For many people, a desk is much more than just a place to sit and do work. It is quite common for workers to spend more time at their desks in their office than sleeping in their bed at home, so it is inevitable that a desktop eventually starts to resemble the person who sits there. However, this tell-tale information could be defining who you are to your clients, coworkers, and your bosses, and not necessarily in a good way. Decide whether or not your desktop needs a makeover with these examples of what your desk decoration may be saying about you. Desk Description: Filled with Photos What It Says About You: Being family-oriented is a positive personality trait, but a desk covered with dozens of reminders of what awaits the worker after hours might make the worker appear less dedicated to his job and anxious to get home. Jobs That Gel With Your Style: Companies that are very flexible when it comes to family obligations and that offer the option to telecommute at least a day or two each week are ideal for you if you're a family man or woman. Desk Description: Bare Bones What It Says About You: People with empty desks often aren't satisfied until a project is complete and off of their desks. Extremely interested in order, workers with bare bones desktops pride themselves on their clarity and efficiency. Unfortunately, without anything personal on the desk it may seem to others that the worker isn't committed to staying long enough to make personalizing their desk worthwhile. Jobs That Gel With Your Style: Personality-driven professions like being a pharmaceutical rep or counseling would work well for you because being surrounded by a minimalist desk will enhance your pizzazz and allow the focus to stay on you. Desk Description: Candyland What It Says About You: A never-ending dish of candy is always an office favorite, and the provider is seen as welcoming, giving, and appreciative of friendship. Usually a team player, the candy giver can also be thought of as the office chatterbox, which may or may not be a good thing. Jobs That Gel With Your Style: Your personality is as fantastic as the candy you conveniently leave out for anyone to grab, so communications is the perfect field for someone like you who would like to share their sweet tooth and their sweet personality with the world. ---For more on the post visit http://joblogics.info/2012/09/26/what-your-desk-says-about-you/ Thanks for reading. Well, I don't have a personal website but I think there are some client's jobs to show. Will @OP flog me ![]() But guys.... I see no good designs here so far oooo. NL is even... ![]() |
@OP Please don't get pissed at my post. Just thought I should help some designers correct their works. If you are the owner of the website with your meta keywords spanning from line 5 to line 789 or thereabout, please, kindly do something. If you're yet to understand what meta tags are, read them up then if you are yet to know how to use WordPress, read up documentations and be well guided as well. If you are using a theme for a CMS, please, why not choose a presentable theme Ask people to review your works first before you make it public not to talk about when you are presenting it to a client to hire you. It's annoying so much. Also mind what you use for your website's favicon. They really matter a lot. Forums are just installed scripts and can't be taken into consideration as a website design unless you designed a custom theme and want to show it. Website coloration really matters a lot. If you don't understand what colour goes well with which, you can check online for colour family, etc. You'll be well guided on it. Be very considerate on the width you use for your website's width. Take into consideration that there are many Screen resolutions available. Read and know more about this if you don't know anything on it. If you don't know well on how to pull off a good website layout, why not search Google for Inspirational Website Designs and get a flow on how things go. You should like follow a good sequence flow of what should come first then the other and then the other... Make them follow and ordered sequence interesting for clients or website visitors. If you search for and use a complete CMS developed package like an online store, please ensure to customize very well. You can consider designing a new theme so as to avoid your website clashing with another's design. Don't change just color values and say you are done. That doesn't suffice. ...More to be said but I believe we learn everyday so let these be put into consideration and practice so that more words could be said. Remember once again, I said no Hard Feelings here. I am only trying to position you for the better challenge ahead! Cheers!!! |
heynew: Dear friend are u still scared and hating, please in God's name and for the sake of ur health move on pleaseNo let high tension shocks dey run through you. I only came in to see what's up like others. Why the shocks running through you? |

