Streetinvestor2:#BetOnOando Specially for you. https://www.cnbcafrica.com/media/6364224464112/oanda-ceo-on-building-energy-infrastructure-in-africa-/ |
Hogwarthtrades:Reminds me of "MarketWatch". They had stocks visually represented in squares that would glow red or green as the market data changes. It was cool back in the days. @Toyeoye Passionate, driven, responsive, innovative ......... Way to go! Good on ya bruh! @Megawealth01 Your bargain entry price for Aradel must have been a wickdt one. You no rate Aradel be that. I think it's safe to buy below N500. We can almost say every Aradel employee don buy finish at those levels. Yawa go gas for office if Aradel no deliver. Their MD go hear ween. Jokes!!! |
Streetinvestor2:Haha......that cracked me up big time. ![]() Fake it till you make it. Na so neighbours go dey call lab attendant "doctor" or mechanic "engineer". Feel good! ![]() They are truly a cocoa company but have been the doldrums for years. Same way Naija (particularly because of the SW) is a cocoa country on ground and not just on paper but we all know the story. For JapaulSand, since they acquired real Gold companies with mining licences that should justify their name change to JapaulGold? ![]() |
Sunrisepebble:Probably plus Seplat was already more expensive than peers particularly Aradel. Going on offer may be an over-reaction though but some punters may have been looking to sell the news. |
KarlTom:Market reaction to the news?........... Not surprised. |
Omooloriredade:https://punchng.com/n2-7tn-debt-nigerians-face-blackout-as-gas-producers-cut-supply-to-gencos/ An age-long problem, a systemic issue needing a fix. It's 2024 and it's still going on. Multi-faceted issues that I'd rather not go into. Not suggesting Oando will be distributing shares in their power plant just backing my commentary about asset rich entities that could be facing temporary cash crunch or dollars to pay gas suppliers. It is left to investors to decide if they won't accept shares in a working power plant experiencing temp cash crunch due to a broken system. Again, just an example. No idea what Oando is planning. |
BabsO2:When it comes to regulatory disclosures and investor relations, Seplat has such a high standard that it may be almost impossible for Oando to match. Oh boy! See detailed presentation na. A lot of work sifting through the web, results to find corresponding data on Oando. |
Sunrisepebble:Good move. Was this a plan B after the Renaissance/Shell deal fell through or maybe it was meant to be the icing on the cake? Looks like the latter. As per their previous press release, the quest to acquire Shell's asset is still on. I like the moves being made in the O&G sector. |
Streetinvestor2:Yes, it is too small but like I noted earlier, acquiring Covenant Gems and H&H Mines means some of that infrastructure is on ground albeit on a reduced scale. An upgrade to existing infrastructure is required. Capital intensive but very rewarding. There is no difference between crude and solid minerals in terms of the opportunity to make money. To compete with the big boys who have seen the light and will be entering this space, they will need access to more capital. Speaking of the big boys, I foresee acquisitions in this space. Think Oando, Glencore etc buying up the small ones sitting on certified reserves but without sufficient capital to go to production or scale up. Please have a read of the plan linked below https://japaul-cloud-2048base.online/archive/public/docs/Gold_Mining_Investment_Fund.pdf To have a grasp of the potential here, please have a read of Segilola Gold project, a nearology play to JapaulGold. Mining terminology to indicate close proximity to an existing discovery. By the way, JapaulGold reserves have already been certified so they are past the nearology speculation phase. https://thorexpl.com/projects/segiliola-gold-project/ 2022 was first year of production, 98,000 ounces of Gold. 85,000 ounces expected in 2024. An ounce is about $2,675. You do the maths and convert to Naira. ![]()

Streetinvestor2:I think it's in line with international standards. It takes about two years from feasibility studies (PFS and DFS) for a mine to be fully ready for production. An important factor to consider is the availability of capital sha. The first few years is spent building the infrastructure that will support the mine - camp for workers, establishing transport channels - mine to refinery or port, power and water solutions etc. Pretty sure you should be able to see the camp from google earth if you have the coordinates. I believe Japaul will be starting with a pilot plant to get the cash coming in first. Then they will scale up with time. Point to note though, Japaul is making an entry into this space via acquisition of companies with some existing infrastructure. The one you are referring to is artisanal mining which is what is prevalent in Nigeria. Dig up the "ore", do basic processing and sell off (usually below actual value). I have seen media coverage of some of these miners. |
