FamilyRe: Why Are My Friends In Nigeria Always Asking Me For Money? by omoge(f): 3:04am On May 26, 2007
@ Ndipe

thanks. it's friday and am remembering those good ol' days at the suya joint just two of us mulching away teasing and chatting away the night.

@ zigbo

nah you don't always have to tell them anything, once you board that plane to the yonder land, letters are already following you. (even if you don't have mailbox yet, sure look well cuz they already opened one for you)
FamilyRe: Why Are My Friends In Nigeria Always Asking Me For Money? by omoge(f): 2:12am On May 26, 2007
i have lost my friendship with my best friend in the whole world. i loved her so much but it's sad it came to something flimsy that put us apart. she asked me for money, that she was going to a wedding and she was the bridemaid and needed money for the clothes. 2years earlier, i had given some money to her mom out of love.

here am i, a full time student doing a little part time job to kill boredom, i gave it a thot and well the reason my friend wanted money wasn't good enough for me. so i ignored the mail. she never wrote me anymore. i miss our friendship and i tried to get in touch with her to no avail. I'm sure if it was a life and death thing, i will be more than happy to help. but this was for fashion  undecided i expected her to know better as an educated girl.

was I wrong, my heart tells me no. but then i miss her alot but such is life.
when you ask for money, and someone says no or give excuse, don't be mad at the person. being oversea is not tantamount to rich student etc. . you never know what that student has in mind or is facing.

it's when it comes to money that you know who is your friend.

Gayle, Oprah's best friend has said it that if she was asking Oprah for money, their friendship wouldn't have been where it is today. she said even when she was struggling, she never asked of money from Oprah. And that's how it's supposed to be. They both still laugh about those hardship days.

I miss my friend alot. I hope someday we will be able to talk to each other.

FashionRe: Need Your Advice About My Hair by omoge(f): 10:40pm On May 25, 2007
i think you should do weaves. like they sow weaves to your hair. do this for some months just to enable your hair to grow underneath then you cut the perming off, it's a starter.

you know, you have to cut your permed hair to have a normal african hair.

RomanceRe: At My Ropes End by omoge(f): 8:13pm On May 25, 2007
stand firm and let your no be no. I have seen too much court TV, so talk to her about why you think it's not right for lovers or those planning to marry to live together. if she really wish for a long term, not living together before the marriage shouldn't be a problem. she may not understand your reason of saying no, tell her religion or your culture says no to such. it's you who need to explain things well. let her know you love her and that you care about her that's why you are also saying no.

if she is having apartment problem, see if you can do anything about it, like helping her look for a cheaper/affordable place. ask her if she is having apartment problem,

I wonder why a lady would want to live with someone she isn't married to.

Christianity EtcRe: Why Muslims Why?! by omoge(f): 7:14pm On May 25, 2007
Ibrahim, the best thing to do in order to bring home your point is not succumb yourself to abusing pple, not manlike you know. The holy book says bless those who curse you, you can win pple to your religion by letting nice word come out of your mouth. Take it easy.

no matter what, as a nice guy, don't use the word bitch to abuse a lady, stay cool cool

Dating And Meet-up ZoneRe: Coming To Nigeria To Marry by omoge(f): 2:00am On May 25, 2007
good. go to Nigeria to visit first, see how things are for yourself in terms of his personality. make sure you open your eyes well. if you even have good friends, you will be able to know (they might tell you directly or indirectly) if he has previous engagements or secret  undecided. again, make sure you put your eyes and ear for ground so you know everything going on around you and him, once you feel you are contented with this visit, then the marriage should come but don't rush anything okay. trust not your own understanding.

I wish you all the goodies  cheesy
FamilyRe: What If Your Wife Can't Cook? by omoge(f): 1:47am On May 25, 2007

Dating And Meet-up ZoneRe: Coming To Nigeria To Marry by omoge(f): 6:59pm On May 24, 2007
why not take your time a bit? you met in Dec, also see if he can come on a visit, maybe a month visit. then at least you've both met once.

next you could plan to go to nigeria for the marriage after his visiting, Just be careful, he maybe a nice guy but be sensible a bit, get to know him more. let him try to come visit you where you are.
both of you could work on that (his visit to where you live)
Christianity EtcRe: I Want To Know About MFM by omoge(f): 6:17pm On May 24, 2007
i had a lot of those books from him as a gift when i was leaving home. it was given to me by a friend who knew i love reading christian books, unfortunately life here/school life is too demanding and i have not read them, nor used them in prayers. just last year i had to trash and recycle all of them and throw them away cuz i needed rooms for my bookshelf.

they are good read but using the books for casting out devil is eh scary to me.

they have this song, i belief in miracle i belief in miracle, miracle miracle, etc,

oh well undecided
TravelRe: The New Yorker Magazine Article On Lagos by omoge(f): 6:00pm On May 24, 2007
@Spoilt

you are correct. That maintenance culture is really missing at obodo nig in general. trash bag, trash can, emptying system, landfills etc, do all this exist?

i think it's about time they introduce such.
FoodRe: Which Is The Best Salad Cream For Fat People by omoge(f): 5:42pm On May 24, 2007
just eat your salad plain. That's what i do.  My reason, I hate all those creams/dressings for salad. It even taste better without dressing. Other time i use Grilled Chicken (skinless) on my salad. what i do, i buy tenderloin, grill/bake it and then slice it on my salad, oh taste of blissful heaven !!  grin

so try eating it plain  cheesy
