I listened to d coordinating minister of d economy on d said day she made those coMments were made and she carefully chose her words knowing fully well that it might be mis-interpreted by some quarters which we're now facing...back to d issue on ground I also listened to d spokesman of d House of Reps 2day on d same program and all wht he was screaming was blackmail...shying away from d fact...he was even saying such issues should not be brought to public glare because its like blackmailing d reps...even when one of d political analyst on d program...categorically said dey av it on good authority that some sub heads were moved 2 roads of d speaker of d house of rep...which is local govt road and not a federal road...his comments really shows that d house of reps re playing politics of 2015 wif our progress as a nation. |

David Beckham on his retirement: "I'm thankful to PSG for giving me the opportunity to continue but I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level." "If you had told me as a young boy I would have played for and won trophies with my boyhood club Manchester United, proudly captained and played for my country over one hundred times and lined up for some of the biggest clubs in the world, I would have told you it was a fantasy. I'm fortunate to have realised those dreams." David Beckham on his international career which saw him win 115 caps: "To this day, one of my proudest achievements is captaining my country. I knew every time I wore the Three Lions shirt, I was not only following in a long line of great players, I was also representing every fan that cared passionately about their country. "I'm honoured to represent England both on and off the pitch. I want to thank all my team-mates, the great managers that I had the pleasure of learning from. I also want to thank the fans who have all supported me and given me the strength to succeed.'' David Beckham pays tribute to those closest to him as he announces his retirement: "I wouldn't have achieved what I have done today without my family. I'm grateful for my parents' sacrifice, which made me realise my dreams. I owe everything to Victoria and the kids, who have given me the inspiration and support to play at the highest level for such a long period. I also want to thank Simon Fuller and his team for their continued support." We shall miss him. |

When are you too old to be a leader - and can you really trust anyone over 70? Only last month the Pope, 85, said that he was too old, lacking in strength to do his job. But not every-one steps down like the Pope or sees age as a barrier. Take the 88 year old King of Saudi Arabia. Last year he was named by Forbes as one of the world's top 10 most influential leaders. And he's not alone. Queen Elizabeth is 86 is in the 61st year of her reign India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is 80. Raul Castro, Cuba's President is 81. And Robert Mugabe who's 89 has been in power in Zimbabwe for more than 30 years. So does age have an effect on your ability in office? |
