The fact I mentioned I'm from Asaba and your ediot sef is still asking "what are you? " is pretty much anyone needs to know Nigga, you are an UNTRAVELED YORUBA.

You guys have finally stop claiming iteskiri to urhobo. Shameless f2king tribe. I'm not going to attacking innocent urhobo just because a useless tribe called Yoruba decided to use them as shield this time around. I won't waste my time.
Go f2king travel and learn about the state you wish you are from maybe then you'll know the tribe in Asaba. I'm not your geography teacher.

I'm sure you quoted wrongly! Please check.

I am a Niger Deltan and the Biafra in Niger Delta is embedded in Delta state (my state) and in rivers state. The igbos in this two states forms the majority in Niger Delta. Go check.

We are better with Biafra than the Islamic zealots form the north and the fearful yorubas who are born to serve.

Have you ever heard of a man Called Chukwuma Nzeogwu? Please check.
I wasn't talking about you. I was agreeing with you. I was talking about CHM11. I'm from Asaba so no need to preach to me about our history. All I know I support the Biafran dream and with Massob on this their decision.

A Urhobo will not stupidly mention iteskiri has igbo names, there's not one single iteskiri community with Igbos names. Everyone from or live in delta knows this especially a urhobo whose community is literally next to iteskiri ppl. An Urhobo or delta will not stupidly think or mention Asaba, etc denies Igbos. Go to Obigbo in Rivers state and call them igbo and see what they will tell you.
You that reason with your head, you can't even respect peoples language and ethnicity. All of Obigbo, Abua Odua, Asaba, Nonwa gbam tai might have names that look igbotic but they have clearly made it clear that they are not igbos, but you people from igbo states will not let them be and you keep wanting to join them with you..Na by forcehuh?

They call themselves names like Ukwannis, ogwashikwus, Ikwerres etc....they reject and outrightly basterdise and get angry at anyone who calls them igbos clearly stating that they are not IGBOs but you people won't let them be...They are not igbos!!!!!!!

Go form your biafra with imo, abia, anambra, enugu, and ebonyi......you are allowed!!!!

Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state is Ikwerre with two names.

Rotimi-Yorubalike
Amaechi-Igbotic

The yorubas respect him as an Ikwerre man but you igbos will always want to call him an igbo man....

Una dey crase ni?
Can't you people just respect others as they respect you?
Later you will say people hate you....Jesus!!!!

Typical of yoruba, divide and rule tactics.

I'm among the majority in my community. Many accept and few don't.
Finally incase you weren't aware, SS igbos are even more full igbo than SE igbo. Many of SS igbo community frown upon mixing with other tribes, and even in some cases other igbo groups. Even the only anioma community in SE aka onitsha people have that same mentality. We are as full as full as it gets. There's not one single SE igbo community with more igbo blood than a SS igbo. So you can take your mix comment with you to a transformer.

In essence, its been proven here that SW,SE and SS are equal and doing well.
Hence, none should be tag lazy nor weak or tag below other(s).
I'm on my phone, once I get home and can use my laptop, I'll post the history of the first two yorubas up there.
So yes like I said, despite being left penniless, no govt assistance, etc SE and SS whose entire community was destroyed during the civil war caught up to ppl without that problem in less than 40 years. Instead of hating, clap for am. E no easy.

In as much as I don't agree with others rubbing it una faces. They have every right to rub it in your faces though. I just don't agree with them doing it. Nothing stopped you people in your tracks and you all had to start from beginning unlike SE and equally SS, therefore you people should have been way above all Southern regions in all index but una are not. Infact, they are in line with una and in some cases, surpassed una in less than 40 years. Stop hating and clap!!

