We all know that Lewis would not have been able to hold him off due to his tyre deg which is exactly why Maldonado should have used his head! The guy is just malicious and in a dangerous sport like F1 he shouldn't be anywhere near a circuit.

Beaf: ^
That doesn't change the rules. You don't drive into another car from off the road.

If McLaren hadn't messed up Lewis's pit stop, 'Liability' Maldonado wouldn't have been in position to crash into him.
That said, I hope Maldonado is given a very stiff punishment this time, that dude is a thug on wheels.

I thought this was gonna be Grosjeans race, but sadly it wasn't to be.

Yeah,if it wasn't for pitstop the incident would have been null and void. I didnt even want to mention the mclaren pit stop. my sanity and blood pressure can't take it anymore!

Pastor 'Liability' Maldonado! angry Mscheww! Anyway! Well done Alonso, Kimi and Schumi. I clapped when Vettel went out but was so gutted for Grosjean.

Huge fire in the williams garage after the race! Did any of you guys see it?? It was serious! seems a few people were injured though no information on whether any serious injuries. a sad end to a great day for williams sad
Sports / Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by omi247(f): 7:47pm On May 12, 2012
justwise: Hamilton has been stripped of pole position and asked to start from the back of the grid

This is really harsh punishment, the team has to be blamed for not putting enough fuel.

Though Lewis can still do well, last season in Canadian GP Button started from the back of the grid after drive-through penalty and end up winning that race.

I'm so mad about this angry. I could understand dropping him down to 10th, but back of the grid is overly harsh! I'm beginning to think it is maybe time for Lewis to move on from McLaren as the incompetence just seems to be growing! ..and Whitmarsh needs to go! ugh! sad (mini rant over lol)

Beaf:

You sound like you really love gears, oil and high tech. Are you in a technical field?

Boy! My mouth popped wide open when I read Martin Whitmarsh's words (still struggling to tape it shut cheesy). You just begin to imagine the levels of intricacy and disciplne that would have gone into that analysis; yet its something that obviously took a couple of days (or much less). Melbourne was just last weekend.
It becomes even scarier when you imagine it must have been done in someones spare time too.

cheesy Yeah, it's amazing the levels of highly detailed analysis that they can do in such a short amount of time. Though I suspect none of those guys gets much spare time! lol

Yes, I do! smiley I studied Mechanical Engineering at Uni. Kinda sad that I didn't take up the opportunity to join Formula Student while I was there as it can be a good way to get a job in Formula One if you are good enough!

Beaf: Can you imagine what these guys can determine just by listening to the audio of an engine?
Freaky! Scary!

...And it is for reasons like this that I love formula 1! ... don't you just love engineering!?!

The vultures are circling around Massa's head! A small part of me is actually starting to feel a bit sorry for him, but then I remember how much of a moaner he is, blaming all and sundry (except himself) for his woes and I just want to laugh.
Have been so excited for this F1 season! ...it's already doing a number on my sleeping pattern, but its all part of the fun! Shall be an interesting race on Sunday.
Health / Re: How Long Can You Go Without Food (practical Experience) by omi247(f): 6:03am On Feb 02, 2012
@ OP

Please be careful with what you are doing, I'm glad that you have people who are checking up on you who are close by and your mum is a medic, but there are still risks. I hope you guys have a back up plan for your eventual feeding (i.e liquidised or intravenous) because in the worst case scenario if you leave it too late you could be too weak/unable to even physically eat when you decide to you've had enough of your experiment.

Another important consideration: try not to overcompensate your hunger by drinking too much water as too much water consumption can also be fatal.

They say that the human body can go on average a maximum of 3 weeks without any food and only about 3 days without any water, but personally I have only ever tried to go about 2-3 days without food, as I love food too much and I am fortunate enough to not be without smiley. Good luck in your endeavours!

