Ika, haha, @Omoge25, yeah you can find bitter leaf in one of those Africa store, but I don't buy from their stores. Once I came across fresh bitter leaf in an African store. I was so excited and bought it. On getting home, i first tasted it (like we do after washing bitter leaf to make sure it has a bit bitter left), my goodness!!!! it was like the bitter leaf was not washed at allll, SO Bitter that my head moved on tasting it, I threw up. I had to throw everything away in trash cuz i don't have the time to rewash them. So make sure you don't buy much at first. Buy 1 pack then taste it when you get home to make sure it is not VERY bitter before you get more that will be enough for you ofe onugbu. Same thing happened when i was trying to help a family to make egusi. she and hubby tried it and it was sooooooooo bitter, like it was not washed at all but pounded and packaged. they had to throw all the bitter leaf away. I really don't know what some of these stores sell abroad. Right now I use the ones brought from home by trusted friend and my mom. bitter leaf is supposed to have a lil bitter left not one that taste so bitter like it's unwashed. Hopefully you will get the right one in the website provided You will enjoy your ofe onugbu with the right bitterleaf, ![]() |

Hello Dominobaby, sorry for writing back a bit late No, I left UI some few years ago, I still cherish my experience there, you UIite? wonder how Idia Hall is like today ![]() dominobaby: |
I don't add Pnut to my onugbu soup. My ingredients are water, pepper, oil, fresh fish (Tilapia or Salmon), onion, salt, bitter leaf, maggi, crayfish and shrimp (sometimes) ![]() My prep if bitter leaf is dried, soak and then blend to a very smooth paste and set aside. Add water in a pot, add the cleaned tilapia or salmon Add blended pepper and onion, then palm oil and let it boil Then add your blended bitter leaf Add maggi and salt (according to your taste) and crayfish cook for some minutes more until thicken (i usually love mine to be thick and not watery) eat with semo, farina, fufu pyam or eba (i eat mine with Semo, because their garri here is )Maybe that's your friend's way of making hers. ![]() cheers. |

Because in the country that Mr. Wolfowitz lives in, there is something like work ethnic. in the country that Mr. Rufai lives in, there is no work ethnic. You can add all your family to the payroll, your wife, you girlfriend etc, nobody will ask you any question. |