There were 8 igbos in that list and 7 yoruba and all those 8 igbos made it without government assistance unlike their yoruba conterparts and let's not forget 40 years ago, that entire tribe, most likely the parents or the person himself were left penniless by that country's government and frustrated throughout those 40 years. Nigeria: One Country Four Economies Discussion Points
By
Falalu Bello, OFR

v On the basis of ownership and/or control of resources that make for economic development, post-Obasanjo Nigeria in terms of strength could easily be categorized into 4 economies as follows:

a) South West Economy;

b) South East plus Delta Economy;

c) Northern Economy; and

d) South South minus Delta Economy

v The four economies mentioned above are fairly distinct with each growing at its own pace. The South Western economy is growing at a faster rate than all followed by South East plus Delta economy whilst those of the North and South South minus Delta could at best be described as stagnant. A simple analysis of these four economies is given below:-

a) South West Economy

South Western Nigeria with a Land Mass of 76,852 square kilometres and population of 25.2 million today owns and/or control 60% of the nation’s industrial capacity, 44% of banking assets, 67% of insurance assets and is house to the nation’s three deep sea ports of Apapa, Tin Can Island and Roro; the busiest international airport of Ikeja, three thermal stations of Egbin, Papalanto and Omotosho. Today, its three major industrial estates of Agbara, Ikeja and Otta are all linked to gas under the West African gas pipeline plan and piping of gas is ongoing from Otta to Abeokuta. Added to these, the South Western population today is the most educated as western education came through there and education as a resource was democratized since the early sixties. Geographical location, democratization of western education, availability of resources enhanced in last 9 years and some empowerment during the Obasanjo administration have collectively enabled the South Western economy to rank as first of the four economies in Nigeria. Today, the South West as a region can boast of having a defined growing middle class and is perceived to have at least 20,000 of its indigenes with net worth of over N100m each. Take it out of Nigeria, the South West economy with is defined growing middle class and resources, will be one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

b) The South-East plus Delta

The South Easterners plus their cousins across the Onitsha bridge control commerce in all parts of Nigeria and are thus largely employed. The region has clusters of small scale industries around Nnewi and Aba. The banking consolidation has assisted these people to now have ownership and or control of over 50% of Nigerian banking assets. It also controls 21% of the nation’s insurance assets and 20% of industrial assets. With this development, this region which has not had a commanding control over Nigerian economy will certainly begin to do that now. Commercial activities backed by finance can only grow the economy of South-East plus Delta. The growing strength of financial muscle of this region has been aptly demonstrated by the recent licensing of Micro Finance Banks. Of the over 600 MFBs recently licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Anambra State alone had 74 whilst Yobe State had 1, Sokoto 5, Zamfara 6, etc. There exists also in this economy a middle class which will now grow itself in number and financial muscle and will almost certainly grow its economy inclusive particularly of small and medium sized industrial base.

c) The Northern Economy

The North which geographically is 719,435 Square Kilometers or 79% of Nigeria’s landmass and has 75 million or 53.6% of Nigeria’s population has its economy as a consequence of various reforms introduced, been totally grounded. Today, the North has ownership and/or control of no more than 3% of banking assets and 2% of insurance assets and 10% of industrial assets. True, the North has a huge landmass but this has remained under exploited due to jettisoning of time tested policies of price support (as a result of abolishing of marketing boards without putting alternatives) and abandonment of extension services and quality control. Also, the North has a huge population but the population has remained largely uneducated and/or half educated because of near failure of governance in certain States and Local Governments. Currently its most distinguishing characteristic is grinding poverty. Recent poverty statistics indicate that the poverty level of States in the North has been on the increase in the last 9 years and reached over 80%. Its two commercial and industrial nerve centers (Kano and Kaduna) have seen industrial capacity utilization decline to an all time low of less than 10%. The textile, automobile and beverages companies that thrived so impressively in the 1970s and 1980s have collapsed rendering thousands jobless. Although hydroelectricity is generated at Kainji Dam and in lesser quantities at Shiroro Gorge and at several smaller sites, the entire mechanisms are run on very obsolete equipment and the performance is consequently very epileptic and unsuitable for meaningful economic activity.

d) The South South minus Delta

The South South is largely in the creeks of Niger Delta and has therefore a small land mass of only 48,321 square kilometers and is populated by 13.6 Million people. Notwithstanding the fact that it is house to Nigerian Oil wealth, this region exclusive of oil company activities like the North is also backward economically. It controls no more than 3% of banking assets, 10% of insurance assets and no more than 10% of industrial assets on account of oil related industries that the indigenes do not control. Furthermore, its overstretched land mass has suffered considerable degradation and its aquatic life destroyed. As a region, its people and economy are worst off than the North as it lacks fresh environment, water and even good air to breath.

