I believe what you stated above applies only to a common web designer........i mean if you are a web developer that can develop a portal for a school where each student would have his/her own page with personal details, results, blah blah blah showing or you can develop a site for a hotel where customers from far and beyond can easily book online then i see no reason why u should struggle. The problem many web developers have(and my main beef with them) is that when they learn all those codes they just sit back and wait for people to come knocking at their door with jobs in hand instead of them actually going out to schools, hotels, hospitals, companies with proposals to market. I cant imagine a web developer that follows all these marketing trends earning less than 300k a month and when the gurus that actually market come out to state how much they earn you'll see a lot of lazy dudes saying "its just impossible".
Well my point here is.......dont just be a normal web developer(developing static pages) learn how to create web 2.0 applications(extremely dynamic sites) and when you do learn web 2.0 dont sit back and expect jobs...move around and market your stuff........PEACE!!!

@g+ my main problem with your proposed specs is dat the html tags are overly dependent on css styles. for example the list tag you specified can only be defined with a declaration in css(type: ul or type: ol) what wld one do if he is to use a definition list(dl) nd remember ppl can turn of css frm their browsers you know......so by this you are hurting the law of progressive enhancement(errything shld work fine nd be accessible even if one or more of the features re turned off e.g. javascript,css)

your site only shows us the requirements....it doesnt tell us how to get the vpn and whatever we need

I'm a web developer fresh from training but i've got this itchy feeling about getting my first client(kinda shy). After training i've come to realise that raw skill and real world marketing are two different things cuz u have to market your skills anyway.
Well the bottom line is this....I need advice on how to go out into the real world market and get clients to build sites for. I have this idea to go to a nearby primary school to make a proposal(which i have no idea how i'll go about that).
NOTE: I do not have any online website that i can show as part of my portfolio...i've got one (almost finished) on my system tho buh lackin funds to host online as i wanna use the proceeds from my first job to do that.

The fact that this is a new engine is no excuse to have numerous flaws.....for Christ sake they had 12 months of testing so u mean to tell me they couldnt fix the problem? Take Fifa for example.......they introduced the new impact engine in Fifa 12 which was a major success now they have released the Ignite engine for fifa 14 which simulates a real world environment. Its no suprise that fifa always bangs a rating of 9.5 outta 10 while pes always languishes at 7.5 with an all time best rating of 8.0(pes 13). All you pes fans can hate fifa as much as u want buh it would never change the fact that fifa always tops in ratings and you'll have to go all the way back to pes 6 to find pes beating fifa.

I'm kinda a newbie in the field(although I've completed my training of course)and can develop a website but i still get the chills when i think of how to go out there to get clients to develop websites for maybe its a fear of the real field. The thing that intimidates me the most(and i came across it here on nairaland) is that people dont tend to trust webdesigners that go about carrying just a briefcase without an office to backup. Quite frankly all i have is just my laptop bag so i wanna know the most effective method to tackle the market and sustain a healthy clientele with just my briefcase as my office. Sorry bro buh I disagree maybe that HTC has all dose limitations but check out the nokia lumia windows 7 fones........dey've got all those features. If you wanna get a windows fone, d best choice is Nokia Lumia series.

D reason a plane slows down dramatically when the wheels come out for landing is DRAG...This means as the wheels come out it opposes the airflow or simply put "stops air from flowing through the region where d wheels are" normally when the wheels come out it slows a jet down by abt 30KIAS(knots).
Secondly, Pilots don't sleep when the plane is on autopilot. Autopilot wasn't designed so that a pilot would sleep while the plane is in the air, it was designed so that a pilot would get his hands off the main controls of the plane(I.e Control column,throttle,elevator and aileron trims....e.t.c) this would give the pilot more time to inspect other flight instruments and react quickly to a fault without having to bother about the main flight controls.
Thirdly, mobile phones don't affect electronics on board. The reason why mobile phones are not allowed on board is that the radio waves from the mobile phone could interfere with the radio waves coming from the control tower to the pilot flying the plane thereby cutting off communication between those two which is extremely dangerous.
Fourthly, the reason a plane flies and cars don't is because a plane has WINGS. Its jst like asking why birds fly and dogs don't afterall they both move their bodies. A plane's wings are created in such a way that there is a slight curve on the top of the wing while the bottom is flat. Due to the curve at the top of the wing air has more surface to cover than at the bottom of the wing. This causes a difference in pressure between the top and the bottom parts of the wing with the bottom part having more pressure. Due to this phenomenom we have an upward force generated called LIFT.
