Osemigho:
If you read this page well, you will realize single applicant with full Canadian scholarship don't need a sponsor. You only complicate your financial situation with your sponsors, if they are not your parents and rich enough to afford your tuition and living expenses.

Many past single applicants with full scholarships, including myself, got their student visa with less than 1m in their account. If you don't have that saved, Your parent or siblings can transfer this to you and give you a letter of moral support, not financial support. Your sponsor is your school scholarship.
Thanks for this revelation. I admit it was all my fault. I'll definitely tackle it in my next application. Honestly, I had about 2million in my account when I made my application. But I was afraid that it wasn't enough for my living and travel expenses. Hence the reason for a sponsor. I have learned my lesson in a very hard way anyways.

Regards.

They are trying to update it completely. On your current status, after that message, they will put refused there. If it was approved after your passport has been stamped, u will receive same msg and on the status bar, it will show approved with counterfoil etc.
Alright. Thanks for the clarification.

Hello,

They only updated your application from 'Submitted' to 'Refused'

Nothing positive
My application status has already been updated to refused since yesterday. Well, I'll wait to see what it is once I'm able to access my GCkey.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Onaya(m): 3:42pm On Nov 30, 2021
I got an email about some changes on my application status an hour ago from IRCC , even though my application was refused yesterday. Who has ever experienced such a thing before? Is it a sign of anything positive?

Ketima:
Hello Onaya.

Sorry for your refusal. I don't know how closely have established rapour with your sponsor? I would advise you inform him or her of the outcome, beg him or her to write a heart compelling letter to IRCC informing them of importance of your your study and the need to approve your study, citing that you have fully funded scholarship from the department and TA as well. Attach it to your new application. But then, get your note and see what is the VO main comment.
Thank you so much, Ketima. Like my Biology teacher back in secondary school would say: "try and fail, but don't fail to try"; I'd try as hard as I can to address the VO's concerns before making my next application.

For sure, there's a close rapprochment between my sponsor and I. I'd be going to tell him the outcome of the whole thing tomorrow morning to see what best we can do to handle the situation. Yeah, he mentioned the fact that I have a fully-funded offer from my department along with my TAship position, and equally talked about how the knowledge I'd acquire from my MA program would shape my career paths and open up juicy job opportunities here in Nigeria after I will have completed it. In fact, I meticulously drafted the letter for his endorsement before I submitted my application.

I'm cocksure that my GCMS notes would explain in detail why my application was refused.

Warm regards

Tinakem:
This is serious oo, fully funded and still got refusal letter. Nawa oooo. You can't predict these people
Honestly, they're unpredictable. And I strongly feel that most decisions are born out of the VO's disposition and state of mind at the time of finalizing an application.

Dear Onaya,
Earlier on in this thread, I shared here that I got sp and sowp for my wife. It will amaze you to know that I did not submit personal account. I only submitted my sponsors account which is my dad and my co sponsors account which is my wife's uncle in Canada. Just wait for you notes to understand the refusal reasons better
Yes, I read it here when you shared your timeline. Hopefully, the notes would explain in detail what the reason for the refusal is.

Nothing.
We are all together in this.

You know the drill, Order your GCMS note.
It will end in praises this time.

Regards.
I ordered my notes since last week before getting the final decision today. I am of the opinion that it should contain the VO's real concerns when it is released within the given time frame.

Oh! my fellow May applicants, so sorry for the delay, order ur gcms note and refire. It will end in praise
Thanks, Tinakem. I had already ordered my notes last week before getting the final decision today. I hope it would contain the VO's major concerns when it comes out, other than the generic one that came with the refusal letter.

Bobomaigida:
HI Onaya, please take heart. You know how it is done, apply for your notes and tackle.
I thought you had a scholarship, why are they flagging financial status?
Thanks, Bobomaigida. I ordered my notes last week before getting the decision on my application today. I hope that one would suffice, as it should contain the VO's major concerns other than the generic one that accompanied the refusal.