v Geography, history and particularly the reform agenda of Obasanjo’s regime have created above very dangerous economic structure in Nigeria. By design or by accident Northerners and South Southerners as peoples and regions have been made third and fourth class citizens. We may well choose to ignore these happenings and pretend that they have not happened but doing so will be at the peril of the Nigerian Polity. It is indeed in the interest of the South Westerners and the South Easterners for some affirmative actions to be taken to redress the situation else there will be no real peace in this country moving forward. The so called “religious disturbances” in the Northern States and the Port Harcourt conundrum of kids of less than 15 years carrying guns and terrorizing the population will not stop until these imbalances are consciously addressed and redressed. As the saying goes “where the poor does not sleep because of hunger, the rich too will not sle[

“Most Igbos say they are the people that developed Lagos and made Lagos what it is today. They say without Igbos, Lagos is finished. And i keep on wondering, how has Igbos helped in shaping and developing Lagos?Lets get the facts right, Igbos didn't develop Lagos, rather, it was Lagos that shaped and made the Igbos what they are today. Without igbos in Lagos, Lagos will remain Lagos and without Lagos, most Igbos may likely be nothing.“Reasons for my assertion is that most giant and top companies that attracts millions of people across the country to Lagos are not owned by the Igbos, so, how has Igbos shaped and developed Lagos? These are the achievements and economic advancement Igbos gave Lagos and Lagosians; tokunbo and fake spare parts at Ladipo Market, China Electronics and pirated CDs at Alaba market, bend-down select clothes at Idumota, yaba and katangowa market, Chinese and tokunbo computers accessories and Fake phones at Computer village Ikeja; are Igbos economical achievement and contribution to Lagos. In fact, most Igbos are causing nuissance in Lagos. A visit to this markets will tell you the amount of nuissance that most Igbos has caused in Lagos. The environments these Igbos traders are mostly populated are always polluted with waste of all sorts, they are dirty, stinking, rough, Attention of illegal shops on the road,on the pipeline and railway lines are encouraged in this market places that causes traffic gridlock and other dangerous acts and when Lagos state government dismantle these illegal shops, they get angry, if Lagos state government close their shops for environmental violation, they pick offence. How then has the Igbos developed Lagos?

As far as am concerned, PZ, COCA-COLA, 7UP, CADBURY, MTN, AIRTEL, GLO, ETISALAT, DANGOTE, SHOP-RITES, GOLDEN PENNY, FLOUR MILL, INDOMIE, UNILEVER, P&G, CHI LIMITED, GUINNESS, NIGERIA BREWERIES, OANDO, CONOIL, TOTAL, MOBIL, CHEVRON, SHELL, AQUADANA, KFC, EKO HOTEL, INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL, PROTEA HOTEL,ORIENTAL HOTEL,JULIUS BERGER, RCC CONSTRUCTION, NESTLE, KPMG, GSK, FRISLAND FOOD, WAMCO, BRITISH AMERICA TOBACCO, FLOUR MILL, SCHLUBEGER, AIT, SILVERBIRD TV, CHANNELS TV, LARFARGE,AVIS,CECC etc are not owned by the Igbos . These companies are what attracted millions of people to Lagos.
Igbos shouldn't lay claim that they develop a place by becoming a nuisance. Most of the top churches in Lagos are not also owned by the Igbos. House on the Rock, Redeem, Christ Embassy, Deeper life, living faith, MFM, etc are not owned by Igbos, the only church owned by an Igbo man is TREM, while another Igbo church Lord Chosen church encourage nuissance in Lagos and its also dubbed as the dirtiest church in Lagos.Records shows that 75% of robbery cases in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 85% of ritual cases in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 60% of drug cases in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 70% of fraud cases in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 90% of pirated CDs in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 60% of fake and Adulterated drugs in Lagos that has killed thousands of Lagosians are carried out by Igbos, in fact, most of the crimes in Lagos are related to the Igbos so how has Igbos developed Lagos when they can't get their hands off crimes? There is no Igbo man among the top three richest people in Nigeria, so how are they successful? The truth is that the Igbos should be grateful that the Yorubas accommodated them in Lagos peacefully, they shouldn't take the Meekness and kindness of the Yorubas for granted.Igbos didn't make Lagos but its actually Lagos that made Igbos.

