CrimePastor keeps 30 teenagers at home as sex slaves (Photo) -Vanguard by Omoocash(op):
Pastor turns teenage church girls to sex objects
ON September 3, 2016 12:00 AM / IN Crime Guard, News /
Comments
By Evelyn Usman & Ebere Aham
It was a shocking revelation yesterday at the Lagos State Police
Command as three teenagers recounted how the General Overseer
of Tongue of Fire Ministry, Shogunle, Lagos, Pastor Chukwuma
Nkwocha, had been sleeping with them, in exchange for money to
pay their school fees.
The girls whose ages are between 12 and 17 years, were among 29
others rescued from the pastor’s house by operatives of the Lagos
state Police Command.
Apparently taking advantage of the prevailing economic situation,
Nkwocha, who hails from Imo state was alleged to have been
sleeping with the girls who are all members of his church, with a
promise to feed them and pay for their Junior and Senior Secondary
School Certificate examinations.
It was also discovered that the parents of some of the girls had
accommodation problems and were temporarily living in the church.
One of them who claims to be a student of the Ondo state
polytechnic, said any attempt to refuse Nkwocha’s advances could
lead to her dropping out of school, a dream she said she had longed
to actualise.
But the bubble burst after one of the girls who had a
misunderstanding with Pastor Nkwocha, spilled the beans to the
Police. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni disclosed
that during a raid of the Pastor’s three bedroom flat, 30 girls were
rescued, as six of them confessed that the pastir had slept with
them without protection.
Mr Owoseni said, “the girls were taken to the Lagos State University
Hospital. Some of them were pregnant and aborted the pregnancies.
The command will ensure that the Pastor and whoever must have
conspired with him face the full wrath of the law”.
Teenagers confessions
According to one of the rescued teenagers, Millicent Chukwu, (13) a
Junior Secondary School 3 student “I am a member of the church
and my parents attend the church as well. They (parents) took me
to the Pastor’s house to spend the holiday with him and his wife.
But the wife is in the university. My parents believe he would see
vision that would help me to be great in life. I met other girls in his
house.
We were 13 girls in the flat. I know he was having sex with some
of the girls but I don’t know if they got pregnant or whether he
aborted any pregnancy. He did not have sex with me but he usually
fondled with my breasts. Whenever he romanced with me, he never
said anything, he would just be touching me all over and I would not
make any noise. I will then pray to God for forgiveness. I felt so
bad that he was doing those things to me but I couldn’t dare to
report a man of God. “.
Another rescued girl, Chinecherem, also 13, said “ I was taken to his
house for prayer. But at night, he would come and make love to
me. Thereafter, he would take other girls in turns. We all knew what
was going on but could not talk because he was assisting us
financially”.
I only slept with one not 30 girls
However, the man at the centre of controversy, Nkwocha, said
among all the girls, he had only slept with one of them whom he
identified simply as Kingdom. He claimed that he intended to marry
Kingdom, a 16 year-old girl. Asked if her parents were aware that
he was having a clandestine relationship with their daughter, he
shook his head.
Nkwocha, who pastors a congregation of over 200 worshipers said
“These are mere fabrications. I have only slept with one of them.
Her name is Kingdom, whose mother brought to be staying with me
so that I can train her in school . But she begged me into accepting
one of the girls who has accommodation problem.
Kingdom has never been pregnant and I have not carried out any
abortion on her. The only person that had an abortion was the girl
that came to report me to the Police. But I was not responsible for
the pregnancy, one of my pastors was responsible. In fact, It was
when I took my mother’s corpse to the village for burial, that my
phone rang and she (Onosaoluwa) told me that she was in the
hospital to procure an abortion.
She said that Pastor Steven took her to the hospital On arrival, I
invited both of them and threatened that I was going to report
them to the Church’s committee this Sunday. As they were leaving,
they connived to do this to me. This whole arrest was because I
threatened to blow open the deed of Pastor Steven with the girl in
question”.
I am not happy with the development. If God can give me a second
chance, I will make amends. I know that God is a merciful God. Is
there anyone among us here who will say that he has not done
anything that has offended God? Such person is a liar because
the Bible says no man can say he has not sinned?, he said.

I did not apply via the FSB. Honestly speaking I do not have confidence in any selection process involving Nigerians. We have a way of cornering such opportunities for children of the super-rich who don't even need the scholarships in the first place.