Yes, I'm on a fully-funded tuition scholarship. I even got another one-off scholarship of $5k CAD from my faculty, whose document I equally sent to IRCC through a web form. I'm suspecting that it could be because I didn't attach my personal account statement to my application during the time I submitted it.

Who was your sponsor?

Did you prove your relationship with your sponsor and proof of funds?

Did you include your own bank statement?
Yes, I did prove my relationship with my sponsor in my SOP and backed it up with some docs. Though my admission came with a fully-funded tuition scholarship and a TAship from my department.

However, I didn't include my personal bank statement as at when I submitted my application because my sponsor's was handsome, and I also got another internal scholarship of $5k CAD from my faculty, whose document I sent to IRCC via a web form. I guess my inability to include my SOA led to the refusal.

Hello Nairalanders,

My application of 6 months and 20 days—May 9, 2021—got refused this morning because of personal assets and financial status. Lemme go take some cold beer to chillax a bit because I cannot come and kill myself. Of course, it would be igodominously omicronous for me to dwell in the pain of the refusal after such moments of exasperating wait.

But then, wetin I go gain if I no reapply kwanu?

So anyone who is been tested positive or having treated TB in the past and cure might be deny Visa. Or ?
That's not what I meant. Once you have been certified medically free from it after treatment, you can't be refused on the basis that you once had TB.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Onaya(m): 12:13pm On Nov 23, 2021
Eilenora:
please can you shed more light on the suspicion of TB. My sis has the same problem and also had to wait for 2 months for her result to come out, then was asked to go do another test last week. What should she expect next?
What's the outcome of her TB test? Is it negative or positive? If it's the former, then she's got nothing to be worried about. But if the latter is the case, then she'd be expected to be certified medically fit for her application to be processed, as its processing would be halted until she's been fully treated. This is basically because TB is contagious, and untreated person would pose a serious health risk to Canadian citizens.

However, one can't be refused visa based on the fact that one is positive unless one doesn't go for treatment. That's my two cents.

Good evening all. What TB test is required for canada study visa. Please is it just chest X Ray like UK TB test in IOM. Please I am asking on behalf of a friend.
Thank you as I await your response.
Sputum investigations, after giving the clinic your sample for three days. It usually takes two months before the result comes out. Thereafter, another chest x-ray would be done as a followup to the previous one. But you'd only be required to undergo such additional medical examinations if your chest x-ray raises the suspicion that you might have TB.

You will need to keep sending, the idea isnt for them to reply but to get their attention to your own app and conclude on it.
7months is a long time.
I hope bombarding them with more emails won't result in more delay?

Bobomaigida:
Hi Onaya, I believe you have requested for your GCMS notes to know the detailed status of the application? 7 months is a long time or is your programme start date still far?
Yes, I have. But I'm yet to get it since two months ago I ordered it. My program's entry point is fall only; so I had to defer to next fall because I didn't want to start virtually.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Onaya(m):

Conatcted an MP at some point and was bombarding them with mails when the application started taking too long.
I have equally taken that measure here. The office of the MP I contacted had to call the IRCC to do an inquiry about the status of my application. And they told me that I had passed the medicals and criminality check; that there was nothing else required of me; that I now would have to wait for their final decision on my application. He also mentioned that I might require an interview, even though such a decision was yet to be taken as at when I got the feedback from them.

My application is running into its seventh(7th) month now. I'm simply tired of this endless wait. Just imagine how big a child born seven months ago would have grown by now.

Meanwhile, I had also written the IRCC on different occasions to appeal for the swift processing of my application. However, I was asked to respectfully withhold spending further emails, as they had already received all my emails; that further messages about that would not be responded to; that they would get back to me if they require further details.

So, I come kukuma chillax somehow since I got that email from them ooo.

God no go shame me!

How did you reach out to ATIP about your delayed notes? Mine has taken more than two months already, since I made the payment for my notes. I'd like to reach out to them as well, if you wouldn't mind telling me how you did it.

Thanks.