Did you know that the colors you like and dislike indicate your "Career Enjoyment Factor," or your personality's best career path? Consider these sometimes overlooked facts: 1. Ashley V. knew the exact moment she lost the job interview as a nanny for a very wealthy Hollywood producer. She had taken great care in preparing for the interview. She chose conservative clothing, pared back her makeup, tied her long, blond hair back into a ponytail and got a demure French-tip manicure. Satisfied that she was "nanny-material," she greeted her interviewer, the producer's wife, with confidence. Unfortunately, there was no way she could miss the interviewer's eyes as she did a slow head-to-toe evaluation, once up, then down, then up again. She noted the pursed lips and then the very cold voice as the interviewer asked her why she was the best candidate for the job. As she recounted her past experience, which met the expectations of the job, she noticed her interviewer's eyes wandering. Clearly, she was not interested ... and sure enough, despite the "we'll call you", there was no call. In Ashley's case, her interviewer gave very visible, easy-to-read signs that her model-like looks were not acceptable. For the rest of us, though, the signs might be more subtle, but still highly readable if you know what to look for during the interview. Psychologists Richard Bandler and John Grinder pioneered the field of neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), beginning in the 1970s. One aspect of this field of psychology has to do with what eye movements can tell us about what people are thinking. These conclusions are especially appropriate for the job interview setting -- where if you know what to look for, you might have time to change the direction, and ultimately the outcome, of the interview. First, the good signs 1. Looking directly into your eyes Making eye contact with you is usually a great sign of rapport. It shows that you have made contact and are keeping their attention. 2. Blinking in sync with you Another sign of rapport. When someone is aligned with you, their blinking may slow down and even begin to match yours. 3. Tilting the head and looking to the side People who do this are usually trying to recall something, which of course, means that they're actually listening to you. 4. Looking to the right and downwards This usually happens when people are having an internal dialog. Maybe you said something interesting that makes them think or they could be debating a comment you made. Now, the bad news These eye movements are a sure sign you're skating on thin ice: 5. Up and to the right When people are accessing the creative area of their brain, in other words, lying, this is the outcome. As Ashley found out, if they are looking at your resume and fidgeting, do not count on this job. 6. Sideways glance You may try to ease the tension by making a joke. If your interviewer makes this sign, you can be sure your most recent comment did not go over well ... in fact, they are irritated. 7. Long, intense eye contact Do you know the feeling of having someone boring their eyes into you? Well, it's not always a bad thing, sometimes it just indicates that they're paying very close attention. But if it continues, it either mean that the interviewer is lying or that they feel like the interview is a strain. 8. Rapid blinking movements The researchers say this is a sign of hard thinking. More likely, their mind is somewhere other than the interview or they are lying to you as in, "thanks for coming in ... we'll call you next week." 9. Quick glances If their eyes dart around, it usually means the interviewer is looking for an excuse. If you're being long-winded, or droning on, this gesture could mean "please, go away." It goes both ways Of course, NLP is not "one-size-fits-all." There are many factors that go into actions, and there could be many interpretations (unless we are talking about "rolling of the eyes." That's one gesture that does not need an explanation). Keep in mind that eye-based gestures can be read, as well as given. Your eye movements during an interview are also sending a message, regardless of how skilled a particular hiring manager might be at reading them. So, be sure to be mindful of your thoughts. If you're thinking, "this is boring ... get me out of here", that message is probably being communicated by your eyes. So make the effort to be totally focused during the interview, then when it's over and you're back in your car, feel free to express your true feelings! e o Don't forget to link us at http://joblogics.info/2012/09/17/decode-what-your-interviewer-is-thinking/ to get more of our Jobs and Career posts. Do you think you deserve a raise but haven't been able to summon the courage to ask for one, or are you unsure as to how you would justify a raise in this economy? If you've proactively approached your work in the ways outlined below, you may have a stronger case than you think. Document your accomplishments regularly throughout the year. Keep track of all the projects you manage. Upon completion of each assignment, write a note to yourself detailing your contribution and how your efforts helped the company make money, save money, save time, grow the business, or retain customers. Quantify your accomplishments with dollars, percentages, and other appropriate metrics. Actively seek out opportunities to improve efficiencies and profits regardless of the task at hand. By showing and quantifying your specific value added, you build a better business case to support the requested salary increase. Become