that re ready to serve. I am only moved by personality not by any propaganda being spread on daily basis. I weigh the performance over the last six years and I compare it with resources on ground. Then I realized that GEJ has done nothing. That is why I'm ready to support any dependable person on ground. I looked among the candidates and the only person that the cap fit is GMB. I know that the election will be tough but let's see where the pendulum swings.
PoliticsRe: ELECTIONS 2015: Nobody Cares About The Igbos by omazus: 11:25pm On Mar 19, 2015
Good for the type of Igbo you respect. Hypocrite and you still respect all the yoruba with all their biases. I hail you my dear Yoruba people. You have a right to be bias but Igbo don't have.
BiHung:
Beautiful piece there by a thinking ibo man.

I am yoruba....but of course...i respect the ibos whenever i see one who is not biased at all.

But only few ibos are ready to see beyond ethnicity and religion. It saddens me that an ibo guy would think you can come and islamise the south east. They have even gone further to accuse Gov Rochas Okorocha..of trying to islamise them...so if they don't trust a fellow Christian..you can understand their strong resentment towards a muslim president.

APGA has only aggravated the hopes of an ibo presidency or VP by sticking to PDP for no reason/condition... All because of federal goodies (albeit for personal gains though).

On the other hand, the APC has a plan, to allow the North (through Buhari, to rule for 1 or 2 terms) after which the SouthEast would be given a chance to rule as president ... Ofcourse it would be fool hardy for a Yoruba to try to rule in 2019 or 2023.

What is needed is understanding, and that is what the APC represents. Political parties of regional strength came together (ACN, ANPP, CPC, APGA and nPDP) to form a unity party of mutual understanding, commitment and confidence...but APGA pulled out...thank God for Okorocha who stood his ground.

And until APGA or the ibos use the opportunity of the 2015 polls to show that they are solidly behind Gov.Okorocha (by voting equally for APC), i don't see how APC in 2019 or 2023 would risk giving them the platform if PDP decides to give theirs to the North.

Sharap. Do you thinkl the military were wiser than the whole Nigerians who elected Shagari for a second term two months back. We have rules. Or wasn't he corrupt to have encouraged corruption just like GEJ? If I was a senior military officer then and things are not going well, every sector bombarded by corrupt democrats,i can also take part in a bloodless coup for a well disciplined and principled dictator to take over, thats the highest level of patriotism, government is government, weather military or democracy, they both have their advantages and disadvantages, this is democracy we've been yelling about and it's not working well in Nigeria yet

PoliticsRe: Radio Biafra Is A Treasonable Entity by omazus: 8:22am On Mar 06, 2015
You are the most ignorant person on nairaland for typing this shit about Congo and applying it to not-yet formed Biafra. Congo, for your information, is the richest country on earth, natural resources wise. It is aptly called the battlefield of the West. Let me give you a tip of the iceberg. The uranium used to develop atomic bomb that was used to stop the 2nd world war was gotten from Congo. Indeed, the struggle among developed nations for nuclear supremacy is rested mainly on their capacity to secure the material for nuclear energy from the Congo. And besides this, my brother do your reserach and don't come to internet to write nonsense. And as regards Biafra, you hate these people, you call them parasite, you deport them in their country, and when they protest you talk rubbish. Now they want to form their own country so you can legitimately deport them, you say no. Now I understand, you are already jealous of foreign aid. You don't want them to get it so you want to stop them. But you must be stupid to think that Biafra needs foreign aid to survive. The truth is this, all the biggest achievements Nigeria has made on the global stage are attibuted mainly, 80% of these (modest estimation) to Igbo and Yoruba. Invariably, these two tribes carry Nigeria on their shoulders. Forget the yabbing that takes place on social media, both Igbo and Yoruba realise too well that they are the drivers of Nigeria. Check the world of science, art, industry, trade, entertainment, sports, etc. And to think that one of these two groups will collapse without other groups is to live in fool's paradise. The truth is this, other ethnic grouops are a burden to Igbos. And they know it, and it explains the hysteria to always force Igbo t stay in Nigeria. For your information, the Igbo is not opposed to a free and just Nigeria.
LoveDecay:
You don't get it do you. Its the aid money that are targeting . how much do eastern states contribute to the federation account. Bunch of .... No idea on how to run a country. Reminds me of Congo when the belgeans left.

