CultureRe: Do You Know Your Neighbours? by omoge(f): 2:35pm On Jun 20, 2007
true. food and tax is not the problem. prices don't go up anyhow and tax, you don't even know they take it from your pay. also people don't worry about tax because most will get refund back the coming year.

i just think it's the way they are brought up. be an INDIVIDUAL. you are on your OWN. the BILLS too is something else. it's unending and perhaps that's what's on their mind  smiley

many of them have something (nothing) on their mind.

i read of a guy who was greeted and his response was ''who told you my morning was good'' lol

grin

it's sad that some Africans come here and act the same.
FoodRe: Nigerian Fruits And Veggies! by omoge(f): 2:08pm On Jun 20, 2007
sorry, the veggie for masa is Yakua and not kerikeshi like i mistakely wrote. yeah sugar, pepper, yaji and Yakua soup are use for eating masa. i prefer the soup and yaji than the rest as i don't really like sugary stuffs.

do you know Pete? made from smooth corn and Yakua leaf is added. mai jada and tomatoe too. really taste good.

i love dankali (raw) too grin

how abt those poddy peanut (jada) too tasty.

Achaa is great o cheesy

Al R. do you know Alewa maca? that sweet thing like cotton candy. there is one made from sugar cane (Reke). it's brownish white.
Yes i love northern meal too. I replaced my pyam with Semo so far grin

Al, where did you get the cheap ticket?
PoliticsRe: A Gorilla Story by omoge(f): 5:53pm On Jun 19, 2007

RIP mama gorilla and i hope baby gorilla find a good family to adopt him. if we can love animal, then we can love human more and the world will be a better place to live  wink

FoodRe: Which Is Your Preference, Barbequed Beef Or Suya? by omoge(f): 2:16pm On Jun 19, 2007
do you think those foreign based miss suya? think again cheesy at least not Omoge cheesy

I don't miss suya cuz i prepare it myself with the yaji i made myself. now i have yaji sent to me by sweet mom and a good pal from Jos. i make it when i feel like eating it.

BBQ, sigh undecided it's good but the brown sugar added to the sauce spread on it wouldn't make me like it.

FoodRe: Nigerian Fruits And Veggies! by omoge(f): 10:51am On Jun 19, 2007
i agree with you. we take fruit for granted in Nigeria. i spend alot of kudi, money, ego and owo on fruit here. you know there is no tree to climb and pluck fruit from  grin

@Soul, yes i know those fruit haha. i do make kuli kuli and danqua myself with other yarinyas. see when you have northern friends, we yarinya just group ourselves and make them. used to make fura and then we buy milk (i don't like raw cow milk) to eat/drink with it. we make yanji too just to eat our kose.

we use cashew to put mark on our hands lol. do you know it itch and when you scratch it, it become sore? big sore o

Do you know MASA? it's made from corn and then fried on a flat clay ware with round hole. little oil is added when making masa. it taste so good with that soup made from karikashi (sour leafy vegetable) i think that's the name right? or with yanji. Yanji or Yaji is one too good stuff  grin use for eating akara (kose), SUYA, and Masa. i miss masa lol  cheesy

yeah, i wonder how the north is now.

CultureRe: Do You Know Your Neighbours? by omoge(f): 1:51pm On Jun 18, 2007
@ soul

yeah its kind of sad but that is how it is. i took it on me one day to just intro myself. I saw this lady moving into our community (she is opposite where i'm staying). on a very good and bright afternoon, i saw her as i went to pick up mails. I stopped by and intro myself. ''hello, my name is Omoge am your neighbor, welcome here. stop by if you need any help or tools to work with. here is my number. she told me her name and where she works. then i left.

that was donkey months ago lol so far she never said hello to me nor anything. we both looked like strangers. we jam anytime we putting the trash out and no greetings or anything. i tried greeting her but the look on her face just made me to stay jeje o lol

they just don't care. and really nobody want to know your business just hello how are yous.

well, am still going to know my neighbors with or w/o their action dramas  grin