Eh ooo grin
Lmfaooo. The highlighted discredited the entire article as a yoruba man ranting of. Nothing tangible to justify it. The most educated has been disproven years ago. Thr high income, osun state (which supposedly has the highest economy according to yoruba media) governor disproved that months ago by informing all the state was broke. As for the companies, I once again bet if I go back and check the CEO of each, majority are either foreign companies or SS and SE owned. Four of it already proven ( cadburg, PZ, Unilever and Guiness). The fact the actor never checked stats before writing the article disproves everything else written in that article

As for the staistics on crime, once more proof it nothing but a Yoruba writing off. These right here are the REAL statistics of Crimes in Nigerian

Anyway let's start.

EFCC most wanted (7 yorubas and 2 Igbos)
https://efccnigeria.org/efcc/index.php/wanted

World most wanted Nigerians ( 9 yorubas and 2 Igbos)

FBI most wanted Nigerians since 2008

FBI most wanted Nigerian (Tobechi Onwuhara is the second Igbo to make the list)

FBI most wanted still left to be caught

out of all the list, there are two Nigerians left to be caught. Both are Yoruba
http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/cei/olufemi-siffre/view
http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/cei/london-owhofasa-akpanoko/view

Out of all FBI most wanted, there have been 18 yorubas and two Igbos

Now for crimes focused on just Nigeria. A stat conducted by CLEEN foundation using Nigerian police crime stats.

Despite SS outranking SW in some of the category, disregard that. SW would have ranked highest in all Southern region, the only reason SS outranked SW in some of this situation is the fact their sister, kemi okenyodo, the only Nigerian involved in this study, deliberately separated lagos from SW in order to cushion that region high criminal behavior.

UNVEILING NIGERIANS WHO PLAY BIG IN GHANA
0 COMMENT 21 MAR 2013 POSTED BY

•How They Run Big Banks & Insurance Companies

When it comes to activities in the Ghanaian economy, Nigeria no doubt is a big player. Nigeria is rated the 3rd biggest investor in Ghanaian economy, after the U.S and China and this explains the magnitude of the massive influence the country wields in terms of business and commerce in Ghana. It is also on record that Nigeria has led the revolution in some key sectors of the Ghanaian economy, especially in the banking and insurance sectors. This piece is about top Nigerian Corporate Executives who are steering the wheels of big corporate institutions and establishments in Ghana, with special focus on the Banking and Insurance sectors. Interestingly, there is no sector of the Ghanaian economy, where you will not find a Nigerian holding a big stake.
In the banking sector, there is no way the story of the current revolution in the Ghana banking industry would be told without the mention of names of Nigerian corporate titans who helped in reshaping the sector in the country. One of such men is Dolapo Ogundimu.. He is the Managing Director of Access Bank. Before he took up the job, Dolapo was the MD of Guaranty Trust Bank Ghana. A seasoned banker, Lekan Sanusi is the current MD of Guaranty Trust Bank Ghana Limited. Since he took over, he has kept the flag of the bank flying as one of the biggest financial institutions in Ghana. Zenith Bank is yet another Nigerian bank doing great in Ghana. Daniel Asiedu is the M/DCEO of the bank. Though Asiedu is a Ghanaian, he had spent most part of his career in Nigeria. Another man doing great in the banking sector is Oliver Alawuba. He is the Managing Director of United Bank of Africa (UBA) in Ghana. UBA is one of the best banks in Ghana at the moment.
Ghanaians can also not forget Nigerian multi-billionaire businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim in a jiffy. He is one of the men who had done so well for the Ghanaian banking industry. He established Energy Bank 2 years ago and today, the bank has 7 branches across the country. It was adjudged the Most Liquid Bank in Ghana last year and also one of the 2 with the Best Profit After Tax out of 28 banks. The Managing Director of Energy Bank Ghana Limited is Mr. Sam Ayinuola. He has been doing so well for the bank and has been bettering the fortunes of the bank. There is also Mr. Isaac Shedowo, who is the Deputy General Manager of Energy Bank.
There is also Mr. Michael Osikoya, who is the Head, Financial Control and Corporate Planning of the Bank. Seasoned Nigerian politician, Senator Iyiola Omisore is another big player in the Ghana banking industry. He, alongside some other Nigerian businessmen floated the First Atlantic Merchant Bank Ghana Limited last year. The bank is set to bring a ne experience to the industry. Another Nigerian entrepreneur who is playing a good role in the Ghanaian banking sector is Oye Balogun. He is one of the new Nigerian businessmen who just moved into banking in Ghana.
In the insurance sector, Nigerians are equally playing big. In that sector in Ghana, there are equally a lot of big names who have done well. There are names like that of Dolapo Balogun. He is one of the Nigerians who play big in Ghana where he owns a lot of investments. He started off as a big player in the Insurance sector in Nigeria, having taken over his dad’s insurance business and he has successfully taken it to the next level; expanding the company’s operations to Ghana few years back.
You cannot also forget names like Iyiola Saraki who is the MD of Nem Insurance Ghana Limited. There is also Roy Bernard, who runs Capital Assurance, Ghana Limited. Another prominent name in the Ghanaian insurance sector is Bode Oseni, who runs Regency Assurance Ghana Limited. Bode is one of the finest hands in the business of Insurance. In Ghana today, Equity Assurance ranks among the biggest in the Insurance sector. A seasoned insurance guru, Prince Yemi Adetuwo is the MD/CEO of the company. Another big name in the industry is Isola Akintunde. He is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Equity Assurance Ghana Limited.
There is also Prince Uche Okugo, who runs International Energy Insurance (I.E.I) Ghana Limited. We also have Abiodun Razak. He is the Managing Director of Intercontinental/WAPIC Insurance Ghana Limited. The insurance company, which has been doing well in Ghana over the years, has David Duduyemi as its General Manager.
Leaseafic Ghana Limited is a leading name in Finance and leasing services in Ghana. A seasoned Accountant, Alex Mbakogu is the General Manager of the ..of the company.
Where did I place SE and SS together in that post. I even separated SS igbo from SE igbo in that post.

