President Thomas Boni Yayi of Benin Republic has announced that he will send 800 troops to join a new multinational force tasked with fighting Boko Haram militants,


Yayi made the announcement after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari. He said that Benin will show “solidarity” with its “brothers in arms” in the region by sending “a contingent of 800 men… to permanently combat these outlaws”.

So far, troops for the new multinational force have been drawn from Nigeria, Cameroon, Niger and Chad.

A statement on the Nigerian Police Force website announcing the discovery read, ''On 1st August, 2015 at about 07:45am, objects suspected to be Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs) were discovered to have been dropped at two locations; opposite Abayi Aba Police station and a point along MCC Road, Aba''.

The Nigerian Army has unearthed an abandoned college of education’s chemistry laboratory in Borno State which Boko Haram terrorists had turned into a centre for manufacturing of improvised explosives devices.


the latest discovery was made during the clear out of the terrorist group from Dikwa which was recently liberated by the Nigerian troop.

The Deputy Director Army Public Relations and spokesman for the 7 Division Nigerian Army with headquarters in Maiduguri, Colonel Tukur Gusau made the announcement yesterday.

“Troops of 7 Division Nigerian Army conducting mop up operations to clear Dikwa and environs of Boko Haram terrorists recovered 4 Toyota Hilux vehicles today (Saturday).” he added in a statement.

A 19-year-old scrap metal scavenger, Mohammed Bello, is in custody of the Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, Lagos for allegedly stabbing a generator repairer, Taiwo Falola, to death during an argument over the sale of rabbits in Abbatoir area of Agege, Lagos.

The police said Falola, who reared the rabbits, got into an argument with Bello when he refused to sell his baby rabbits.

Bello allegedly inflicted a three-inch injury on Falola’s neck, causing the deceased to bleed and die before he could even get to the hospital where he was rushed to.

The deceased’s uncle, Mutiu Adebayo, said that one of Falola’s friends rushed to their house that Saturday, on July 4, 2015, and told him Falola had got into an argument and had been stabbed.

“We went to the police division at Abattoir and we were told he had been taken to hospital. By the time we got there, he was already dead. He had even been taken to the mortuary,” Adebayo said. Bello, who said he was from Sokoto, however denied the crime blatantly. He said,

“My brother, Sanusi, is the one who stabbed him and told the people I did it. It was my brother that stabbed him. But they said I was the one who did it. I know nobody in Lagos that is why they implicated me. I did not do it. The knife belongs to Sanusi. I gather scrap metals for sale but I don’t have much money. Sanusi is richer than me and has decided to use that to deal with me.”

Residents of Itu Road, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, on Wednesday, woke to a horror sight, following the murder of a middle-aged barber by a close family friend who was supposedly his boss.

Steven Onowa, a graduate of Federal Polytechnic Oko, from Anambra State, was arrested by men of the Akwa Ibom State police command over the murder of Daniel Bassey Solomon, his close friend and employee.
It was gathered that Onowa, who tried to escape after allegedly killing his friend and dismembering him, was arrested with the aid of a GSM tracking device employed by officers and men of the Police Force.
Explaining the incident which led to the gruesome murder of the said barber, who hailed from Uruan Local Government Area, the state Police Commissioner, Mr Gabriel Achong, said the culprit confessed to have invited his friend to his house and offered him a drink he had already poisoned.

Steven said:

“At about 3.00 a.m, I decided to kill him.

“I gave him the first cut, the guy got up; I gave him a second one and he died and I butchered him to parts,” the suspect confessed.

The commissioner, who confirmed that a quarrel had been on for the past two years between the ‘butcher’ and his victim, even as their case file was still with the SARS department of the command, said the police were successful in tracking down the culprit through the assistance of his landlord, who kept contacting him on phone, as the police kept tracking the calls.

“After stabbing him to death, he used matchet to chop off his hands, head and two legs. He packed the parts in a sack, pulled it out of the house to the major street of Itu Road.”

Apparently tired of evacuating the corpse to a safer place, he was said to have abandoned the deceased in a bag, removed the vital parts, including his two hands, which he dumped in a place along School Road and the head, which he hid in an abandoned dump site on the same Itu Road.

The suspect, who confessed to the crime, said he had called his victim on phone for an urgent meeting in his house, where he drugged his Orijin beer.

According to him, when the late Dan arrived, his killer entertained him with the drugged beer and it was not long before the deceased dosed off, giving his killer the opportunity to tie him, before stabbing him to death.

The suspect’s landlord, Mr Celestine George, who spoke to journalists at the police headquarters, Ikot Akpan Abia, said the police was called after the incident was reported and he had to put a call to the suspect and demanded for the balance of his rent.