hard to replace. Create opportunities to diversify your experience by offering to learn how to perform tasks that support your main role and make you more efficient at what you do. An alternative strategy is to become a subject matter expert in one specific aspect of the job so you are seen as the "go-to person" for a particular type of information. No want wants to lose the go-to person because then they have to take ownership of an additional task. Take on tasks that no one else wants to do. This does not mean taking on grunt work. It might just mean mastering a new technology that no one else feels comfortable with or taking on an assignment that is outside of the traditional scope of the job. Employees who demonstrate this level of flexibility tend to get more flexibility from their bosses on other issues, including compensation. Inherit the workload of a co-worker let go from the company. After the dust settles from the most recent round of layoffs, you may be asked to take on additional responsibilities or projects to pick up the slack created by the reorganization. If you have successfully assumed a larger workload, and as a result of it the company has saved in terms of salary expenditures, they may be willing to put some of that saved dough in your pocket. Accept high-profile assignments close to review time. Since it is easier for people to remember what has happened most recently, why not take on an important assignment to coincide with an upcoming review? The project is bound to become a focal point of the performance review discussion, and the boss can quickly remember and document the achievements relevant to the project. Your success negotiating a salary increase hinges on your ability to discuss the increase in terms of what is fair and reasonable. By incorporating some of these ideas into your career management strategy, you can keep the conversation focused on measurable achievements and build a compelling business case for the requested pay raise. Quiz: Do you deserve a raise? Answer yes or no to each of these questions. In the past year I have ... As your boss walks by your cubicle, she casually mentions that the team is getting pizza for lunch. But you know that she's really saying, "Nobody's getting a raise this year." Understanding your boss's communication style will save you from sleepless nights of trying to decode her conversations. Take this quiz to see if you can interpret what your head honcho's really trying to say. 1. 'Let me focus on big-picture ideas; you execute the details.' Translation: A. "I want to goof off this afternoon, and you seem like you know more about this." B. "I'll be taking credit for your work after the project is complete." C. "Do all the work but don't be surprised when I criticize you anyway." D. "Let's discuss my vision and the steps you can take to make this happen." 2. 'I'll be out of the office this afternoon, but you can reach me on my cell phone.' Translation: A. "I'm playing hooky, but if anything funny happens, call me." B. "I'm golfing and will ignore your phone calls." C. "I have important things to do, and if you try to call me, I'll fire you." D. "You'll be fine working on your own, but reach out if you need help." 3. 'We're going to be staying late the next couple of weeks.' Translation: A. "My home life stinks. Let's all hang out so I don't have to go home." B. "I'll still be going home at 4 p.m., and that means you need to pick up my work." C. "The new hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., permanently." D. "Everybody will be staying later for a few weeks to get this new project done." 4. 'I'll think about it.' Translation: A. "I don't know what we're talking about; I need to find somebody who does." B. "Let me figure out a way to steal this idea." C. "I'm doing something more important right now than listening to you." D. "Send me a follow-up email detailing your idea." 5. 'It's good to see you take the initiative.' Translation: A. "Now I have less work to do." B. "You remind me of me." C. "Finally, you're doing something on your own." D. I remember my second year in college, and about my third intended major change, my dad asked me if any of my advisers had given me a copy of the book, What Color is Your Parachute (a.k.a...the job-hunter's bible). I remember thinking at the time how stupid that sounded. All I was interested in was finding a major that wasn't too difficult, didn't interrupt my "extracurricular" activities, and provided me with a good salary after graduation. It wasn't until many years later - in one of many unhappy jobs - that I realized the value of the book. Sure, employability and salary potential are important in your career search - but even more so is finding a position that is a true fit for your passions, interest, and personality. Choosing a career that is not a fit for your personality is likely to leave you feeling unhappy and apathetic. If you don't know yourself as well as you'd like to, there are a variety of personality assessment tests such as Myers-Briggs available to help you identify your personality type. Assessments like the Myers Briggs can help you to determine what careers are a good fit for your personality type. If you aren't into assessments and feel you have a good understanding