[You act like you are so perfect that you don't ever make mistakes. To me that's pride. Help if you will and if not shut up haba. Nigerians this Nigerians that are you not one.

Depends on the school. Some are so competitive that they have equally excellent students on waiting lists. In addition, we Nigerians are used to simply making decisions on the fly, no plan, no respect for others plans and time. That doesn't work elsewhere. A lot of schools like to be prepped. If you can't make it on resumption day, you should have known well in advance and informed them so they can make necessary adjustments. Unless you died or fell seriously sick and thus incapacitated, you should be able to know if you can make it on orientation day or not.[/quote]

Visa Status Finally changed to ISSUED about an hour ago. After exactly one month on Administrative Processing.
This was truly one test of my patience and trust in God.

I wish all other people stuck in the "AP hole" success.

Thanks to all members of this great Forum.

Mine also changed to issued after 2weeks of waiting. God be praised.

Deboadekoya93:

You can request for an emergency interview from the interview booking website. All you need is a letter from your school stating you need a nearer date so as to meet up. That was what I did and I got an early interview date.

Please I have another question for my cousin in Abuja. The resumption date on his I-20 January is 3rd, the next available date for an interview in Abuja is Janaury 8th. Though he contacted his school for a late arrival letter. Can he go ahead with the late arrival letter and the I20 that states January 3rd for the interview ? Thanks.

My transcript. My interview was in Abuja.

Vo: why are you going to study in the US?
Me: I did consider other international destinations but I choose to study in the US because of the academic flexibility that allows me to take electives from other programs which I believe will help broaden my academic knowledge.
Vo: what program are you going to study?
Me: public administration and I will be specializing in non profit organization.
Vo: why are you going to study public administration?
Me: I have chosen to study public administration because of my passion for humanitarian services as I run a non profit organization where I work with 20 children. I talked about what we do in the organization
Vo: how many schools did you apply to?
Me:3 I mentioned all three.
Vo: why did you choose auburn uni
Me: I choose auburn because of how the program is structured as I am allowed to take courses that suits my area of interest which is non profit organization and also because the University is in partnership with about 400/500 organizations some of which are UNESCO,W.H.O just to mention a few. Their partnership will allow me do short term internship with any of these organization during my program. I will gain both academic knowledge and hands on experience studying at auburn.
Vo:Who is your sponsor ?
Me: my uncle but myself and my husband also have saving
Vo: how are you related?
Me: my uncle is my mother's brother
Vo: what does he do?
Me: his a real estate developer
Vo: I will be placing your application on administrative check and you will be contacted in a week.

Hi I was also given a yellow paper and the AP was also ticked but the VO collected my uncle's SOA as I had mine with me. Did they call your sponsor?

Oluiyke1984:
My transcript.
My interview was on the 8th of sept. 2017 at Abuja.
We left Ajah Lagos at about 8:45am 7th sept. and got to Abuja 7:45am, an hour 15mins to my interview, escaped 3 accident scenes.

Vo: good morning sir
Me: how r you, good morning dear
Vo: fine thank you, plz pass me your doc.
Me: passed my pee, SEVIS fee receipt and i20
Vo: where r you going?
Me: am going to California Miramar university and i stated the physical address, vo nodded and said good
Vo: for?
Me: my MBA and my program starting so so date, all through to so so date.
Vo: how did you get to know about the school?
Me: yeah, I got to know about the school from a facilitator when I went for a workshop at Lagos business school, this facilitator happens to be a professor and an alumni of the school.
I got him engaged and he told me a whole lot about the school. I made a further research, emailed Carol kulis the DSO to know the course outline, emailed Jim foster who's the operational officer to know the crime rate of the school and also the crime rate of San Diego, lastly, I emailed prof. Kimberly to confirm the details I got from those two.
Vo: who filled your ds-160?
Me: I did
Vo: ok, what will this MBA do for you and why MBA?
Me: it's a requirement for a managerial post in my company.
Aside the managerial skills am going to gain I will also gain leadership skill, these skills are very important and useful for growing my career more also it will prepare me to face the challenges involved in managing a firm and to understand the problem solving technologies in other to implement change. All these am going to get in CMU with the best global practices which can be modelled for use here when I come back to my country.
Vo: when did you graduate and what have you been doing since then.
Me: I graduated 2011, after my graduation I went for the compulsory NYSC for 1 year I then got a job at Snapshots studios, ( I told her my job discribtion) worked there for 2 years, then got a better job offer at so so coy where I am presently.
Vo: how much is your annual pay?
Me: 5,820,000 (485,000*12)
Vo: how many schools did you apply to
Me: 3
Vo: mention them sir
Me me mentioned them and told her all admitted me.
Vo: why CMU
Me: affordable same tuition fee regardless of international or domestic student, small class rooms offering high faculty student interaction, prof. Knows all students by their full names vo cuts in ok ok ok.
Vo: who's sponsoring you
Me: mentioned a company's name and told her it's a family business.
Vo: can I see your SOA?
Me: I only brought the doc. Ds-160 asked to bring (with confidence cos I no carry any doc go apart from my pee, SEVIS and i20)
Vo: your right but I need to be sure you will be able to pay for the school.
Me: I had it sent to the school and I believe the school would have done all necessary evaluation.
Vo: am going to issue you a yellow paper
Me: go ahead plz (cos I no want make she ask any other question cos i was carried away by the guy at the next window denied a guy and the guy come dey cry with abeg)

