Hi guys. I trust that our day is going on fine.
I took delivery of my 2007 525i over the weekend. Shipped it in from the USA but I’m having issues connecting my phone to its Bluetooth. The Bluetooth isn’t just responding as I can’t click it on or even search for the phone on the idrive system.
I have tried every trick on YouTube to no avail, I also did the hard reboot and secret menu thing but it’s not yielding.
I also will like to update the vehicle’s map/navigation software to work with/in Nigeria. The vehicle does not have a usb slot or an aux port but it has it displayed on the idrive interface/screen or maybe I’m yet to discover where it is.
I will be appreciative of your kind suggestions and ideas.

Hello everyone!

This is my first post on this forum, I only read post for many years but I didn’t register but I finally did. Post on here triggered me to purchase a BMW 525i 2007 6 cylinder. I have been a Toyota user for many years but I’m tired of seeing beautiful features in other cars under my car age performing speechless.

I’m a lover of fast cars’ turbos, to be honest I have played bunch of car race on ps4 ordered from amazon. But I don’t know why it took me years for my eyes opening.

Luckily I stumbled on the 525i on corpart Auction site in United State and I make the purchase, but I found out that the oil filter housing gasket and timing cover gasket leak. Which means I have to change gasket, so I proceed further to check for solution on YouTube. It’s just a tiny rubber that need to be replaced that cost just 4$.

I red some post here that warned to stay away from Chinese part. Should I order on eBay shipped from the United State or is there any store that sells original part in Nigeria?

I myself took delivery of a 2007 525i this Saturday (27th Oct. 2018) and I’m just getting used to the car.
It has no serious mechanical or electrical issues except for some abs sensors and others that needs to be replaced.
I’m having issues with the car’s Bluetooth pairing with my phone despite several YouTube tutorials etc all to no avail.
I did the oil and filter change yesterday (Mobil 1) and the difference is quite clear. I’ve used a Honda, Mitsubishi , Mazda and a couple of Toyotas and the difference is quite obvious I must confess.
Since we are in the same ‘ship’ I guess we can be exchanging notes and what have you.
Abi wetin you think?

For a complete front bumper that comes with the fog lights the op quoted the sum of NGN140k and NGN80k for the incomplete bumper (without fog lights).


The quotation is outrageous for a tokumbo bumper.

My brother, the trick is to have the elementary convention tables available at the back of primary exercise note books in mind and you will get the logic.
Always remember that the units are thus:

Millimeters (mm) = 1000
Centimeters (CM)= 100
Decimeter (dm) = 10
Meters (m) = 1

The proposed Abeokuta-Sagamu 10 lane road is actually a PPP based project and the Public/Government part of the project is as follows:
1. Government must ensure the availability of land along both sides of the corridor/road for industrial development only hence the governments accusation/revocation of all title on/of all undeveloped land within 2km on both sides of the corridor.
2. The construction of the road and flyovers from the start point (I.e Ibara) to the Kobape end of the road.

The Private partners will continue the road from that point to the Sagamu interchange and/or beyond.

A few of the immediate benefit of the road is the ongoing construction of the Largest brewery/bottling plant in Africa (upon completion) by Vita construction for Sabmiller®, which will employ over 1200/people during the construction phase and about 3000 direct and indirect job upon completion.

A few other multinationals are already on ground with construction works as at today and many more to follow suite.
These and many more are what invalidates the assertion that the road is a white elephant project although the government failed woefully in terms of general development of some critical areas and border towns, education etc but subsequent administrations can and should tackle those inadequacies headlong.

PS: I am not in government service or political patronage of anyone.

TURKISH AIRLINES ...... this airline is a classic definition of pure extortionist capitalism. My family bought fully flexible business class tickets for an extended cross continent trip this summer. BECAUSE i knew that we had baggage and work / life could disrupt the schedules, i opted to pay for fully flexible business class seats which were sold at a hefty premium.

Then turkish airlines proceeded to demonstrate their crass disregard for empathy or honor.

first, their ground staff messed up my son's ticket & despite them realizing it was their fault, my family was held hostage until we paid $500.00 for the privilege of suffering and being placed on the next flight!

Then my daughter was returning unaccompanied (because I couldn't join her), they refused to provide any ground assistance EVEN THOUGH the travel agent confirmed BEFORE WE BOUGHT THE TICKETS that there would be no issues as any sensible airline provides unaccompanied minor services; THEN her connection from JFK was delayed and they left for lagos without her, THEN ABANDONED and REFUSED to assist a 14 year old STUCK AT THIER AIRPORT! I had to personally fly 14 hours return AND PAY THEM for new tickets to rescue her.

The worst part was meeting others with cheaper tickets who were adults and simply placed on the next flight that brought my daughter back. I guess they only mess with the weak or those who don't seem to create problems. Unfortunately, i prefer to cause them pain by making sure their incompetence has no hiding place.

I thank God that i could afford to sort it out and had friends who had friends in istanbul who took care of her overnight (thanks to Omowunmi, Binty, Ara, Gozie, Martin and Emin). I shudder to imagine what could have happened with a young girl stuck in a strange land through no fault of hers!

Anyone force to fly TURKISH AIRLINES be prepared for crass ground service, zero customer care and barely disguised efforts to fleece you. Yes, you can repost this message. I hope it gets widely circulated and TURKISH AIRLINES realizes that messing up Customers is bad for business.

Very good idea but I feel we are doing 'exactly what Innoson did'.
Why dont we start by picking an esential element/part of an automobile and produce them locally? Say for instance someone starts the production (from scratch to finish) of any of spark plugs, horn, fuel filter, oil filter or even ordinary radiator or just the car rug etc of common auto brands and models.
