ogododo: Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party Vice presidential candidate, has said President Muhammadu Buhari does not care if the presidential standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, wins the 2023 election.
He made the claim when he was speaking about the chances of his party at the 2023 general election on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.
Baba-Ahmed said the president had told Nigerians to go and vote for the candidate of their choice, adding that he had also said the only legacy he could leave is a credible election.
He said, “This is heartbreak for APC. Who made Buhari, after almighty Allah? Tinubu. All his failed attempts and Tinubu came and added his three million [votes] and made him president. Who is going to unmake Tinubu after all his political successes? Buhari.
Gunmen nabbed at residence of APC Senator Bandits shoot Imam, abduct worshippers in Katsina mosque “This is because Buhari has finished his eight years…he doesn’t need anything.
“It is not about how well Nigeria was run or how bad Nigeria was run. They have finished with Nigeria, they have finished with everybody. Tinubu can go…he means nothing to Buhari.”
While pointing out that Tinubu is disadvantaged going into the race, Baba-Ahmed said the APC had failed in all its campaign promises to Nigerians.
He said the insecurity in Nigeria escalated in the last seven years while the economy nose-dived
He also said corruption and human rights abuses had increased under the leadership of the APC.
While saying the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not also a march for the LP come 2023, Baba-Ahmed said all the strongholds of the PDP had been taken over by the LP.
He added that the PDP could not boast of having control over the South East, South-South and North Central like before, adding that LP is now in control of over 90 per cent of the North Central.
Baba-Ahmed said LP had been able to debunk the lies against its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the north, claiming that the party now has a strong presence in the north.
He expressed optimism that the LP will comfortably win the 2023 presidential election, saying, “there is a war going on now; good Nigerians vs bad leaders.”
Abia State has sought the assistance of the Peoples Republic of China to build the capacity of entrepreneurs and other citizens engaged in production of garments and leather works in the state.
The government said it planned to support its citizens involved in the production of security uniforms, boots, caps and other gears for use by the armed forces and the para-military agencies in Nigeria and other African countries.
Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, who said this when he visited the Chinese ambassador to Nigeria, Gu Xiaoje, on Wednesday in Abuja, stated that about 100,000 Abia citizens were involved in production of leather shoes, belts, suits and jackets, noting that the small scale manufacturers would be empowered to ensure product consistency and quality.
He said the entrepreneurs need capacity building to ensure consistency and product quality hence his visit to the Chinese envoy to solicit his support.
The governor hinted that his administration is emphasising on technical education for the youths to enable them to be self-reliant.
Ikpeazu encouraged Chinese investors to invest in various sectors of the state economy including the leather and garment industry and agriculture, noting that his state is the highest cocoa producer in the country.
The governor said Abia was the ‘confluence’ of the states in the South-East and South-South regions, stressing that it was also the hub of small scale and medium enterprises in Nigeria.
He said, “Apart from being the hub of small and medium scale enterprises in Nigeria, Abia has a huge market and we make the best dresses, jackets and suits as well as leather shoes and belts. The only thing we want from the Chinese government is capacity building.
“Our aim is to supply military uniforms and gears to all the armed forces and para-military agencies in Nigeria and beyond, but we need capacity to ensure consistency and quality of products; the state government would set up quality control.”
Xiaoje, in his response, promised to encourage Chinese businessmen and investors to support projects and programmes that would benefit them and their host communities.
Time, tick, tick it moves, unrestrained by mortal powers, trampling on all, silently. Leaving some behind, taking many along its gentle or dreary path, for one, a fulfilled destiny, some in regrets, others in grandiose adulation, Yet subjected to the change of time, to some with open gates and palaces of passing filth, to others, the gates are closed as enemy to time. moments alter our state speedily, Joys too soon mutates in this clime. Yet Time, unrelenting. Time, Tell Time. to some, it appears as Friend, to others, it veils itself in darkness as a foe, who can appease Time? it rushes upon us from cradle leaves memories or takes us both away. Leading to the paths of innumerable choices Time, Tell Time.

Estello: "When I was born in March 1952, nobody knew I would join politics, talkless of running for President. My records have been consistent and there was no mutilation. I am a Tinubu proper....those without history and track records dwell in lies against me. One of the presidential candidates have been rumoured not to be a Nigerian, we never dwell on that, we have serious matters to talk about. I'm a graduate of Chicago State University. By the way, I've collected my original certificate from Chicago. I was trained as an accountant by Deloitte. I reached the pinnacle of my career at ExxonMobil. Who among my opponents has these records? That's why they dwell on cheap propaganda......."