“The suspect said he was about travelling and that he was with the balance which he would pay me before travelling. I then asked him to meet me at Itam junction, within the premises of a church where I had already told the SARS men to lay ambush for him.

“I kept calling him until he arrived at the premises of the church where I tricked him to. He came in a car with three armed mobile policemen and I hinted the men of the SARS formation, who had laid ambush for him within the premises and he was apprehended and handcuffed.

“The three mobile policemen were eventually overpowered by the SARS men and the suspect was arrested and taken to the police headquarters at Ikot Akpanabia,” he said.

What annoyed the angry residents of Itu Road the most, according to a neighbour, “is the fact that the suspect, apart from being a close friend of the deceased, was also having an affair with one of the late Dan’s sisters.”

He disclosed that such close relationship led to the suspect opening a barbing salon for his victim along Urua Ekpa Road.

When interrogated by newsmen, Onowa claimed to have killed his victim for daring to raise his voice at him over his N750,000 he had refused to account for.
He said:

“We reported the matter to SARS about two years ago and he agreed on a timeframe to pay up the N750,000. Till today, he has refused to pay the money, so when I invited him to my house that day, he started shouting at and getting angry with me, so I killed him. I am not dealing in body parts. I only cut him to pieces to be able to carry him,” the suspect added

The Nigerian Air force has unveiled two Unmanned Ground Vehicles and a Light Surveillance Aircraft developed by the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna, north-west Nigeria.


This device is designed to detect and pick up improvised explosive devices to safer locations. They were produced by students have the armament engineering department in 2012 and was later modified to a higher level called unmanned ground vehicle type.

Toyin Saraki, the wife of Nigeria’s embattled Senate President, Bukola Saraki, this morning showed up at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following invitation by the anti-corruption body, over alleged involvement in a multibillion Naira misappropriation of bank loans and laundering of funds stolen from Kwara State during the two terms her husband was Governor in the state.

An unidentified Boko Haram facebook page has declared their support to join Islamic State in Iraq to start using chickens as mobile improvised explosive devices. They strap the explosive belts to chickens, which are then encouraged to wander into enemy camps.

Once the chickens are successfully within striking distance without having aroused suspicion, the ISIS extremists apparently use remote controls to set off the devices, killing all those close by.

Here are pics of an incident that happened in my area last two Saturdays. A guy went to his friend's place with his babe. A few hours later, the girl came out screaming rape rape rape. And later the guy came out too screaming help help help. The girl had blood on her clothes and then she was given a cloth to cover herself. But when the guy came out with blood on his body everyone was shocked and that's when we knew the girl bit off his penis and this was done with her teeth. The guy was taken to the hospital but when they got to the hospital they realized that the other part was no longer there. They had to come back home to look for the remaining part, but by then its dead, though they stitched it he's still in the hospital. Photos attached...

Tears flowed freely today at the Defence House, Abuja where the President operates from. Two Chibok women who were invited to meet with the first lady were first ushered in by the Vice-President’s wife, Mrs Osinbajo before she led them in to see the first lady. They all met and the women explained what happened to them. They all cried and the first lady led them to see the president. What he however told them is what we do not know but as they made to leave, all the women took pictures together as they hugged and all cried together. Mrs Osinbajo who managed to talk to the State House correspondents shortly after the meeting spoke with misty eyes.

It was a morning of crying and wailing in Biase Local Government area of Cross River State as an 18 seater bus filled with passengers (including children) involved in a fatal crash that saw 16 out of the 18 passengers dead.

The driver of the bus with one other lucky passenger survived the crash but with greater injuries.

A middle-aged man who left on foot to Abuja, to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President Muhammadu Buhari,has been declared missing.

According to a statement from DSP Haruna Mohammed, Bauchi Police Command’s spokesperson, Nurudeen Maimako, a resident of Dass town in Bauchi state, left his town on May 15 to Abuja, but has not been seen since then.

“ On the 3/6/2015 at about 11:15am,one Muhammadu Hussaini ,male, of Dass town, reported at Dass Divisional Police Headquarters, that on 15/5/2015 at about 6.00am,his son, one Nuruddeen Maimako, male and 38 years, left Dass on Foot Solidarity to attend the swearing in ceremony of President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.Since then, his whereabouts is not known and all efforts made to locate him proved abortive .The last contact he (father) had with Maimako was when he (son) informed them that he was in Jos, Plateau State.“Particulars of the son are: 1.50 metres tall, Jarawa by tribe, light in complexion and speaks English and Hausa fluently.

Members of the public who know his whereabouts are to report at the nearest Police Station, or contact his father through GSM no 07051789119,”
