PoliticsRe: Did Chinua Achebe Actually Do Anything To Promote Development In Nigeria? by OneNaira6: 10:54am On Mar 24, 2013
alj harem: one Naira, You sound like one of those that don't even bother to read before replying.

Now here are facts

1. Achebe is a well respected man whether anyone likes it or not. I respect the man's achievement (personal)

2. Achebe's works (writings) are great !

Here is the question

What is Achebe's impact to the life of an average Nigerian ? Did he AT ANY POINT fight or make any impact or even attempt to make the life of any average Nigeria or even Igboman better ? Or he just focused on his writing and his personal acheievement ?
How 1diotic are you for asking this question? Look in the mirror and ask the same damn question about your wasteful life. Was Achebe a politician or a writer? Wetin you want him to do, build a bridge abi? Use that ignorant mind of yours and ask what do writers best known for. Writing a book, poem, etc. How do writers impact people's life? By their literary work. Connecting the world through their literary work. Helping individuals understand the benefit of education. Helping people to cope through their problems. Defending individuals through their literary work. Did Achebe literary work do all that? Hell yeah. His book is read all over the world. Translated in multiple languages. Things fall apart being the number one at that. Through that book, the entire world learned about Africa prior to colonization and about Igbo culture prior to colonization. so check in the connecting the world through his literary work. Every Igbo, African, etc I've met that wish for their future to be a writer points to him as their mentor. Well known as the "father of modern african writing" so check in helping individuals understand the benefit of education. Mandela and few other African icons that were jailed unjustly openly said his book got them through those times. Check again for helping individuals cope through their tough times. He spoke and defended Africa by his damn self when a well known racist writer tried to belittle the entire continent thus challenging the m0ron by the name of Conrad that tried to destroy Africa's image. Again check for defending individuals through his literary work. While we at it, he was openly against corruption in Nigeria and Africa. Spoke openly about that and even in some of his literature, gave his input on how that can be changed. He promoted other African writers that aren't well known through his african writer's series. Lastly he was a damn teacher. If not for your stupid1ty and your innate tribalism, you would have seen the damn answer given on this thread multiple times ALREADY. Even one guy gave you the bloody answer in a shorter form but your typical desperation to act clueless, you pretend not to understand or get what he said. Abeg get the f2k out of my face and don't you ever quote me again.

Niggmatic: Well, you do not need the 'Igbo bigot' to tell you his achievements. Just a click on any international media web site will do the magic. Meanwhile, i hope some folks are not down with heart attack on this man greatness.
He doesn't even need to go outside of NL. One member yesterday opened a thread about Achebe, bringing out his works as well as what others said about him as a way to pay him his last respect and wish him goodbye. The guy (alj_harem) that asked the question was too busy dancing up and down yesterday over the death of Achebe to pay it mind. Why then should anyone waste their time educating the well known bigot of NL. Leave him jor.

This thread should have ended hours ago at least in my opinion. I don't even know why the entire eastern and some SS populace are trying to change some bigots mind about this man. What they see him as shouldn't matter really.
PoliticsRe: Did Chinua Achebe Actually Do Anything To Promote Development In Nigeria? by OneNaira6: 10:02am On Mar 24, 2013
Efikman: Chronic Yoruba tribalistic MODS like OAM4J will one day cripple nairaland if Seun Osewa does not do something about it quick. When Yoruba bigots attack Achebe, Ibos and easterners as a whole by using derogatory words such as "ashebe", "Igbos", "yam pottage", "eboes", e.t.c, he will look the other way. But when those attacked reply with same derogatory words
Like Yoruba or Yoruba, he will not hesitate to ban them. Is this right? where then is the justice? Nobody will insult any Yoruba man if the bigots here don't draw the first blood. Make una enjoy. Afterall na una get nairaland. Nonsense!!!!!!!
Thank you Efikman. He does that a whole lot. You are not the only one that noticed it and you are definitely not the only one that pointed it out. It's not just on Igbo vs. Yoruba threads. He equally do the same on SS vs. Yoruba thread. APC followers vs. GEJ followers. So many have called him out on it yet he continues. If you were here earlier, you would have seen the first clean up he did. He cleaned all Igbo retaliation which insulted Awolowo and left the insult towards Achebe conducted by his people alone. The double standard of that man is getting ridiculous. Seun needs to get rid that man.
PoliticsRe: Did Chinua Achebe Actually Do Anything To Promote Development In Nigeria? by OneNaira6:
EzeUche: This thread should be known as a jealousy thread.

Supporters of Chinua Achebe should see this as flattery.