megawealth01:I don edit that post bring out your own file o ......haha. Your probation period don start ![]() |
Locotrader:It's all good bro. We move. I get one research I go share on Japaul but na 2025 I go drop am. I don't see anything happening the next few weeks/months in my opinion. |
brodalikeme:Oh! I see where you are coming from. Yes, it was made in response to what she said to Mike. I edited her post to remove the unpleasant part so she could have an opportunity to edit her post later when she's good. That way, there is no trail of it. She has done just that. God know say I no lie when I talk say I have a unique lived-in experience with and an understanding of women........haha. @Mercy Make we try to dey understand each other and not fight one another unnecessarily. It will be difficult to police or censor what people post here. Mike, Sb, Prophet, Bagwa et al will always be drawn to post about Oando and they should be allowed to do so as much as they wish. Mega can't help but flash teeth. Wetin we go do? We will just have to accommodate a lot of things but if we have to correct, we do it gracefully. They will most likely receive it better that way otherwise, if they are defiant, what can one do?@Toluway, our own na "ego". A lot of men have fallen because of it. @Agba, you need a saviour. |
essentialone:Yes sir. ![]() |
Agbalowomeri: ![]() Omo I fear when I see responses to my post. Please don't be offended o. Ah! It was not intended to cause harm to anyone o. Instead of she-goat, I fit go meet Oando prophet for prayers of forgiveness na. Sincerely, if any of the women here took offence at that post, it wasn't my intention at all |
essentialone:I guessed as much and that's perfectly understood Keen to see how the women here perceive it though. In my enviroment (growing up and now), such topics are openly discussed. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Actually, it is men that make it a taboo to mention things like that. ![]() |
essentialone: brodalikeme: GeeKudi:Wow! Wow!! Wow!!! You guys may have misinterpreted my posts completely. I'm shocked with your responses. I grew up a lone guy among so many women - mother, sisters, cousins, aunties - all women. It was common for them to blame hormonal changes when they misbehaved. They used it to get away with so many things. As a man, you are meant to have this understanding and not over-react when a woman snaps "occasionally". Used in like manner in my response. She is not known to react that way or use such language here in NSEMPA. It's clear it was out of character for her to respond to Mike that way not to talk less of including everyone that liked his post. Did you notice the reference to Hormones was posed as a question? A rhetoric one she obviously wouldn't answer but that she can relate with as her body undergo these changes regularly. That first line was to let her know I understand why she could have reacted that way and offer her a solution to take a break. I am keen to understand how it's perceived by you guys. As I have explained earlier, I have an understanding of these things and the women in my life (including acquintances) make mention of these changes when it influences their behaviour. Also, my Lagos reference was to make her understand the gravity of her actions while still not being too direct. Sincerely, I would like to ask the women in here. Did anyone of you feel disrespected by that question? I noticed it the men that have quoted me so far? Mercy, did you find it condescending? Well that could have been a poor attempt at de-escalating an issue while still passing a message to her. I'd appreciate a women's perspective on this. Maybe I'm missing something and if I am, please accept my unreserved apology o. |
yMcy56:Hormones at work? Take a break.I won't attempt to tell you what's good or bad. You sabi. Just reminded me of "iyalaya gbogboyin". Na one person offend them o but them go lump everybody and anybody wey them see even passers-by for motor park ![]() Chai! Lagos! |
Locotrader:Aww! This is why I am a fan of the great Loco. I wish you well. Chams has prospects so it should come good for you eventually. I doubt you can hold on to Chams for 6mths to 1 year though. |
