mudiwest:Whoa, this is good news! Your timeline is similar to mine: May 9, 2021. I'm glad the long and tortuous wait has finally ended for you, as I hope that mine ends soonest. Meanwhile, were there some especial things you did while waiting for your approval? Congratulations! |
Teemenzo:So sorry about that. You've gotta purge yourself of the ill feelings resulting from it and refire. God no go shame you in your next application. |
Aijay26:How were you able to get the mandatory Invite Code to create your login account? |
nairagrounds:Congratulations! |
Dolly91:Niagara, precisely. I had to google the MP representing my school region. It was between 5 to 6 days. |
Leyemoshood:"I spoke with IRCC today. I learned that your application is at the office in Nairobi. The medicals and criminal records check were completed and passed. Both are now on file. You may need an interview, but a final decision on that has not been made. If they require an interview, you will be contacted. IRCC has received the webform that you recently submitted, and it was added to your file. To sum it up, the file is under review by IRCC and you now must wait for a decision. Currently there is no further action required on your part." That's the feedback I got from the MP's assistant. May God quicken our testimonies. |
Leyemoshood:Tomorrow, being 9th November, makes my application six months. I have sent a lot of email to all the IRCC's processing centres around the world and raised web forms at different times; yet, I got the same response: "your application is under active review..." I have also applied for my GCMS note since September 18th, but I'm yet to get it. But I've written to the MP representing the constituency where my school is situated for his intervention. One of his assistants responded to my email and obliged to call IRCC to inquire about the status of my application, which she actually did and gave me a feedback on. See the email contact of the MP representing Ontario Province below, that's if your school is located within the province. Baldinelli, Tony - M.P. Tony.Baldinelli@parl.gc.ca |
ezeonlinebiz:This is very saddening! However, I implore you not to give up. Your next attempt could be your stroke of fortune. Order your notes. I'm pretty sure that most gurus here would be happy to assist you tackle the issues raised in your notes by the VO. More so, why don't you consider taking a loan from Mpower to improve your POF? Remember that winners never quit; and quitters never win. We shall definitely rejoice with you. |
Cloudweb:Congratulations! It's the Lord's doing. |
makano:The Honorable Makano, Abeg, na joke I dey ooo . As I see say all man dey vex wella for the matter wey been dey for ground, I come reason am say e go make brain to crack una ribs small, at least to put some smiles for una face. Nobi that kinda grammar I blow for my SOP ooo ...abi you wan make the VO nack me akpako? @Grazat2021, na play play I dey ooo...just wanted us to laugh it off. |
@Grazat2021, your recalcitrance was obviously inordinate and a stark display of vulgarity in the first place. The least I had expected from you was a total acquiescence to what most members of this forum had expected from you, regardless of whatever. This is because people's timelines enrich this platform with invaluable pieces of information that act as a torchlight on the paths of newbies whose hallowed journeys to the Maple Land have just begun. It is simply called Social Responsibility. |
Teemenzo:Amen! Best wishes. |
Teemenzo:Thanks for your words of encouragement. What actually prompted the request for additional medical examinations was their suspicion that I might have a TB, following the result of my first chest x-ray. But I thank God it was negative. The review of my eligibility and background check have started since the second week of August. I really wonder what the heck they're still reviewing till now. Maybe my application has been classified under the complex category. Someone in the past on this thread also had a similar experience, as he had to wait for six solid months before getting a final decision on his application. The silence is epic indeed! But God no go shame us las las. |
Teemenzo:I submitted my study visa application on the 9th of May, 2021; I'm still waiting for the IRCC's final decision on my application. After my upfront e-Medical sheet was received by the immigration, I was required to undergo additional medical examinations—sputum investigations, precisely—which I did within the given time frame. Three months after my previous medicals at IOM, the IRCC demanded that I do another chest x-ray as a followup to the one I did initially. Thereafter, the result was said to be negative, and my medical status was updated to "you passed the medical..." some two months ago. Ever since then, I've been on a tortuous wait to hear from the IRCC. I've sent innumerable emails and raised a lot of web forms, too. On the 18th of September, I applied for my GCMS notes to ascertain the status of my application. I am still waiting for my notes to come. At some point in time, I just wanted to hear about my application, not minding what the outcome might be in order to cool off from the tensions I have had to endure from the delay. However, I am still very optimistic that my good news would come soonest. Meanwhile, I have already deferred my admission to next fall, being that my program's entry point is only at fall semester. That's exactly where I am now. I wish everyone of us in this tiring wait for the IRCC Godspeed and grace to be successful in the end. |
usor00:May 9th here, too. |
Good afternoon, Nairalanders, I have a quick question. While filling out the consent form for GCMS notes application, is one expected to fill the parts that are in three columns with the figures and headings: "2.1-2.3 Related Individual's Information"?—that is, after filling the required details of the applicant and those of their representative in Canada. Please, I need an urgent response from the gurus here. I want to apply for my GCMS notes right away. Thanks in advance. |
fatukay123:Hearty congratulations to you, brotherly. It was just yesterday that you and I were talking about this. I'm super excited for the good tidings you've got today from the IRCC. |
Iffylove, thanks a lot for your empathy and encouragement. It's barely a week now that I applied for a deferral to next fall. I'll certainly send my new LOA via web form to IRCC once I receive it from my school. Daaluu rienne! Iffylove: |