So I was issued a yellow paper and I was on AP, she checked school transcript on the yellow paper instead of SOA, I sent the transcript and a month later they emailed me to submit my SOA which I did. 2 weeks later my visa was issued.

For those on AP, no worries as long as your doc. Is genuine.

Biggggggg thanx to this thread. Mama of Lagos, e pe fun wa. Thanx to all.
How you fill your ds-160 maters.

Its okay. Life in Auburn is as soft as it could get. It all depends on your lifestyle and social inclinations.
Pertaining to financial aid, there are some on-campus employment that you could clinch. Your academic strength can also open doors for you as intelligence and diligence is highly appreciated here.

On a lighter note, pack as many quality jeans as you can afford unless you plan to wear bum shorts because that's the only cheap variety of jean available. grin

Thank you so much. I will do abit of winter shopping now as I am currently in the UK. Hopefully I will connect with you before coming by God's grace. Thanks once again.

Not all courses give financial aid in form of GAs
Some professional masters such as MBA, MPP, MPA, MIDP in most universities do not give GA or RA
The highest you can get is partial or full tuition scholarships, but you must be able to cater for your living expenses at least

I didn't get financial aid.

I am very sure oo. The agent called to inform him and he decided to discontinue his application as his sister was going to be his sponsor. He doesn't want to get another refusal cos he already has a Canadian refusal.

Hi guys just a quick info. Australia changed their sponsorship list last week. Only your parents, spouse and yourself can sponsor your studies in australia. There is also a new format for statement of purpose from the australian embassy. Info gotten from Bcie.

Please dont say others are misleading people because you have different opinion.

I understand how it feels when you are on study visa while others came on PR, dont forget that there is high probability that you will still be waiting on skill select if not study visa.

You people mention PR as if once you have posive assessment and with good english and you register on skillselect, you will just get nominated like that.

What about the classifications of our degrees not comparable to australia by some assessment bodies.

Occupations in accountings and ict has almost reached ceiling in the first quarter and points to be nominated and selected was also increased.

I know people that have spent years and months without being selected especially occupations except the ones mentioned by the man (yeyen) above.

If you have the means, the best is study route instead of wasting time while policies and systems becomes unfavorable.

If you have a spouse, good for you as you can support each other.

Thank you jare. I agree with you 100per

If you have experience, the best advice would be for you to go via PR ( permanent residency). When you arrive you can decide on what best to do over there or probably work.
NB: if your main aim is to stay back after schooling

I have read the Pr thread and I discovered that post pple there are either engineers or in the medical Field. My husband has banking experience while I have administrative experience.

Sister in law isn't strong enough but you can give it a shot, the school might even reject it as not meeting GTE criteria.

Yes you can use more than one account.

So far it shows funds available and evidence of relationship between the student and the sponsor.

you are far too kind. Thank you very much.

Yes she can sponsor you. Though AL1 schools might not accept as GTE.

Why can't she sponsor her sister instead of you and you guys will still achieve the same purpose?

She's my husband's sister. I want to use my husband as my social. My husband just denied Canadian study visa and we decided I try this time around. Can I submit more than one bank statement of my sponsor. My mum uses about 3 accounts and just one statement might not be sufficient. That's y I was considering using my sister in law.
Thank you for your quick response. I am grateful.

excuse me? Mind you I questioned ''what's the name of the intended program in particular not PGC(D)'' as I had already seen somewhere he re-posted that he opted for PGC program.furthermore I never went against his option for PGC. However, he applied with a pgc program which does not correlate with his background and the VO heavily talked down on that and you expect me to encourage fruitless mission? Mind you in canada, you can't see any Pgc program fully related not partially to ECONOMICS and even BANKING if i am right except in masters level. I don't talk insensible on this thread,I will say it again it is either he goes for masters program if possible,or choose another country or he continues reapplying with that program/even with supply-chain management he is suggesting for,10pages of SOP wouldn't salvage the situation and still he would be getting that same refusal reasons.
you can go and encourage him as i don't encourage mediocre applications.
