A jealous female lover in Tokunbo Street, Lagos Island has stabbed her man for bringing another woman into their home. It was gathered that the woman, Jumoke Akinyanju was said to have stabbed her man, Cletus Ezedinma, on the bottom during a confrontation. Trouble started when Ezedinma came home in company of another woman identified as Bose, but unknown to him, Jumoke was at home and on seeing the lady, pounced on her. Ezedinma’s effort to stop Jumoke from attacking Bose failed. However, the latter managed to escape from the room. With Bose out of the picture Jumoke held Ezedinma by the collar and started punching him in his face. While Ezedinma tried to leave the room, Jumoke allegedly broke a bottle and stabbed him on his bottom. According to a resident, Caulinus Ahamefule, “Jumoke is a very strong woman. She was assisting her lover with cash when he had no job. But now that he is working, she never expected that the man would bring another woman home. “Jumoke complained that the man did not respect himself. She said she wanted to beat her rival and leave her with a mark but he stopped her. But everybody around blamed her for stabbing her lover and also injuring him in the nose. Ahamefule added that Jumoke on seeing the harm done to her husband knelt down to apologize. Ezedinma has consequently being rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Do you remember the story of a police corporal who killed an inspector and a girl which he claimed was his girlfriend before killing himself? Well see the photo of the three of them after the devilish act took place below. The corporal had accused his boss, an Inspector of trying to woo his alleged girlfriend whom he has spent a lot of money on, and asked him to leave her, but when he refused, he shot the girl, shot the inspector and shot himself. According to reports, the homeless girl isn’t even his girlfriend. Sadly, the police corporal and inspector are said to be married with kids. What a waste. http://www.pijangonews.com/2015/05/see-dead-bodies-of-police-corporal.html

Singer Harrison Tare Okiri, famously known as Harrysong reconciled with his step mum, Mrs. Tonye Okiri at his father’s burial in Warri Delta state yesterday, May 2. The burial, which turned out a carnival, also served as an opportunity for Harrysong and his step mother to bury their long hatchet. Before the burial commenced proper, elders of the Okiri family called a family meeting with Harrysong and his step mom in attendance where they were both advised to sheath their swords. The reconciliation didn’t end there as the singer further made it public during his performance, where he sang a special rendition of his song, ‘Story’ to the delight of his kinsmen and the crowd in attendance. Recall that a few months ago Harrysong released a song titled Story, where he told the story of his life as well as the harsh treatment he received from his step mom. The whole story was yesterday re-written, when he performed another version of the song and said his step mother, showed him love. Analyzing why he sang the song, Harry said, “I sang the earlier version of this song out of anger, but today, I have assumed the position of a father and a husband since my father is no more and I have realized that my step mom actually used those extreme correctional measures because she loves me and because I have released my mistake, I’m doing this version of the song to tell the world how much she loves me. His step mom who was full of tears all through the performance at the family meeting, also apologized to Harrysong for treating him badly then. Harrysong lightened his hometown, Ogbe Ijoh with an electrifying performance alongside his record label boss, Kcee, who didn’t disappoint the massive crowed cheering , singing along and danced with him. http://www.pijangonews.com/2015/05/singer-harrysong-finally-reconciles.html

The owner of Daar Communications PLC, Dr. Raymond Dokpesi has said the president-elect, General Mohammadu Buhari lacks the power to stop his private tv station, AIT, from covering his activities, hence the president-elect might jst be bringing Nigeria back to the era of Decree 4, where a lot of journalists were jailed under his regime. While speaking exclusively to Premium Times, Dokpesi made it clear, AIT has the responsibilities of reporting the activities of the soon to be Nigeria’s first citizen to Nigerians. Continue... “I am sure that the President-elect needs to be reminded of Decree 4, and he should be clearly reminded that section 32 of the constitution makes it mandatory for the media to hold public officials accountable to the people. “The president-elect said that he does not want to be covered by AIT, but AIT has a responsibility to the Nigerian public to report the things that are happening. “There are three national networks available for national coverage in Nigeria, the NTA, AIT and Silverbirds. You cannot stop a foremost private station from reporting in Nigeria, it brings us back to Decree 4 era,” he said. www.pijangonews.com/2015/04/buhari-lacks-power-to-stop-ait-from.html