BTW: You must be kidding me with the article right? Being a MD, director, chairman, Chief Finance, etc are NOT the owner of the company, they are just WORKERS of the company that easily be fired just like any other worker in the company. They are just higher in the company chain than other sales/marketing agent, nothing more, nothing less. Anything short of a CEO/founder is nothing in that company. Out of all you posted up there, there's only 3 worth mentioning aka CEO: Daniel Asiedu (Ghanaian), CEO Yemi Adetuwo ( Yoruba), and CEO Uche Okugo (igbo). The rest are just workers of the company they are in.

Lastly, how is Nigerian companies in Ghana have ANYTHING to do with this thread. Ezeagu posted up an article of Igbo thriving business in Asia, does that mean that matters in here? NO. I can bet you, most companies in Ghana are GHANAIAN or white owned.

I will tell what backwardness is all about;

In a Capitalist State Like Ours, Wealthy Firms With Healthy Cash Flow Control The Economy Not Petty Traders.

"I have investigated all the 20 top Nigerian companies listed below as compiled by authoritative Forbes business magazine and none of them is based in Igbo land or controlled by the so called ‘Igbo business men’.

Impressively, 20 Nigerian companies made it to the list of Top 25 companies in West Africa. They include:

• Dangote Cement
• Zenith Bank PLC
• Ecobank Transnational Incorporated
• Nigerian Breweries Plc
• First Bank Plc
• Guaranty Trust Bank Plc
• United Bank for Africa
• Guinness Nigeria
• Nestlé Nigeria
• Access Bank
• Flour Mills Nigeria
• Union Bank of Nigeria
• Stanbic IBTC
• First City Monument Bank
• Lafarge Cement WAPCO
• Total Nigeria
• Unilever Nigeria
• PZ Cussions
• UACN
• Cadbury Nigeria Plc

According to Forbes, Nigeria has 20 of the best 25 companies in West Africa.