All the tributes from around the world that they had to read and see yesterday must had been painful for them.
of course, it is out jealousy and desperation. they wanted to destroy Achebe's reputation since he told us the truth about awolowo. They thought they made an impact when they used their ID and of course their multiple IDs to vote him in their NL hall of shame. unfortunately, reality came hitting them harder than life when every nation mourns him. of course, what can they do but try once more to destroy his reputation. unfortunately for them, the jealousy, hatred and desperation of theirs isn't making a dent in the man's reputation thus their whining since the man died. if they can't mess up his reputation to many on the world , at least they can mess up his mourning period for many on NL.
PoliticsRe: Did Chinua Achebe Actually Do Anything To Promote Development In Nigeria? by OneNaira6:
I'm actually shocked some Igbo pay mind to a group of men that at their age have not grown up yet. a fool at 40, 50, 70 and up will forever be a fool and that describes most of the Yoruba's on this forum excluding few. why una still argue with grown men with brains like that of a teenager is a mystery. As for those doubting the loyalty to soyinka, soyinka is a good man. he's not and have never been like them thus do not use his tribes to judge him. He's nothing like this set we see on this forum. spit on the floor. most tribalistic ppl in the entire Nigerian populace. tufiakwa. move on and Join the world in morning this man. stop wasting una time with the disgrace of Africa.
PoliticsRe: Kano Bombing May Have Caused Achebe's Death – Soyinka, Clark by OneNaira6: 10:15pm On Mar 23, 2013
interesting perspective but i doubt it's the accurate course of his death. i think the reason he died so suddenly is probably he had the disease camping in him for awhile and noone including his family members noticed the symptoms. they probably thought it was the common cold. well he'll forever be remembered as one of Africa's greatest icons

dayokanu: So Chief Onoh didnt know about Ibo culture or he wasnt Ibo thats why Ojuku was able to molest his daughter without his consent?. Nollywood is your reference? never knew I was talking to a rettard Soon Catoon network and Sesame street would be your reference morron
stupid1ty once more. continue showing us why noone on this forum respect you and I'll say it once more at this your damn age. Go back and reeducate yourself. Bianca onoh was her 30's or close to it at least when she married ojukwu. their marriage was consenual. Their sexual life was consenual. incase you don't know the meaning of molestation, you don't molest someone that's agrees to sleep and be with you. then again, maybe you've never experience such thus the difficult of you to know the difference. if that's the reality, what a damn shame of your life. Lastly onoh disapproved of his daughter dating ojukwu but later in life approved of it hence bianca and her family are not estranged from eachother. ojukwu and her father still remained friends till one died. if her dad wanted the marriage not go through, he can easily disallowed it. the reason i mentioned nollywood and with the emphasis even nollolywood shows you this sh1t, is that if u r too stu1d to read about it, too lazy and tribalistic to notice it in real life, then even the mf movie industry actually teaches you that. smh of course not I'm not suprised you didn't get it. continue proving every perspective everyone have of you correct.
PoliticsRe: Did Chinua Achebe Actually Do Anything To Promote Development In Nigeria? by OneNaira6: 9:40pm On Mar 23, 2013
htajz: achebe is one positive news from or about nigeria ,we are hardly on the news for anything good. soyinka would have been the same but dam that guy introduced cultism into nigerian schools the atrocities these cultist commit is just too much.
thank you. for the first time since i moved to usa that I'm seeing about nigeria on news and it has nothing negative about it yet people that are known to attention seeking in everything, out of their usual notice me behavior wants to change that. mschewww

as for soyinka. he has his wrongdoing but he's a great man. he command respect from many. maybe one day, he might explain the reason for the cultism act.
PoliticsRe: Did Chinua Achebe Actually Do Anything To Promote Development In Nigeria? by OneNaira6:
dayokanu: What could he do about whom his daughter wanted to marry? WHat could Chief CC Onoh do to stop his friend Ojuku from molesting Biancar?

He was friends with Soyinka but tried his best to denigrate the Nobel that Soyinka got

Ashebe was a bitter man his bitterness ended his life. Maybe the senile cripple would have lived a more peaceful life if he rid himself of tribalism
see this 1diot. in Igbo culture, you need your father's permission before you marry someone. Achebe family is even more tight-knit on all igbo culture to the core. you didn't have to show your bloody famous stupid1ty once again. Even nollywood teaches you this sh1t.