of yourself already, resources like the U.S. News Best Careers guide offers six general types of people and the types of jobs most likely to suit them. If you are like most job seekers, chances are you have already completed as much education as you would like to for the foreseeable future - and have already started down what you may feel is a path of no return. Rest assured, this is not the case. If you feel like I did, and have been in one unhappy job after another, chances are your personality is not best suited for your current line of work. Much like the trend of multiple marriages, these days people are finding themselves with multiple careers. Perhaps your interests have changed or you have had a family or your lifestyle has changed. Maybe even your personality has changed. Whatever the case, the following three steps can help you make a career change before landing in another position that drains your spirit and your desire to succeed. 1. Know thyself. Socrates said it best. If you want to find a career that is motivating, inspiring, and moves you to succeed, you have to know what careers are best for your personality, personal life, and talents. Using resources such as What Color is Your Parachute or an online app can help you determine where to start your search. 2. Research, research, research. Once you have a better idea of your options, you can begin to research those that may actually be a fit. Chances are, greater than not, your career change will require additional education, experience, or training.... Are you an Outcast at Work? The struggle to fit in follows everyone throughout life. It’s one of those human experiences everyone must endure. In school, you don’t want to be the kid playing alone during recess. At a party, you don’t want to be the only person standing in the corner with a drink in your hand and a sad expression on your face. In the office, you’d like to have people talk to you during the day. Or at the very least, not actively dislike you. When you put groups of people together, not everyone is going to be best friends. Even if co-workers aren't fighting, one person can feel like an outsider and grow to dread heading into work each morning. People don’t fit in for a variety of reasons. Personalities don’t click. Your gender, ethnicity or age make you stick out from everyone else. Or maybe preconceived notions of you or of your colleagues — however inaccurate they may be — prevent relationships from forming. The gender gap Vicky Oliver, author of “Bad Bosses, Crazy Co-Workers and Other Office Idiots,” worked for an ad agency where she was one of few women on the team, and those women were significantly older than she. She couldn't change or hide her age and gender, so she decided to use it to her advantage. “I took it as a challenge,” Oliver says. “I recognized that, by nature of my gender, I would be giving a different perspective to the team and that was a good thing.” More importantly, she recognized that not only did she feel better, but she was making a valuable contribution that others would notice. “The trick is to accept that maybe you won’t be let in to every single social activity — I don’t recall ever being invited for a beer after work — but hopefully, for the things that really matter, your input as an outsider will be appreciated. You are like a tiny focus group of one. You are broadening the group knowledge and your input really matters!” It’s not them, it’s you Sometimes a rift between co-workers is less about what they don’t like and more about what they don’t know... Difference between resume and curriculum vitae (CV) A resume is a detailed summary of an individual’s professional experiences. These experiences usually include education, clinical experience or work history, projects, and awards. This document is designed to introduce the job seeker to potential employers and hopefully interest them in a follow-up interview. Often, the resume is the employer’s first impression of the job seeker, so it is wise not to underestimate its importance. A resume is rarely more than one page. A curriculum vitae (CV) contains the identical information as a resume; however, this document is usually designed for a job seeker who is interested in an academic or research position. The CV is usually more extensive in length, because the employer is probably seeking someone with extensive experience as a professional nurse, educator, and/or researcher, as well as someone with a list of publications and/or research that have been completed or are in progress. Although there is no limitation on the length of a CV, it is important that it, like the resume, be written concisely. It is wise to check with the human resource or employment department of the potential employer if it is not clear whether a CV or a resume is expected. There are yet many more differences as discussed by other sources. It is worthwhile if you can check them out and add every single knowledge gathered into your understanding of when to use either a Resume or a Curriculum vita. http://joblogics.info/2012/09/05/difference-between-resume-and-curriculum-vitae-cv/ |

Ask people to review your works first before you make it public not to talk about when you are presenting it to a client to hire you. It's annoying so much.