Kelvin Okorie (aka Okito), the maternal cousin of the 15-year-old Ogun schoolgirl, Precious Nwaigwe, who was kidnapped and sold to Libya, has said he was paid N10,000 for the deal. Okorie spoke on Tuesday at the Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja, where he was paraded along with his friend, Ogbonna Njoku (aka John). Njoku’s brother, Nzube Chukwu, who is based in Libya, was said to have taken custody of Precious before selling her to a love-vendor. The love-vendor claimed she bought Precious for $6,000 and forced her to work for the money. PUNCH Metro had reported that Precious returned to the country on Friday after she finished paying the money and an additional 500 dinars. She had told our correspondent that she was betrayed by Okorie, who she trusted. Precious on Tuesday said she observed Okorie arguing with his friends over money, without suspecting that it was his share of her sale that he was asking for. She also admitted joining street girls in Libya, after she was tortured by the love-vendor so she could raise the $6,000. “I spent almost a year paying the money,” she said. However, Okorie, a tiler, while talking to journalists, denied knowing the money he collected on the fateful day had anything to do with Precious being trafficked. He said, “There was a day I was going to my house in Ojota when a lady called me and said she was my cousin. I said I did not know her, but after she introduced herself to me, I recognised her. “I asked what she was doing in that area by that timeof the night because it was 10pm. She said I should come and see a guy, who she introduced to me as her boyfriend. “She followed me to my house, together with one of my friends, Daniel. She narrated everything that happened to her and how she was attacked by cultists in Ode Remo.” Okorie said his friend, Daniel, who was to travel asked him if Precious would be interested in travelling with him. He said he was happy and discussed it with the victim, who agreed. “She said she had not finished schooling, but I said she could go there to continue her education and even work at a filling station where she could make money and send to her parents. “It was after that day that we went to Ogbonna (Njoku)’s place in Alaba. Ogbonna gave us the number of his brother in Libya and I did not know what they planned. It was while we were at Alaba that Daniel gave me N10, 000.” However, Njoku said his brother, Chukwu, had only spent three years in Libya and that he did not know the business he was into. Njoku, who sells compact discs in Alaba market, claimed Okorie, Precious and Daniel only visited him and demanded his brother’s phone number, which he gave them. “Immediately I connected them with my brother, I left them. I was surprised when the police arrested me. I did not know anything about this. It was after my arrest that I learnt what happened,” he added. A mild drama however played out when the police spokesperson, Kenneth Nwosu, put the two suspects together and querried them. Below is an excerpt of what played out. Police PRO: Okorie, the N10, 000 you collected was for what? Okorie: I said I did not have money and that was why Daniel gave me the money. Police PRO: Was the money meant for the sale of Ugochi (Precious)? Okorie: He just gave me the money. Police PRO: What was it meant for? Okorie: (Stammers)….I collected the money, I did not mean to sell her. Police PRO: Did you tell Ugochi’s mother before taking her to Libya? Okorie: No, I didn’t tell her. Police PRO: Why did you lie to Ugochi that you told her mother you were taking her to Libya? Okorie: (Stammers…) Daniel said I should lie to her (Precious). Police PRO: The girl’s mother is your cousin, the time Ugochi was missing, you were aware, why didn’t you tell her her daughter’s whereabouts when you saw her? Okorie: Sir, I am very sorry. Police PRO: Did Okorie tell you that Ugochi was missing and her parents were looking for her? Njoku: No, he didn’t tell me they were looking for her. Police PRO: Okorie, did you tell him or not that they were looking for her? Okorie: I told him Njoku: Can we swear about that? Nwosu said the suspects would soon be taken to court, adding that the police had already arraigned three other suspects earlier arrested in connection with the abduction. They are Innocent Onyekwe (38), Ugwu Maduabuchi (37) and Christian Chima (19). The Commissioner of Police, Kayode Aderanti, said the police liberated the victim. He said, “The investigation process was long, tortuous and harrowing. We deployed cutting edge technology and adopted out-of-the-box tactics to achieve results. At every turn, the safe liberation of the victim was top on our operational engagements, taking into account the pains and trauma of the parents. “Numerous suspects were arrested, but the breakthrough came when a decoy team of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, led by the Officer-in-Charge of the squad, SP Abba Kyari, arrested Okorie, a cousin to the mother of the victim. Through him, contact was established with the gang members in Libya, which subsequently led to the safe return of the victim to Lagos on Friday, almost a year after her abduction.” http://www.punchng.com/metro-plus/i-was-paid-only-n10000-ogun-schoolgirls-cousin/ Photo: Okorie, Njoku and Precious | credits: Samson Folarin