ironically other than you and probably other bigots like yourself trying desperately to make unaself relevant, noone has ever accused the man of degrading, insulting or demeaning soyinka or his nobel prize. even soyinka we speak of never accused him of such and even the same man came out and told the world that was his brother that died

like i said, try another route, ain't noone buying what u people are selling. try again

btw: why don't you take your own advice. someone mentioned you are in your late 40s yet you still remain a brainless tribalistic buffoon that act childish in every of his post at this your damn age. by the time, you reach his age that is if God even grant you that wish, only he knows want you'll become. one thing for sure, your life won't amount to half of what achebe did in his early 20's talkless his entire life. and we all know who the world would deem everythinh you accuse him of, if the competition is between you and him.

lastly stop wasting my time and focus in trying to change the entire perspective every f2king body excluding his people have about awolowo and his well known tribalism. I have better things to with my time than arguing/talking to a 40 something year old man that refuse to grow the f2k up.

bolaino: I want to make something clear to everyone, this topic has nothing to do with tribalism, I love my igbo folks, I have so much love and respect for the igbo culture and tradition, and I didn't intend creating this topic to insult the igbo people, IGBO KWENU!!!, but the truth is always the truth, achebe was a tribalist and a bigot, and like Garri republic nairalanders will ask, how has the life and death of achebe affected the price of garri in the market?
and the only people in the entire world that thinks he's a bigot are YORUBA. says alot about you lot. now use your cerebral and explain how a man whose tribalistic to your people as una claim gave his daughter to one of your people. also explain why the same man is bestfriend to soyinka till the point they both see eachother as brother if he hates una that much.

we know your intention of this thread, it's the same intention most of your people have been doing for awhile now. lmfao @ the amount of strength some people are using to try and destroy a mans reputation while at the same time, no matter how loud they get, the man's reputation still stays intact. like many are mentioning the entire WORLD are in tears about his death. the entire AFRICA are in tears about his death. the entire NIGERIAN, excluding Yoruba and that one fulani monkey that rear his head once in a while making no sense, are in tears about his death. now tell us why anyone should care if some irrelevant populace see nothing good from the man. he's work speak for itself, noone in your entire region are commending the kind of respect chinua achebe is commending from the world right now and if not for una tribalism and desperate need to cry foul because the man spoke the truth about what una tribalistic demigod did then una wont be the childish adult trying desperately to ruin his reputation and failing woefully might i add. Try another route cause noone is buying what you people are selling.

see enviness in display. lmfao. it's noone fault that when you die, excluding your family, noone would care, bat an eye or give a crap. he's a better man than you'll ever be even if you end up having mulitple lives like all your multiple IDs on this forum. even a hair in his entire head is everything you'll never be. he's a greatest man, recognize everywhere in this continent, his death mourned everywhere. you can jump off bridge that despit your attacks, including using your ids to do those attacks few months ago, those attacks made zero impact to his reputation all over the world and this is a damn fact. it must be a shame knowing noone cared to pay you people mind. ntoooo. well At least, you have NL hall of shame una did to hold onto na. Now sit while we all read the greatest of this man. stop showing una inferority complex in every thread.

Pataki: And yet it was the same minority who voted Achebe into Nairaland Hall of Shame huh?

Go on Saharareporters and see what people are saying of Achebe. It is only on NL that your tribal warlord of a MOD is hiding post of people who spew the truth of Achebe.
again is NL and sahara the world? lmfaooo. I'll use NL for a sample, a website that boost of one million members yet one member on the website can have over 100 id and they count those id as part of the million members. even then that 1 million isn't even a dent in the entire Nigerian population (outside and inside the nation) .dude I'm was watching CNN awhile ago and the memoir of this man was on for two hours. Now im watching the local news and they just started talking about the man right now. let it be known to you, NL isn't sh1t to anyone except for the owner and I'm guessing those like yourself. It is not a respected website even labeled as a 419 dwelling website few months ago by some Usa company. even in Nigeria, excluding SW and north, this website isn't respected or viewed in a positive light anywhere else so I'll say it once more know where your opinion lie, you are a minority. when you're opinion start being reflected international then you have the right to call yourself a majority and as of now, it ain't.

lastly, get off afam's dick. the dude name hasn't even been on here as part of the viewing since i logged on here. your Oam47 on the other had so how is it afam hiding post and if u bothered to check, you'll see the igbo post are the ones hidden.

anyway i'm not about to fight on a man's mourning period. i have respect for the dead and I'm not trying to send my soul towards hell like you lot so this is my last post. I just had to laugh how you think NL and sahara outweighs again igbos, other africans, cnn, bbc, aljerzza, mandela, etc (i.e: the world, not even just national). dude you're comical.
PoliticsRe: Prof Chinua Achebe Is Dead! by OneNaira6: 10:21pm On Mar 22, 2013
this OAM47 guy is really as tribalistic as it comes. you hid every comment by the igbos on this forum as retailation to some yorubas on this thread but left the glaring tribalistic comment of those yorubas that resulted the tribalistic comment of the Igbo you hid alone. WOW. this is the fifth thread so far you've done this. We see through dude. SMH even hid the post where some igbos including my own were telling the igbos to respect this man death and mourn him. don't fight. even hid post on those defending afam but allowed the post of those accusing him left alone. wow dude, you never cease to amaze us with your double standard and tribalistic act.