It is only a fool who will believe Igbo postulation that it is street trader’s and hawkers that controls an economy. If that hypothesis is valid, then the Indians and Pakistanis in Britain can also claim that they [are] in charge of British economy because over 70% of petty street trading in Britain is in the hand of the Asians. However, we all know that actual British economy is firmly in the hands of the Britons. The same is factual for Germany and France where Turkish and North African Algerians are their own local version of Igbo. The only difference is that these other 'gypsies’' are more knowledgeable of who they are in their host countriy's economy, unlike ignorant Igbo petty street traders in Yoruba land."

Jeolous my bombom. grin
Did you even research as you claim. Being chairman of a foreign branch company does not mean You OWE the company. You are a worker of that company. infact, out of all companies posted up by you, only two are Yoruba CEO/owned and the remaining are either whites, SS and SE.

Dangote Cement---CEO: Aliko Dangote [Fulani]
• Zenith Bank PLC---CEO/founder: Jim ovia [ delta igbo]
• Ecobank Transnational Incorporated---CEO: Albert Essien [ibibio]
• Nigerian Breweries Plc...Non Nigerian owned company..a branch of heinkein. CEO: Nicholas Vervelde [white]
• First Bank Plc...CBN sponsored bank. Not a nigerian founded bank despite a yoruba [onasanya] is the chairman. Founder: Alfred Jones [ white]
• Guaranty Trust Bank Plc: CEO/founder Fola Adeola [yoruba]
• United Bank for Africa--- CEO: Phillip Oduoza [ Delta Igbo]
• Guinness Nigeria:non nigerian owned company: Founder: Arthur Guinness [white]
• Nestlé Nigeria: non nigerian owned company: CEO: Paul bulcke [white]
• Access Bank---CEO: Paul Wigwe [igbo]
• Flour Mills Nigeria---Paul Gbededo [tribe: unsure, possibly middlebelt]
• Union Bank of Nigeria---CEO: unknown. It Is a UK owned company despite the chairman is igbo [Udo udoma]
• Stanbic IBTC---CEO: Atedo Peterside [ijaw]
• First City Monument Bank--- CEO: Ladi Balogun [yoruba]
• Lafarge Cement WAPCO-- non nigerian owned company. CEO/founder: Leonard Palance [ white]
• Total Nigeria: Non nigerian owned company. CEO: Elizabeth protrust [ white]
• Unilever Nigeria: non nigerian owned CEO/founder: Paul Polman [white]
• PZ Cussions. non nigerian owned company CEO: George Zimmorosi [ white]
• UACN--CEO-Larry Ettah [igbo]
• Cadbury Nigeria Plc---CEO: Udiemio itseuli [edo]

You do realize you ended up just proving what all have been saying accurate. Without whites, SS and SE Nigeria is nothing. You actually just proved majority of the top 20 companies in Nigeria is a non nigerian company but rather a branch of a foreign company.

SIRTee15:
but why did the SE region perform so poorly in infant mortality rate.
no other southern region had such dismal performance in all the indices reported.
u should be worried if u know what that means.
IMR and maternal mortality rate are strong measures of socio-economic status of a community.
Since under 5 and infant MR goes hand in hand and SE didnt record a dismal figure in the former, then I want to believe the latter figure is an error.
if not, then.........I really dont know what to say

and please.......
u cant be boasting of the best HDI when your children find it difficult to celebrate their first birthday.
do something about that first.
This is my last reply to you. I don't like teaching people common sense. I'm not your counselor.

Infant mortality rate was based on 1 out of 1000 children meaning 999 children survived therefore your comment on SE children not seeing their first birth day is relitively stupid.

Btw: incase you weren't aware, Child mortality rate in Nigeria is EXTREMELY high in comparison to every other nation be it developed or developing. SW under 5 mortality rate, which is 45% is not that much lower than SE infant mortality which is 69%. Both case are still a high freaking number and something that needs to be address. So instead of jumping that you scored higher than one region in one sector despite them scoring higher in pretty much everything else, I suggest go home and figure out to reduce the high mortality rate in that country rather than feeling mighty just because you had a slight lower high rate.

One more thing are you serious about maternal and infant mortality goes hand in hand. Are you really serious? I'm not even going to address that cause I honestly don't believe even you believe that BS.

Finally I'm not from SE, I just don't like lying BS especially when the evidence is right infront of us all to read. Is an insult to all intellect