Iffylove:I submitted my application on the 9th of May 2021; did medicals on the 10th, and biometrics on the 14th of the same month. I was asked to undergo additional medical examinations, following the suspicion that arose from my chest x-ray. I was asked to supply the clinic some samples of my sputum for three days, which I judiciously did. I also had returned to my base to carry out my personal medical examinations at a top-ranking clinic within my area of residence to see if there would be any correlation with what I was told at IOM in Abuja. And the results were perfectly okay. Interestingly, the result of my sputum investigations came out as "negative" after two solid months—that was by the end of July. I went for a repeat chest x-ray after three months of the previous one I did—in accordance with the IRCC's modus operandi —that was precisely on the 11th of August, 2021. While the above was happening, the processing of my study permit application was halted by the IRCC in that they wanted to be be fully sure that I was certified "medically okay" by their designated clinic before they could carry on with it. My medical status was updated to "passed" on the 19th of August, after appealing for their action on that through emails and web forms. Thereafter, I had to plead for the commencement of my eligibility review and background check via a web form and email messages —which started within 24hrs after my plea. Ever since then, I haven't heard anything from the IRCC. My program has already started this fall, and I didn't start virtually because of the uncertainty surrounding my application. Also, I didn't begin my program online because I'm on a scholarship that is attached to a TAship. This implies that I would have to be engaged in a teaching assistant job by my faculty, from where remittances would be made for my tuition payment. Hence I had to apply for a deferral till next fall in 2022. Unfortunately, my program's entry point is only during the fall semester. I'm really quaking for the period of time I'd have to stay here waiting for the IRCC, and one more solid year in 9ja. This is my second deferral, having previously deferred my offer from fall 2020 to 2021—and now to 2022. But in all things, I'm still very optimistic about getting a positive response from the Canadian immigration office. I feel so very thrilled to read about the good news many applicants have shared on this platform. God will quicken our good tidings, especially those of us still awaiting His miracles. |
gbemiodula:I think the response you got from Nairobi is a generic one, for I also received exactly the same email when I contacted them via a web form. |
That's cool. At least you're now sure that your application is in progress. Let's hope you get a positive feedback sooner than you think.

|
I will advise you to contact IRCC via email and web forms, appealing for the commencement of your eligibility review requirements. The tone of your email/ web form should be very polite and appealing. If your medical examination has been updated to "passed" on your GCkey account, you may see an update within 48hrs. That was what I did, and it worked for me. Now, my "eligibility review" and "background check" are in progress. Bayor65: |
Mzrosy:Yes. I submitted before May 15th, and my eligibility review is yet to start. Do you know what might be responsible for the delay with that? |
Hello All, Please, is there any group for Nigerian students heading for Brock University, or other schools within St Catherines in Ontario? I'd be glad to receive a feedback on this. |
Congratulations! Please, how did you contact the the notary lawyer for his services? Where can I find one? And what's the likely cost of securing their services for a notarized affidavit of support? Kindly reply back to me. NwanyiOkpa: |
That is exactly what I have been trying to explain to them here. They're really very annoying. shupy: |
Good morning everyone. I'm in a very serious dilemma here. I am right in my bank (Sterling Bank) with a customer service rep to get mybankstatement for my study permit application. First, they told me that they don't issue bank statements using MBS. After a heated argument with them and several calls to their other branches, they accepted to do it. They told me that they can only send a copy MBS to the receiving embassy, without me, the account holder having any access to it. Please, I want to know if anyone banking with Sterling Bank has experienced that kind of thing while requesting his MBS from the bank. And if that's what obtains with the bank, how then will I upload my POF on my GCkey account in the space provided for Proof of means of financial support? Your urgent response would be highly appreciated. |
Good evening everyone. Please, I need your help with some piece of advice on this issue. I'm currently booking my IELTS exam with IDP, which I intend to sit on the 17 of this month. There's a space for Recognising Organisations while filling out the forms. So, I chose Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council , which is the closest organisation to the Canadian embassy. However, my worry now is that there's no space provided for the specific receiving address of the Canadian High Commission here in Nigeria where my test results ought to be sent to. Does IDP only conduct IELTS paper based exams only? This is because I didn't see any option for CBT. And I only saw such tests as Writing, Listening and Reading. Does it mean that they don't conduct Speaking test? Between the British Council and IDP, which of them would you suggest I register with? Please, someone should help me out to clarify the above issues urgently, as I'm at the point of making payment for the exam. If you have previously booked and written your IELTS exam with IDP, your kind guidance would be highly cherished. Thanks in advance.

Could you please recommend some apps that are useful for IELTS exam preparation @Spectro? Spectro: |
Thanks a lot, @MsJanez01. When I said that I read English in school, I meant that I studied English as a course in the university, and have a degree in it, not merely as a taught language . And that is one major point that the waiver from my school emphasizes. On the other hand, I am still waiting to hear people's opinions/advice regarding my bank account which hasn't been engaged in meaningful transactions for a year now: if it wouldn't be any issue when my brother transfers 2m to it for my POF. MsJanez01: |
Thanks for your opinion. But does it mean that the waiver and the document I intend to get wouldn't have any positive effect on my application without sitting IELTS, especially as I read English in the university? TennieYF: |
