Quakertellicus1: 1.Venezuela is a socialist economy that imported everything....even much of the toilet roll used in Venezuela was imported.
Nigeria, despite the mess we were in, still made most of its toilet roll...back in 2013.
2.Yes, APC is having a shambolic economic policy. But not in the way you people think.
APC is not facing the fact that we are a poor nation...and that we should set about getting industrial, instead of waiting for oil to rise again.
Which is what I am saying....but most of you here seem to think I am attacking PDP again....when really I am putting pressure on the APC government to shape up.
In my opinion, whoever takes over in 2019.....has to get us off oil. Ditto for whoever is in power now...ie the APC....by cutting waste, fighting corruption, and funding power and transport excessively, alongside technical education.
That is what I want my government to do. It appears you are new around here. Stop wasting your time trying to reason with some people. Even if their being logical is all it takes for you, say, to get a miraculous recovery from a death stroke, they'd rather you die than imagine not blaming Buhari and APC for every misery in their little lives. Just move on, your point is registered and you've made a good one. |

Izonpikin: both are the same omenka...both crooks and a failed structure are our core problems...dont exempt one and hold on to the other... I'm not exempting any. What I'm saying is crooks in positions of authority is the biggest problem. A country can succeed and attain greatness without "true federalism" but no country can succeed with criminals manning sensitive positions as we have in this country. With the crop of politicians we have today, we would still keep revolving in circles regardless of the structure of the country. |

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu yesterday told Niger Delta Coastal State monarchs and stakeholders that there was no infrastructure in the creek to show for the $40 billion released to the Niger Delta in the last 10 years.
He told the monarchs who visited him in Abuja that he (the minister) went round the creeks and found no infrastructure that reflects the money disbursed to the region through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) or the 13 per cent derivation from the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC). High time someone told these people the home truth! There goes your source of "marginalisation". I have always insisted that "true federalism" isn't Nigeria's problem, crooks in positions of authority are. |

If such a "conspiracy" was so successful a tool used to evict a sitting government, even though the likes of FFK who's responsibility it was to protect that same government knew it was a conspiracy, and yet did nothing about it, then two points were undoubtedly proven:
1. Jonathan's government must have been the most unpopular government ever in the history of humankind.
2. Jonathan indeed had the worst set of nonentities working with him- they knew what was being used to nail him yet did nothing to avert his imminent eviction. |

Politics › Re: Soyinka Urges Buhari To Dialogue With Militants- Daily Trust by omenka(m): 6:51am On Aug 26, 2016 |
My question remains; why have the terrorists suddenly become inclined to dialogue?? Didn't they say they could continue blowing things up until not a single drop of crude is exported from the region?? Didn't they swear to keep up their campaign until the economy is completely grounded?? Didn't they swear to tear down the walls of this building until Niger Delta Republic is granted them?? If my intuition serves me right, I'd wager the FG has landed a big prize in her military campaign and the cowards are jittery over the consequences of keeping up their shenanigans- shiit's most likely about to blow up in their faces. Their propaganda appears to have lost a whole lot of traction with the revelations made by the breakaway faction and the arrest of some of their members (whose membership they of course denied), but I haven't the slightest doubt in my mind the captives must have been singing more than canaries in detention. Moreso, they've lost a lot of domestic support as it is becoming all too obvious who the primary victims of their idiotic activities are- they very people they claim to be "fighting for". If the government decides to dialogue with them, fine, but the question remains- how many such groups would the government dialogue with today and in future There is an old adage that says for peace, be prepared for war. First world countries have the kind of military capabilities they do not because they desire to go to war with anyone but because they understand the essence of having such structures on ground- it is the best deterrent to trouble makers both within and outside the country. As long as we don't upgrade our security armament to meet best global standard, this vicious circle of negotiating with one ragtag group of miscreants after another would go on forever! |