pluto09:Please don't take my word for it. It was not an official NGX release. Considering the context of the meeting, Oando assumed operatorship of the JV with NNPCL and was providing an update/scorecard to the JV partner. Sort of a progress report or impact assessment to NNPCL since taking over. I'll assume Oando was referring to JV output not it's 40% share of output for below reasons: 1. Oando appeared to be spruiking its achievement. Assume pre-initial or base output is Xboepd. 2. A 50% increase in Oando's production share post acquisition is infact a decrease in JV output. Not something you would celebrate. 3. Mathematically, post acquisition figures will be Xboepd + Xboepd = 2Xboepd. If you read and understood the news to mean Oando's share is now 1.5X, it means the JV has lost 25% of its production. The NNPCL should have issued Oando a "Please explain" so the meeting should not be one for champagne popping. I don't expect NNPCL to join Oando in celebrating a 50% increase it's share of the JV ONLY because of NAOC's asset while NNPCL actually suffered a loss. 4. Q2 production figure was 24,389boepd, if we assume they were able to sustain this rate till August when the acquisition was completed, Oando's share without any increase in JV output should be 48,778boepd. That is, base case is 2X already without any production increase. 5. If we can safely arrive at the conclusion that the 50% increase in production is in fact JV increase and not the outcome of NAOC assets acquisition (which doesn't make mathematical sense), Oando might be implying they are now producing 73,167boepd. Please note assumptions carefully. If there had been a significant decline in production prior to the period being considered, then the 50% JV production increase could also be misleading. Conclusion - Make everybody (reporters, NNPCL, Oando etc) rest small. Lets start with Q3 result first. |
Agbalowomeri:You bought an insurance stock, didn't you? Which explanation again? Their turn never reach? CHI looked good to me. Still not sure why it's taking MB forever to release results. Their last few quaterlies didn't look bad to me. ![]() Disclaimer - Look before you leap o. Not a recommendation to buy or sell. |
zendi: Omooloriredade:For now, I'll run with my theories on Oando until they are disproved by NGX annoucements. They seem to be right on the money so far. Disclaimer - Na play o. Make I no go mislead the simple ones. |
mails4funshi:The AGM audio was pretty bad so it was difficult to follow. Did they say they have 500 pigs now? Shot them a few questions via email but no response yet. Why is it taking them so long to complete the CPO mill? Anyway, I still believe they will come good eventually. They are making good progress. Why does it seem like shareholders jostle to move and second motions in AGMs? You should not miss the opportunity to ask management important questions about the business at the AGM. Anyway, I just think it's hilarious that the energy in the room goes through the roof when it's time for motions to be moved. ![]() Disclaimer - Not a recommendation to buy or sell. Ellah still has a lot to prove. |
cocolacec:Oh! I got those off the "News" tab of Morgan iTrade. I don't follow the news as such. I only check when I'm bored. ![]() You have to sieve through to find the useful ones though. Pretty sure other brokers would have something similar.
|
ojeysky:We need to raise our game true true ![]() Was there no prep or prestaging done before the actual meeting? jadyclem:@emmasoft I don't know your position in Investment One but I commend your effort in trying to resolve customer issues raised on this platform. BUT I have a question still: Is the email account not monitored? I wonder why a customer's enquiry will go unanswered for weeks. Actually, it's a rhetoric question. One of those little things that are often overlooked by organisations or people in business. |
mails4funshi:Thank you. |
bovali:Not immediately but eventually. Refer disclosure shared by @Sunrisepebble.
|
Sunrisepebble:Awesome!!! Thank you. @Xidget please take note. I was going to quote you but decided against it. The market will track/chase the Chinese valuation eventually. Also, transaction will be completed in 2025. We know how these things drag on forever before regulatory approval is received. The mandatory takeover might not happen until late 2025 (at the earliest) or early 2026. The market is generally not stupid. The mandatory takeover price can't be less than what the chinese are paying now (current valuation + premium). They will still have to propose an offer when that time comes but I reckon this news will sustain the market SP regardless of financial results between now and then. Disclaimer - I made no reference to any target price o. Oh no! Did I? This is not a recommendation to buy or sell. DYOR or consult your investment adviser. |
Sunrisepebble:When? I don't think so o. I was referring to this emergency meeting on a Sunday before trading starts on Monday 02/12. Am I missing something?
|
vacanci:"I remember we were shouting here that the visit to that farm was a scam but most no want to even listen at all. Herd mentality no good." This was not an encouraging entry from you either. It probably influenced the tone of my response to you too. We can all do better? ![]() |
Sunrisepebble:Good info, Sunrisepebble. Calculation on point too except for the exchange rate used. Emergency meeting required indeed now that the info is out there. |
I think it's safe to buy below N500. We can almost say every Aradel employee don buy finish at those levels. Yawa go gas for office if Aradel no deliver. Their MD go hear ween.