I applied directly to the UK institutions. I applied to three schools then: UCL, Kings' College and University of Loughborough. I got the UCL award.
I wish to apply for PhD in Mechanical Engineering but I do not have any of the following GRE/SAT/TOEFL/IELTS but I collected letter from my Universities for 'Certificate of English as a Medium of Instruction and Examinations' hope this can serve for English Proficiency.

Secondly, do I need to contact any supervisor from those universities of my interest before applying huh Kindly advice

Thanks in anticipation.

Nigeria Replies Turkey: We Won’t Shut down 17 Turkish Schools In Nigeria

Federal Government yesterday said it would not honour the request by the Turkish government to shut 17 Turkish schools in Nigeria.

The Turkish envoy, Hakan Cakil, last week called for closure of the schools because of their affiliation to the Gulen movement, the group the government alleged masterminded the July 15, 2016, attempt to oust President Recep Tayyip Erdoan,.

Gulen movement is an Islamic transnational religious and social movement, with Turkish Islamic theologian and preacher Fethullah Gulen as the leader. There had been a massive crack down on instruments or organisations perceived to be affiliated to the movement.

Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu said the request would not be considered until the Turkish government provided concrete evidence through appropriate diplomatic channels, to back the charge, noting that “Nigeria, as a sovereign state, has rules and regulations guiding its operations, either diplomatic and otherwise.

“This institutions (Turkish schools and other investments) came to Nigeria and indicated interest in investing in Nigerian education system. Conditions were presented to them and they apparently met the requirements, and were issued operational licence, and they have been operating in line with the specification of the licence they have.

“In that regard, it would be morally and legally unfair to yield to the call of the Turkish government on mere allegations. We have no evidence against the Turkish schools and other investments in Nigeria that would warrant that we take the action as requested by the government and close the schools or other investments. Until the Turkish government proves otherwise, they will continue to do their legitimate business here in Nigeria.”

The Turkish ambassador during a visit by Shehu Sani, the vice chairman, Senate committee on Foreign Affairs, on Thursday, July 28, alleged that the schools have links with a movement his government believed was involved in the failed coup attempt in Turkey.

In a swift reaction, the authorities of the Turkish schools in a statement by its managing director, Orhan Kertin had faulted the government’s request describing its as “spurious.”

EducationTurkey Wants Nigeria To Close 17 Schools In Coup Clampdown !!! by Omoocash(op): 5:43am On Jul 29, 2016
The Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, Hakan Cakil, has called on the Federal Government to close 17 Turkish schools in Nigeria over alleged links with a movement his government says was involved in the July 15 failed coup attempt in Turkey.

The ambassador, who made the call when the vice chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Shehu Sani, paid him a courtesy visit, said the Turkish Government had nothing to do with the schools.

Sen. Shehu Sani (R) with Ambassador of Turkey, Ambassador Hakan Cakil, during the Senator’s visit to condole the Ambassador over the recent coup attempt in that country, in Abuja on Thursday (28/7/16)
According to the ambassador, investigations by the Turkish government showed that a movement led by US-based Fethullah Gulen was responsible for the failed coup attempt, which claimed over 200 lives.

He said the Turkish government was dissociating itself from any school bearing the country’s name in Nigeria, adding that while the country had schools in other countries, it had none in Nigeria.

“We are requesting the Nigerian Government to close down the schools.

“I have requested officially, both orally and in writing, the closure of these schools.

Also, I have sent a letter to Mr Geoffrey Onyeama (Foreign Affairs Minister) and Mr Abba Kyari (Chief of Staff to the President) about this subject and requested their support for the closure of the schools.

“I will also send letters to the Chairmen of Committees on Foreign Affairs in the National Assembly, as well as the Senate Majority Leader over the issue and I am going to enclose some documents in English on how the group members are engaged in the army, police and the Judiciary.

“In Nigeria, there are 17 schools, which belong to the Gulen Movement, one in Kano, one in Kaduna, one in Abuja, Lagos etc and they are offering scholarships.

“We are starting some legal procedures to take the name of Turkish out of the name of the schools. They are not the schools of the Turkish Government.

“They are misleading the public and allocating scholarships to the children of the high bureaucracy and after they graduate from school, they send the children to Turkey to attend their universities,’’ he said.

The ambassador said the Turkish government had closed down all schools linked to the movement in Turkey.

“Turkish government has already closed down all primary, secondary, high schools and universities owned by the group in Turkey.

“In our system, it is allowed for the foundation to establish schools if they fulfill some requirements and that is how they established these schools.