The reports by some media outfits claiming that terrorists are now in control of Mafa in Borno State are false. The truth is that an attempt by a group of fleeing terrorists who strayed towards the town and engaged in their typical suicide attack was duly repelled by troops.Similarly, the claim by some media organisations that terrorists chased out troops and took over Marte cannot be verified as troops were busy elsewhere during the said attack. However, all effortsto track the terrorists who were reported to have attacked the town have not indicated their presence as claimed.Surveillance activities are however ongoing although there has been no indication of the large number of terrorists as being claimed in some reports attributed to anonymous sources. The terrorist are certainly no longer capable of that level of coordinated action by thousands of terrorists as reported. Also, troops have not retreated from Sambisa forest as claimed by same sources.Rather, the operation is progressing and gaining increasing momentum towards clearing all terrorists hideouts in the forest. It is noteworthy that it is becoming common for stories of attacks o some remote settlements to be fabricated and attributed to anonymous or unidentifiable source in remote places. This is apparently the work of terrorists sympathisers or propagandists. Military operations to eliminate all terrorists hideouts are going on well and the terrorists are being seriously decimated. They will continue to be pursued and prevented from constituting danger to civilian population in their desperation for survival, suicide or publicity. The media is advised to ignore fabrication being churned out by some terrorists sympathizers trying to encourage the terrorists who are in disarray. The truth is that the operation to decimate them from Nigerian territories is progressing well. The military will not be dissuaded by the resurgence of false reports on the operations. The progress will be prosecuted as necessary. www.pijangonews.com/2015/04/beware-terrorists-sympathisers-are.html |

Hundreds of decomposed bodies including those of women and children were discovered by a government committee in Damasak, northern Borno State this past weekend. The committee was set up by Governor Kashim Shettima to assess the level of destruction in towns According to Daily Trust, the victims were suspected to have been killed by Boko Haram insurgents as they fled the town following an onslaught by Chadian forces to recapture the town. Credible sources said decomposed bodies littered the streets while many others were discovered inside houses, shallow graves and rivers that have dried up on the onset of the dry season. The committee spent the weekend recovering and burying remains of the victims under the watchful eyes of Chadian troops who sacked the insurgents from Damasak some weeks ago. Witnesses and government officials told Daily Trust that the insurgents carried out the massacre during their reign of terror that lasted several months in the fishing community. Senator-elect Borno North Senatorial District, Alhaji Abukakar Kyari, said there was "large scale atrocity" committed by the insurgents in Damasak and other towns and villages in northern part of Borno State. However, Kyari denied suggestions that among the victims were some of the 500 children abducted by the militants a few months ago. It was said that the children were locked up in an Arabic school in Damasak and that they died of suffocation and hunger. Kyari said: "I have full knowledge of what the committee did in Damasak and the fact is that there was nowhere that bodies of over 500 children was discovered. "Of course, many people have been killed but nobody or group brought all the dead bodies to one place. " What really happened was that following the liberation of Damasak by Chadian and Nigerien forces and a visit by a committee that we set up, we again sent our people there on Saturday (25th April) and they worked assiduously in recovering many dead bodies. "I cannot tell you the precise number of dead bodies but they are many. The people that went to Damasak divided themselves into various groups, recovered the bodies and buried them in various graves," he said. Kyari said some bodies were recovered in Kareto and others in Damasak. He said preliminary investigations suggested that some of the fresh corpses were those of insurgents killed by Chadian and Niger Republic troops. Community leaders have warned that civilians are still at risk, especially those returning to remote areas like Gujba where the military’s deployment has typically been thin. Many experts agree that Boko Haram is likely to transition from capturing and holding territory to reverting to a pattern of hit-and-run attacks. Analysts say boastings from regional armies should be treated with caution, as the Islamists are far from defeated and can easily regroup, especially if there is a let-up in the military pressure. www.pijangonews.com/2015/04/hundreds-of-decomposed-bodies-including.html |