I concur.Meanwhile, nice smile you got  wink

lol thank you  cool

Beaf:

Yeah, thats the way to do it; cool and precise driving while making the car wider than the equator. . . Not with Schumi's criminally questionable style.
In the meantime, welcome to the F1 grand hotel 2011.

lol yeah. Schumacher gets away with so much, meanwhile hamilton only has to breathe before being hauled in for investigation. He is lucky the stewards are so inconsistent,   undecided.
Thanks for the welcome  smiley

I just found this thread lol.

Glad to know there are F1 fans on Nairaland! smiley.

Was a great race. Lewis definitely gave a valiant effort in fending off Webber for so long!
Family / Re: Caught Between Mother's Wish And Her Sibblings Want. by omi247(f): 3:01pm On Sep 06, 2011
@OP

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I shall pray for you and your mother.

I think like everyone here seems to agree, you need to follow your mother's wishes. I can understand what her relatives will be feeling by not being able to attend her funeral so maybe you can remedy this by doing as chaircover suggested and holding a separate memorial/service for her in Nigeria for the rest of the family. Also, it could be an idea to in addition film the actual funeral so those who could not attend can see it and feel a part of the event a bit.
Programming / Re: Beginners - Learn Android Programming by omi247(f): 5:39pm On Jun 01, 2011
Hi guys,

I don't mean to infringe on this thread, but I just wanted to direct beginners who want to learn Java to some very good and FREE materials for learning:

Stanford University (one of the top universities in the U.S) actually provides a full beginners course for Java: "Introduction to Computer Science |
Programming Methodology" that can be taken online. (Please note: this will NOT count towards you obtaining any credit/actual qualification from Stanford, but serves only are free training material)

You can download/view all the material for free. There are about 28 lectures in the course each about 45-50 minutes each, videos of the lectures can be found on Youtube. Other materials include the syllabus, handouts, assignments, and even an exam paper. you can also download all the software you need from their site. Check out the link below (hope this helps):

Family / Re: What Should A Woman Do To A Drunk Husband? by omi247(f): 4:35pm On May 31, 2011
@doctor, I hear you, and I think you have indeed given decent advice which includes the practical as well as prayer, my comment is really aimed at those whose sole advice is to pray thinking that alone is always enough, and I believe that is what romeo was also alluding to.
Family / Re: What Should A Woman Do To A Drunk Husband? by omi247(f): 2:51pm On May 31, 2011
romeo:

What the hell is wrong with Nigerians? Pray for him, Pray for him!! whatever happened to "take him him to a professional"? A doctor anyone? Religion will kill you people.

@romeo, I wonder o!! The answer to every problem is always to pray. no practical solutions. This thing gets me angry, , one of the many factors that contributes to Nigeria's lack of progress.

Da Doctor:

@ROMEO,

If you dont believe in prayers, MANY PEOPLE DO BELIEVE IN IT.

Take heart OYINBO

LOL

its not about not believing in prayers, in fact it is very important to pray, but to pray alone is not the answer. Even the Bible says something along the lines of 'Faith without action is dead'.
Politics / Re: Democracy Can Only Work If We Are Paid Jumbo Allowances - Rep Member by omi247(f): 12:45am On May 25, 2011
cry God and the whole universe is weeping for Nigeria.

Nigerians collectively are too docile. I pray for the day when I will stop hearing 'God will deliver us from this mess' and the like. Stop it! God will not save u! ("In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." - James 2:17) If I jump in front of one of the many speeding trailers driving around Lagos with no brakes and shout "God will save me!" will I walk away unscathed or more likely have scheduled a face-to-face meeting with my Creator to ask Him why I am not still earthbound

Until there is no real financial incentive for political offices and severe penalty for corruption and fraud we will never rid ourselves of these vermin and find the people who truly want to do good by their country and countrymen.

But alas it is easier said than done, we must hold them accountable somehow and I do not see how it can be done without major uprising and an unfortunate loss of life. We are not fed up enough yet. sad

If Fashola becomes president in 2015, I suggest he commission a project to build a maximum security super-prison specially for politicians. Maybe we can reserve a nice cushy suite there for Mr Adeseun.

‘Jumbo pay is necessary' , Rubbish and nonsense!