“This is an issue that the Turkish Government has attached so much importance.

“Recently, my Minister called Mr Onyeama and briefed him about these schools because they are raising funds through the schools and they are using these funds for the illegal activities.

“This is a matter of national security for us in Turkey. I have instructions from my government to follow up this matter and we will be very happy to obtain the support of Nigerian legislators on that issue,’’ he said.

He promised to engage other relevant government officials on the matter, adding that “I will take the matter up to the Federal Executive Council. I have also requested an audience with the Minister of Education.

“You may be aware that the government of Turkey started to investigate those responsible for the coup attempt.

“It is really clear that the Gulen Movement is behind the coup. There are some testimonies by detained military officials.

“They are confessing that they are in connection with the Gulen Movement and they have been members of the Gulen Movement for a long time and they have been planning this coup for a long time, nearly five months.

“The Government of Turkey has started to take some legal actions against the leader of the movement. He is now based in the United States. His extradition is a legal matter between turkey and United States,’’ he said.

On the relations between Nigeria and Turkey, the ambassador said he was optimistic that the trade between the two countries, which declined due to the drop in oil price, would pick up soon.

The Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sani, said Turkey had the legitimate right to be concerned about its security in view of the failed coup attempt.

He, however, urged the Turkish government to operate within the ambits of the law in bringing those responsible for the incidence to book.

“I think the world should identify and reason with you because if the coup had succeeded there could have been bloodshed.

“You have a legitimate right to continue to raise them and for our government to look into them.

“One thing I will say is that I will urge you to use the instrument of democracy, liberty and constitutional right to bring to book those who are involved in that,’’ he said.

CrimeHOW TO AVOID BEING RAPE AND HOW TO REPORT RAPE RELATED ISSUES !!! by Omoocash(op): 3:18pm On Jun 23, 2016
TIPS FOR RAPE PREVENTION

There are no surefire ways to prevent a rape, but a few tips here might help.
• Learn Self-Defense
• Carry Pepper Spray or Mace
• Do not drink beyond limit
• Have a trusted escort when you know you are going to be late.
• Have someone with you when you have to go to high risk areas in the night.
• Yell and shout for help

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I AM RAPED?
Soon after you have been raped, you should:
• Try to get to a safe place;
• If you feel you are still in danger, call the police;
• Contact a friend or someone in your family you can trust. It's best to have someone with you for support if you go to the hospital, a doctor, or the police;
• Ring or go to a Centre Against Sexual Assault or local hospital. You may be injured or in shock after the rape - some medical attention is important;
• It is best not to wash, shower, have a bath or change your clothes before seeking help. You may destroy evidence which could be used if you decide later to report the rape to the police;
• Contact the police as soon as possible after the rape if you want them to take action.

HOW DO I GET HELP?
Have you just been raped or sexually assaulted?
The first thing to do if you have just been raped or sexually assaulted is to make sure that you are in a safe place. You are probably still in shock so try to remain calm.
Secondly, remember that however you feel, you are not to blame. You are not alone, there are people who can help you.
There are several things you can do.
•Understand that this was not your fault. There was nothing you could have done to prevent the assault. Nothing you did gave anyone the right to do this. The fault lies entirely with the person who raped sexually assaulted you.
•Talk to someone about what has happened. You can call the helpline (0808 802 99 99), or contact your nearest Rape Crisis Centre

•Or talk to a friend or family member, someone you trust to support you. Ideally this person will come with you if you decide to do any of the following (alternatively, your local Rape Crisis Centre may be able to arrange someone to go with you).
If you are not sure what you want to do, go along, with a friend, to your nearest Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) where you can have a forensic and medical examination (including tests for sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy). They can store the forensic results until you make up your mind whether to report to the police or not. SARC's have specially trained experienced professionals who can give you medical help and advice. They can also help and support you through the immediate trauma.
If you are not sure where there is a SARC you can contact the NHS (National Health Service) Direct on 0845 4647 or go to the website at www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk or contact your local doctor or Accident and Emergency hospital. If you can take a friend you can trust with you.
If you decide to report to the police ... if possible:
• Do not wash
• Do not brush your teeth
• Do not have a cigarette
• Do not eat or drink
• Do not change your clothes (or keep them safely to one side)
• Try not go to the toilet
• Do not clear up anything from the area of the incident.

Don't worry if you have already done some of these things. It is quite possible that there is still evidence to collect as well as injuries that can be documented.