PoliticsRe: Why Igbo's May Remain Politically Irrelevant In Nigeria by omazus: 3:58pm On Feb 26, 2015
Thanks Oladele for liking my response. If you have read what I wrote well you would have noted that I did not speak of love of Jonathan and hatred of Buhari perse. I spoke about a people's love of freedom and hatred of tyranny, a people's love of justice and hatred of injustice. These two points are where the issue mainly concern Buhari. As for your No. 4 I do not know what you mean by bad orientation of segregation and sentiment. But let history judge and I want to assume you are from the South West, between the Igbo and the Yoruba which group is known for entering into alliance with people from other zones? You are known for standing alone even to the externt that other zones made your son president against your wish. The truth is this, if Buhari becomes president, it will become the first time somebody ruled Nigeria dmocratically without majority Igbo support. And when you say APGA refused I wonder what you are telling people like Rochas and co.

But my last take is this, you people should not stop thinking of what will happen to Igbo if Buhari wins. We are big and strong enough to take care of ourselves not only in Nigeria but also anywhere in the world, that is why we are Igbo. And please do away with the taught that we are not supporting Buhari because he is Hausa and Muslim. Even the real Hausa proper know who their real friends are between the Igbo and Yoruba. But like Plato said, Socrates I love but truth I love more.
oladele97:
I like the way you defend igbo love for jonathan....but let me bring you to notice...where you have miss some point
1. Buhari aim as head of state was not to fight any tribe but to eradicate corruption.....remember he also jail Kuti
2. APC can not present Atiku as presidential candidate....cos when talking about corruption is same as james Ibori and co
3. In 2011 yoruba massively support Jonathan because we believe he will perform....but he as failed in every sector.
4. When APC want to merginalized they call on the duo of APGA and Labour party but they refuse cos igbo
have bad orientation of segregation and sentiment
PoliticsRe: Why Igbo's May Remain Politically Irrelevant In Nigeria by omazus: 7:05pm On Feb 25, 2015
The writer of this article misses the point of Igbo support for Jonathan and PDP. There are four issues involved in that support.

1. It is not about the civil war as the Igbo have in the past supported Hausa, Yoruba, Muslim. Did any candidate defeat Yaradua in any Igbo state? Indeed, no other ethnic group like IBB than the Igbo and yet he was a major fighter in the war unlike Buhari whose role was passive. The truth is that Buhari's personae is frightening to the Igbo who are damn freedom lovers. His twenty months rule is nothing to wish one's friend not to talk of oneself.

2. Buhari too is a bad politician. He had never made any serious effort to woo the Igbo. Atiku Abubakar would not have had any issue were he to have emerged.

3. Igbos feel that Jonathan is being plumeted because he is a minority and as a people with high sense of justice Igbo feel this should not be the case.

4. The manner in which APC was formed also left much to be desired. The first impression which mattered a lot was that APC was a union of Northern and Western politicians. The Igbo among them are merely tolerated. If not, why wouldn't an Igbo be made running mate to counter Goodluck's influence their. But for APC Igbo do not matter.

PoliticsRe: Does Ndigbo Have A Future With The Reasoning Of Igbo Youths Of Today?part 1 by omazus: 10:30am On Feb 23, 2015
Thank you Tunde Ajani for this. The mindset that politics is all about the winners take it all is dangerous. By your argument APC is already preparing marginalisation as food for the Igbo if Buhari wins. This is dangerous brother. What then do you tell our politicians Ngige, Onu, Rochas, Amaechi, Ezekwesili, Soludo (of recent) etc who are strong supporters of APC. You stand before these men and tell them that you are going to marginalise their people as had been the practice in the past and you think you are praising them. I'm happy that you alluded to massive work of GEJ in Yoruba land. Igbo is also witnessing same. I'm pushed to think that your dislike for GEJ is that for the first time the same massive work is being extended to Igbo territory.

But more than the massive works, Igbo support for GEJ stems from their quest for justice in our country Nigeria. When in informal setting we (Nigerians) complain about injustice in our national life, we assume that all of us, no matter our tribes, have the same meaning of justice and injustice. It is becoming clearer that people only talk of injustice in Nigeria when their own man is not on sit. The only people that have been consistent with their understanding of justice and injustice are the Igbo. The two of the three tripods upon which Nigeria stands are worried that Igbo, a major ethnic group is supporting an Ijaw, a minority. But why can't Ijaw be president? You said you would make country ungovernable for him and yet in such human contrived situation the young man is putting all his effort and yet you want him not to be supported.

I know that Ijaw (majority of them anyway) would never have supported Igbo if the table were to turn. Our experience of the civil war where tey led in the sabotage of Igbo effort is fresh in our minds. But an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind.
