The World Bank has supported the National Identity Management Commission with protective equipment against Covid-19 worth £172m, to assist the agency to carry out enrolments for National Identification Numbers across the country.

This is coming after NIMC offices witnessed a turnout of large crowds, especially in Lagos and Abuja in a bid to get their NINs, while the website of the commission crashed due to huge volume of traffic.

The Director-General of NIMC, Aliyu Aziz, disclosed that the crowds were difficult to control, admitting that massive traffic on the commission’s website led to its crash recently, but noted that it is being resolved.

The NIMC boss pointed out that the World Bank had to provide some support to the commission’s work with protective equipment to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 disease through the massive crowds showing up at NIMC offices.

I'm a young man of about 30 years. I started to notice this disorder since my juvenile years. Anytime I do stuffs when/where there's no one, I'll do it perfectly with little or no mistakes of any kind. But, once I see people putting too much attention into what I do, I always flop because my heartbeat will increase sporadically which in turn give me unpleasant emotions. And this has been affecting me so much in my daily activities.


An incident occurred in my place of work today, I was instructed by my boss (Medical Doctor) to carry out a laboratory test (PCV and Malarial parasite test) on a patient. In the process of sample collection, my hands were trembling to the extent that I mistakenly pricked myself (thanks to God, it was before I pricked the patient), so I disposed the lancet into a safety box and picked another one.

To those who understand medical laboratory works, you'll know that MP test is one of the simplest test to carry out in the medical aboratory. But I was unable to do it properly because the doctor was with me and some other auxiliary nurses, this brought disgrace to me. Of course, I could diligently carry out the test on my own, but I couldn't cause of the presence of these people.

I don't think it's shyness or shame, (Ex-SUG General Secretary and Ex-departmental President of a reputable higher institution for that matter) so I relate with people very well and I'm outspoken too.

Please, how do I get out of this pit of anxiety I fell into? It's eating me up day by day.