anyway globe, nnenna, etc. Enough!!! what una are doing is against Igbo culture. You don't fight immediately after a mans death and you definately don't fight during his mourning period. Stop already. wait till his mournin period is over. you are defending him but una are equally disrespecting him by fighting right now. lastly if they start banning, it's una that OAM47 is going to ban and leave those that provoked and started the whole sh1t alone like he usually does.

you can equally hide this comment if you like. as long as nnenna read it before you do so then I'm satisified

Pataki: Same as it is the opinion of the majority to remember Achebe as a bigot in tribalism.

The system of the world is fashioned in the sense of remembering your bad deeds far better than your good deeds. That is why we all remember RVP for cheating on his wife. We remember Bill Clinton for his sexual affair while in the White House. We remember Achebe as a tribal bigot.
you're a minority, don't ever mistake or confuse your opinion and those like you as a majority. to become a majority, yours and those like you have to reflect outside of NL. so far, opinions, respect of the man and views in positive light is what's being displayed and spoken off all over the news media in most nation right now thus dude know where your opinion lie.

you're a minority

The army should send more soldiers to the North. These terrorists must be wiped out!
they send more army to protect and watch over northerners in onitsha than actually sending them up north to find this BH fools. last time i was in Nigeria and paid a small visit to Onitsha, i was shocked the amonut of army they have roaming that area. they have them plenty full SS, plenty full onitsha but they won't send them up north to actually do the job they are being paid to do. waste of tax payers money. ihijerika sit down and go send troops up north. if the northerners in your command refuse to go, then send southerners. stop talking.

PoliticsRe: Is The President Of Gabon An Igboman? by OneNaira6: 6:34pm On Mar 21, 2013
Anyway to address the question. No the Gabon president is not an Igbo man. Yes there are significant amount of Igbo indigenous of Gabon, some being those that migrated there during Biafra war and never came back. The Gabon president's family have an Igbo last name because his father (Omar Bongo0 changed their name to an Igbo last name and I'm guessing out of love he had for the Igbo people. During Biafra War, he was among those that helped and even secured a safe pass to Gabon. Massob even visited him few years ago. Just read up on it. He and his father are not Igbo but they cared a great deal about Igbo. They are not nigerians but actually from Equatorial Guinea and yes i know there are Igbo indigenous of EG but they are not one of them.

geeez: Well whether or not you guarantee peace in your region is not my business but don't ever for one second think you can pull out the smallest hair strand on a Yoruba man, woman, boy or girl's hair in your region and get away with it. Don't ever take our peaceful demeanor for cowardice..Be guided!
I'll honestly like to go to one thread, just one thread without seeing this desperate attention seeking from una. Just one thread for God sake. SMH!! Dude, why are some of you people more worried about the Igbo killed than your own people? So you are implying that you care more to make fun of the dead of the Igbo than actually give a crap about your own that died. SMH. Such a shame. So glad I wasn't born one of una. In addition, please just stop making threat all over the internet that we know una cannot back up, we all are fed up with it. Since BH started there attacks, I've heard and read about reprisal attacks from SS (Asaba and Warri), SE (Onitsha twice) and MB (don't know the state that berom belongs to but the berom people), none of us have heard of a reprisal attack in SW. I'm not saying revenge is the right way to go about it but if una are going to go around making threats anytime BH attacks, then show us you can actually back up this so called threats all the time. Is not like yoruba are spared during the attacks, remember the Abuja bomb had more of your people name than any other ethnicity, the same goes for the last church bomb they did in I believe Kano and this recent bomb had a significant amount of your people killed despite none speaking on their behalf (sadly). Enough with the chest- beating, it's like you people enjoy the nickname "the talkative coward". it's kinda like the ones going around shouting OPC would do this to BH, blah blah blah and it's the same OPC that made a threat to BH few months ago telling them to do whatever they wish up north and to their own living up north but if they see or feel a bomb in SW, wahalla go break. Few weeks after the threat, a bomb went off in ekiti and nothing happened, instead they claimed "it cannot be BH". So please enough with the threatening and the attention seeking. There are times, people wish to see a serious comment on a thread. If some of you people know you cannot be serious in some situations, then waka commot from the thread. Jeez!!
