FashionRe: I Need Pics Of Ghana Weaving by omoge(f): 12:57am On May 30, 2007
and am very sure now that it's what yoruba call DIDI. when my ghana friend did it for me, i loose it without snapping pic with it.
those pic here are mainly braiding (front of those styles)

girl, it will be hard to find pic of it cuz it's not really in vogue like the braid as in corn row or pic above.

with that ghana weave or didi, the person making it will stand in your front and do it from front to back.
unlike braid where you stand at the back, ghana weave/didi you stand in the front. (real expert can still stand anyway to do it)

i remember i used to make it too. make a line of hair, then make another line in the center and then with the ilarun, you start. for every woven one, you use the ilarun to cut a strand to weave. someone good at it (like my ghana friend) didn't use ilarun.

Omo, hopefully you will come across it but rare, smile.

FashionRe: I Need Pics Of Ghana Weaving by omoge(f): 2:47am On May 29, 2007
sometime ago, i asked my Ghana friend to do my hair. She ended up doing what we call Didi in nigeria.

The method is dying (maybe cuz it takes more time and method) not many pple know how to do it unlike the braids as in corn rows.
FashionRe: I Need Pics Of Ghana Weaving by omoge(f): 2:41am On May 29, 2007
from what i have seen, weaving can be braiding.

the ones we call braiding is usually very common around west africa. we all know that. the didi, common among older women.
if you see a fulani, they mix both together didi (weaving) and braiding.

remember that word "weaving a basket"
CultureRe: Be Proud To Speak Hausa Language Here by omoge(f): 2:31am On May 29, 2007
yaya yara= how children
yaya yali = how children (other deeper fulani)

baba na = my father
uwa na= my mother

menini = what

menini ya faru = what happened

pronounce wa e (say the e as *a*)= who

when someone says uwaka lol they are cursing  undecided
