I hope you followed up your email with a letter sent by post. They replied my letter and promised to inform me when it is time to issue a replacement visa, at extra cost though. Still waiting and hoping . Their email has not been read for more than 6 months so if you sent them email , it could take many more weeks to read and reply. If you have not sent a letter by post please do so , stating your case number, and they will hopefully reply by email. Good luck.

Can I send you a private email pls?

My favourite is -

I believe that Jesus died for me
A sacrifice beyond my understanding
Offering himself in place of me
Oh! How can I repay the Lord?

Father, to you we offer
O my Jesus, to you this gift we bring
Holy ghost, accept this offering, which we offer unto you

I believe all that the scripture said
About the love beyond my understanding
Forgiveness beyond comprehension
Oh! How can I repay the Lord?

Teach me Lord to love you as I ought
O teach me Lord to love you all my lifetime
Spreading love wherever I find myself
Oh! How can I repay the Lord?

You can say that again, soooo peaceful. Same with me...though I attend a Pentecostal Church.

It was a funny situation then. I didn't go to mass again after that day. I went back to my Pentecostal church but anytime service was going on, I would just find myself not dancing, I would be wondering about the Catholic church. 2 years after, I gave up and went to join the catholics

The dwelling place of God,
we shall be His people
And He shall be our Lord and God.

People called by God through the Word of the

people brought together in the House of the Lord,
people who attend to their Lord..

This song gives me goose pimples anytime I'm processing to the altar as an altar server especially if I'm the one carrying the crucifix.

One of the reasons I love Catholic church...the Hymns...My God! Heaven on Earth. People dey sing shaaa...Attended one in Sakumono, Accra. I had to strain my neck to be sure if it were humans singing. praise moves the hands of God.
Happy Sunday Charlies!!!

The first time I attended Catholic church, I was so glued. The serenity, the peaceful aura... I just told myself, this is where I belong

The earlier the better. Let us just do our part.

Hopefully not all visas are expired. How can they expire a visa I have not yet received? It doesn’t make sense. The worst they ought to do is advise to do medical again before traveling since you are only required to take the medical with you when going and it has very little to do with visa issuance.
I am disappointed that they are not giving clear instructions to everyone on what to do. I will wait for more information before I travel to Lagos to collect my passport. I don’t want to do the trip three times.

It's annoying though. Visa I never received is expired already. Don't bother to come. They willsend a pick up mail to you

Call them and explain too them, there should be a way to bypass it, you aren't the only one in these boat

I met a lady at DHL who came for renewal. She said I will have to rebook for medical test again. Then go back to embassy to pay for visa fee again. Will pay for renewal and submit my passport. After which I will be called back to collect my passport with the new visa.

We are in the same shoe. My online status is issued since March but I've not been called. Also, I went to DHL last month to ask for the passport but was informed that all passports are with them in the embassy and none with them. However, I was informed delivery of passports to DHL have started that week. So, I'm still waiting.

@Omowaleola, let me suggest that since your status reads ISSUED on CEAC then you better visit DHL asap for collection and make your travel plans asap before the visa expires

You're restricted to 6 months from the date of issue of the visa to travel to the nearest POE barring which you would be required to pay for reissuance of your visa and possibly do another medicals.

When were you interviewed?

March 5. But we were told message will be sent when the passport is ready and it hasn't be sent. So, the passport should still be at the embassy.

So this man who killed a married woman wasn't admitted, right?
You are senseless, at least think before you talk.
Those priests sleeping with your mother and sisters, were not given admission, right?

Please, you need to see a psychologist. You are still hurting.

So simple. Report him to his bishop. That's all.

stevmatt15:

Brother, I am a devout Catholic, I didn't say a priest didn't write any for me, but the one they requested must come from your parish priest, I mean your present parish priest, so we did by getting one from our parish priest, but what you don't understand is that, we were 75 that came to the exam to which 35 passed, now out of that 35, do you think they are going to choose on merit, NO, they won't. because they only need at least 5-8 persons to be admitted that year. they. So let's see it this way. If the Bishop, vicar General, assistant to the Bishop, treasural, secretary, or those lecturers in the seminary school gave a list of those they recommended or suggested or wished to join the seminary, do you think the Vocation directors will drop those candidate to choose we that only came with a recommendation letter from a priest we are not that acquainted to, remember that even the Vocation directors has his own cherish candidate including the people his friends wishes to include in the seminary. THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENT THAT YOU ARE AN ALTAR SERVER IN A PARISH AND THAT YOU ARE A RELATIVE OF A PARISH PRIEST. I hope u definitely understand where I base my word? The same politics plays in recruiting soldiers, police, custom, etc is been played the worse in church. I believe you are a Nigerian, well, since none of your relatives has experience it, you may think I am lying. I still have the recommendation letters two priest gave to me here. Have you ever seen a poor and educated and intelligent man become the PRESIDENT OF THE CATHOLIC MEN ORGANISATION, or a poor woman become a Leader in the women organisation?
No, you must be rich and well connected, some women do sleep with priests to get that position, which is likely to be the reason the wife of this man died on bed with a priest. My brother, stop seeing those white garment men as Jesus. Many but not all are Jezebel's Husband AHAB. I REST MY CASE.

No wonder you couldn't get through to the seminary

Internet just dey connect us from every level, which are from odeomu brother

I'm from ile asamu in Ode omu. I read the story concerning your relationship with your nephews and niece. Please, do not abandon them.
I can relate well to the story. My father died in 1995 in his sleep. I was just 4 then. We buried him in Ode omu and that was the last time I was there.
My mother never had solid relationship with them. My mum made up believe the village people killed our father. The story was believable because we never saw any of my dad's family. I could remember when Gbenga Adeboye died, my mum said 'your village people have killed the only popular celeb in their village, that is their job'.
When I became independent, I tried to get more facts, then I realized my Father's family are not bad people. Just trying to connect with them now but it's never the same. Most of them are late, I really don't know my root because they withdrew just as you are doing now. Just do your part, the children will realize the truth one day and they will appreciate it. This is the time, not when you are late.

God bless you too. You know, I realized there's a difference between being raised in the faith and actually personally accepting the faith when you're old enough to think for yourself. It seems the later is the real deal.

For the former, we were only shown the way. Accepting that way when we've grown, and continuing in it, takes a lot. We grew up to ask a lot of questions and try out so many different ideologies, on our quest for truth. That's actually okay because finally coming back to where you were raised in, means you've wandered out and couldn't find solace anywhere else, and you've realized that the religion you were raised in, is where you can find real peace and answers.

So, I wouldn't say I'm beginning a journey. I'd rather say I'm coming back to where I belong and I'm doing it with some modifications as to how it fits me, without going astray.
For instance, I'm a hymns person. I'm connected to the spirit through hymns than actual prayers. Also, I'm not the kill-my-enemy kind of person, rather I'm a be-good-to-others kind of person.

Oops...this long post is not for you, though grin
I got lost in the expression of my thoughts smiley

Are you me? Growing up in a kill-me-i-kill-you faith, I questioned so many things. I unintentionally found myself at a catholic mass in 2004. As they were singing the hymns, I was touched, all the hymns stuck to my memory, I prefer hymns till date.
I lated read the simple catechism of the catholic church and got baptized at the age of 16. It has been full of bliss since then. I get to know who I worship and not worship out of fear.

Remember that last week US Govt instructed all citizens and permanent residents worldwide to immediately return to US otherwise be ready to stay outside indefinitely. This is a warning that a total lockdown may be imminent in the very near future because they are expecting situation in the US to get worse. I don’t really want to send my 60+ years old to US at this time because they are the most vulnerable.

I understand. I'm also not ready to travel for now. I'm asthmatic so I'm vulnerable also. I just wanted to be sure if the passport is not released due to the coronavirus or if there is an omission on my own side. BTW, Visa expires in 6 months so no rushing. Thanks.

It was about a week. I was checking the CEAC website for visa status obsessively every day and it kept showing up as "refused". FInally after a week it showed "Issued", I then check the ustravel visa doc website the next day and it showed the passport was ready for pickup. I think I also received an email as well the next day that the passport was ready for pickup. Of course the email didnt say if one had been issued a visa or not. In all have faith it may take a bit longer for your's to come out... maybe 2 weeks even. Hang in there. Keep checking ceac.state.gov for your visa status.

According to CEAC, my visa has been issued. The consular officer told me my passport will be ready in 2 weeks and only a week has passed. The reason I'm asking is because I didn't register on the visa doc website. So, I just wanted to know if the pick up message will be sent to my email cos I'm finding it difficult to register my profile on the visa doc page. Thanks.

Please, I would like to know the duration between your interview and when you got your pick-up message. Also, was the pick up message sent directly to your e-mail or on the site?