REPORTING RAPE
If you have been raped the most important thing to remember is that it was not your fault.
It is irrelevant what you were wearing, how much you had to drink or whether you were in your own home or out for the evening - you did not ask to be raped. The blame is entirely the perpetrators. If you have not given your consent to have sexual relations or were unable to give your consent (asleep, passed out, drunk) then this is also rape. Even though rape involves forced sex, rape is not about sex or passion. Rape has nothing to do with love. Rape is an act of aggression and violence.

The next step is to get help:
• Go to a safe place such as the home of a trusted friend or family member.
• If you want to report the assault to the police it is up to you. But the sooner you report rape the more forensic evidence can be collected by the police or a SARC.
• Check with your local police station to see if they have a specialist worker. Ask to speak to a specially trained Sexual Offences Liaison Officer (SOLO or SOIT).
• If you are not sure what you want to do, go along, with a friend, to your nearest Sexual Assault Referral Centre where you can have a forensic and medical examination. They can store the forensic results until you make up your mind whether to report to the police or not.
If you do not wish to take legal action, it may be important that you receive medical attention. You do not have to have a forensic examination if you go to SARC, A & E or your GP (General practitioner) . You may need to receive treatment for your injuries, emergency contraception, and checks for STIs.

POLICE PROCEDURES
Reporting to the Police
For a detailed booklet on Reporting to the Police and the Criminal Justice Process - please contact your nearest Rape Crisis Centre for a copy of 'Report to Court A Handbook for Adult Survivors of Sexual Violence'. This booklet is provided by Rights of Women or you can visit their website www.rightsofwomen.org.uk or you can contact them directly 020 7251 8887
Rights of Women is a women's voluntary sector organisation which provides free legal advice and information to women affected by sexual violence.

Some advantages of reporting
• It is an opportunity for you to present your side regarding the rape / incident.
• It is the only chance you have of getting your attacker punished.
• If your attacker is known to you or has power over you; it may be a way of stopping a future situation in which you are likely to be raped again by him.

Some disadvantages
• Reporting does not necessarily mean the rapist will be convicted neither does a conviction necessarily result in a prison sentence.
• You will set in motion a process over which you have little or no control and which is difficult, although not impossible, to stop.

Police Procedures
If you have been recently raped nearly all police investigations begin with forensic evidence collection. This is needed to prove that sexual intercourse took place and it is additional collaborative evidence in prosecution. In cases of stranger rape it can also provide a profile of the attacker. These tests are swabs taken from any area that the assailant came in contact with so:
• Do not wash
• Do not brush your teeth
• Do not have a cigarette
• Do not eat or drink
• Do not change your clothes (or keep them safely to one side)
• Try not go to the toilet
• Do not clear up anything from the area of the incident

Don't worry if you have already done some of these things. It is quite possible that there is still evidence to collect as well as injuries that can be documented.
When you give your statement to the police, do not leave anything out, however embarrassing you think it may be. If you really can't remember, tell them you don't remember, rather than imagining what may have happened. Tell them the truth about how much you had to drink, or if you took any recreational drugs because if the police find out any conflicting evidence later, it will not help the prosecution and may look like you are trying to cover something up.

COMMON STATEMENTS RAPE VICTIMS SAY
“I should not have drunk.”
“If only I did not trust him.”
“I should not have walked alone through the lonely street in the dark.”
“I should not have agreed to meet him.”
“Wish I did not open the door for him.”
“I should not have got into the car with him.”
“I should not have gone to that place in the night.”
“I should not have insulted him.”
“I should not have gone to that party.”
“I should not have worn that dress."

Do these statements sound familiar? Yes, you guessed it right. Those are statements of rape victims who caused themselves for having been raped. And they are right. Most of the rapes could have been avoided if the lady was a little cautious. Actually a big part of not being raped is based on what you do to prevent putting yourself into a situation where you could be raped.
By definition ‘rape’ means nonconsensual sexual contact. There isn’t a single day we do not see the news about rape on the newspapers or TV. Several thousand rapes happen every day, but only a small percentage is known outside or reported. The law discriminates against rape victims in a manner which would not be tolerated by victims of any other crime. Sometimes the victim does not disclose what happened because of fear or bad name. Most of the time Court and Trials take so long and sometime the crime is suppressed by the wealthy and politically influenced by offering bribes to legal authorities or sometimes the victim. So going by the rate of actual rapes it is not wrong to assume that a rapist get caught only after committing at least 20 rapes or only one out of a hundred gets punished by law.
