Politics › Benue Governor, Anenih, Aganga Flee Nigeria - SaharaReporters by omenka(op): 8:38am On May 29, 2015
A Nigerian minister, Segun Aganga, PDP chieftain, Tony Anenih and the Governor of Benue state, Gabriel Suswam today departed Nigeria on a British Airways flight out of the Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport apparently to avoid getting caught. The three were last seen boarding the BA flight scheduled for an 8:00am departure to London.

SaharaReporters learnt that more party officials and President Goodluck Jonathan’s aides, ministers and several appointees have either fled or planning to flee the country afraid that incoming President Muhammad Buhari will probe the administration of Mr. Jonathan and jail those found guilty of corruption. Last week, the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-madueke traveled on the same flight with Buhari to London, while on the six hour trip she made several attempt to start a conversation with Mr. Buhari, but the 72-old winner of Nigeria's presidential election known for his no-nonsense stance on corruption rebuffed all her entreaties. It is not known if she ever returned to Nigeria.

The wife of the Mr. Suswam, Yemisi, reportedly left yesterday to Houston in the US to avoid getting caught up in the sweep.

Is there any section of the law broken by his wife's absence?
Did Nigerians vote for his wife?

The dinner is a waste of money and time. I wont be suprised if they had spent N2 Billion on the useless dinner.

In my opinion, the only 2 thing worth celebrating in Nigeria right now are the fact that the wasteful regime will be over in less than one hour and that GEJ has choosen not to force himself on Nigeria by contesting the result of the election and thereby plunge the nation into chaos.

I'm very sure this foolish bigot thought his favourite meal has been served so he rushed to comment not knowing the Op wasn't even referring to the west of Nigeria but the World (US/Europe).

Orikinla:
It is 3.55am. I just woke up now after a strange dream about the new Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. He was in a church congregation with the General Overseer of our Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye ministering. Prof. Osinbajo was standing and Pastor Adeboye asked him to describe the construction of a new robot. But the inventor was not there. Prof. Osinbajo started describing how the head of the robot was made and was activated to talk. I could see it, but I did not know whether the rest of the congregation saw what I was seeing graphically as our new Vice President described how the head of the robot worked with the eyes and jaws. Then I woke up.
Hmmm. Confusing but eerie.

Before anyone goes throwing tantrums like a stark raving lunatic, propaganda is part and parcel of government. None survives nor thrives without it. Nigerians always tend to see the word "propaganda" as necessarily evil.

ramdris:
Op u left out the most would be influencer of GMB'S actions: the Nigerian masses!.

If he mess up which an sure will not happen, we will do to him far worse than we did to GEJ.

GEJ failed because he seemed to forgot that the pple on the street should be his influencer as against some "cabal" and that's why he is now an ex cos his actions was against the pple that matter most.

I pray GMB learn from that cos when we say NO!, no one else can say YES cos we speaks and act on God's behalf.

Long live Nigeria!
You beat me to this!!!

It is not the op who left it out sha. It is the writer of the article from Leadership.

Although these are mere conjectures, but I believe they are good ones. And the writer nailed it leaving the names of Obj and Tinubu out. A lot of naïve folks would mention those men as numbers 1 and 2 if asked to make such a guess. Though they would influence things, perhaps make recommendations for appointment, the final decision would always lie with Buhari himself, and I see them exerting little or no influence on the policy direction of the incoming admin.

The people love him. The gentleman indeed raised the bar on leadership and governance. Ambode can only shine if he strives to outshine Fash and book an enviable place for himself as well in history.

This is indeed a watershed moment in the history of our democratic experience. You can feel the mood of the people and see they have chosen to participate fully in government/democracy unlike the indifference and apathy we had in the past.

Gradually this sleeping giant would rise and roar again.

Goodbye Fashola.

Welcome Buhari.

Welcome Ortom. wink

What a shameful exit. Rejected by all including his own people. Yet some useless pleb went erecting a statue while others were crawling from coast to coast in his "honour".

Things are certainly not rosy between this guy and Dickson. The expulsion of 8 of his allies from the state chapter of the party is an act pregnant with meanings.
