These days, in Anambra, Imo, and Abia states, state governors reconstruct the dilapidated federal roads with their respective federal allocations. One Nigeria de sweet the conquerors whose federal roads are done by the federal government.
Instead of road, a Calabar/Portharcourt-Onitsha-Benin-Ore-Lagos standard gauge railway lines should have been number one railway system in Nigeria if Nigeria were to be a genuine country. But the railway line will never be because SW people think the people of the Southeast will all emigrate to Lagos through such railway lines. But dissolve Nigeria into more manageable countries so that people of the southeast will no more emigrate to Lagos, the SW people and north of Nigeria refuse. What cheap cash from crude oil and gas deposits in the Niger delta region is doing to these people's medula oblongata, only God knows.
CONQUISTADOR ATTITUDE by some sections of a country toward another section of the same country, is a ticket to ruins for the whole country.
The Anambra State Police Command has arrested five suspected members of a criminal gang in another major raid on a suspected criminal hideout in Nawfia, Njikoka Local Government Area of the State, during which the operatives recovered many sachets of suspected illicit drugs valued at ₦1.45 million, a fake United States $100 note, vandalised electrical wires and cash.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this in a press statement issued on Friday, August 21, 2026, noting that the operation was carried out on Thursday by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu.
According to the statement, the operatives stormed the suspected hideout at about 12:48 p.m. on August 20, following intelligence on criminal activities in the area, leading to the arrest of the five male suspects identified as Omogo Obinna, 29; Okechukwu Nwagba, 28; Echezona Okonkwo, 29; Awal Umar, 23; and Ogadinma Boniface, 33.
SP Ikenga said the raid also yielded substantial quantities of substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa, Indian Hemp, Canadian Loud, Black Mamba, Colorado and Loud, alongside the vandalised electrical wires, ₦72,550 cash and the suspected counterfeit $100 note.
The Police spokesman further stated that preliminary investigation had indicated that the suspects were allegedly members of a criminal network operating within the area.
He added that the suspects had made useful statements to the Police during interrogation and were said to have mentioned the names of other alleged members of the gang, prompting further efforts to track down those still at large.
According to the PPRO's statement, while reacting to the development, the State's Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, commended the operatives for the successful raid and directed that the investigation be conducted thoroughly and professionally.
The Police Spokesman said the Commissioner also ordered intensified efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects and ensure that anyone found to have participated in the alleged criminal activities is brought to justice.
The Command further reaffirmed its commitment to tackling drug-related offences, vandalism and other forms of criminality across the State, while urging residents to continue providing credible and timely information that could assist security agencies in identifying criminal activities and disrupting criminal networks.
Why their black mamba no scatter them with venom? Dregs.
MamaFryo: Tinubu has spent 3 years plus and practically did nothing. Even the electricity that he said he will bring, he couldn't. Now, are we supposed to clap for him because he has told another lie? The same man promised that he will give us 24 hours electricity in 2023. Which work is he promising to do again?
Wetin I even know sef? I'm just an ordinary Nigerian Policewoman.
This time, Tinubu promised nothing except he is going to work harder.
Hard decisions: The man doesn't seem to understand that his hard decisions on his first days in office led to untimely deaths of tens of thousands of Nigeria's poor.
Cum4me: bad belle try appropriate first. Suffer no dey tire you
Bad belle. We hear say bad belle would not allow Hope Uzodinma equip his state's university teaching hospital in Orlu wiith common radiology equipment like CT scan and MRI machines, because he has bad belle for one former Imo gov from Orlu.
BATified2023: at least Tinubu is doing something, your obi kept the money in his bank when he was governor of Anambra n u hailed him
Obi will never be so ethnocentric like Tinubu who constructs a coastal highway to link his SW region to the oil producing areas on the coast but ignore the Ore-Benin-Onitsha road to become a river like that.
Alhaji ibn Mohammed shall be next to be arrested for floating fraudulent office inside the presidency. But the big heads in the presidency pretend they were not aware of the existence of the fraudulent offices..
ddippset: The old man keeps misyarning and indicting himself.
Aregbesola's half salary could buy much more than full salary of today.
Technically Aregbesola has delivered better than Tinubu.
Ask any Osun worker whether half salary in 2016 is not better than full salary in Tinubu's today.
Arguably, Tinubu is yet to be informed of the level of inflation and poverty he inflicted upon Nigerians through his unguarded economic reforms. Thousands of people die every day in Nigeria due to Tinubu-induced inflation.
Tinubu has been president and fails to rejig the dependency political structure which made govs pay half salary. No other politician living clamoured for political restructuring of Nigeria more than Tinubu. Tinubu's playing bad politics that will affect Nigeria's unborn generations adversely.
OBJ and GEJ set up structures to restructure the political system created by successive northern military dictators.
Tinubu become yes man since he became president of Nigeria
excomarow: What development are you talking about... Since 1999 till date, there is no meaningful development or policy made by this blood sucking politicians. Whatever we are enjoying today, somebody laid the foundation. Go and check, in terms of development, I give kudos to the Military era. What IBB did in his 7years plus when it comes to development and some polices, democratic government have not done quarter of its since 1999. An I bet you, if any government today in Nigeria tries to carryout such massive development across Nigeria, this country will be indebted in fact the government will end up owing civil servants and our debt reserve will be more than what it is today...
Yours Truly experienced the military era and the civilian era that began in 1999.
I still stand by my earlier take that the worst civilian government is better than military government, considering the rapid development pattern noticeable all over Nigeria since 1999. Worse, the incursion of soldiers into democracy is behind the massive corrupt practices and the insecurity bedevilling Nigeria today. IBB's OIC debate incubated today's religious crisis in Nigeria. Before IBB, Nigerians hardly knew who was Muslim or Christian in Nigeria.
But all these rush, Tinubu is not going to the US again, he is already ensconced in Nigeria guarded by the legislature, the judiciary and the armed forces he tactically created to suit today's imbroglio about his drug trafficking allegations.
Or is the US going to give Tinubu the Manuel Noriega and Maduro treatment?
Leepeak: that one is very okay nor be bad thing They are supposed to jail the journalist self
Cheap cash from crude oyel and gas deposits in the Niger delta region has reformatted your grey matter. Many countries are rich through tourism. Your brothers in Islamic extremism have denied tourism money to Nigeria. The most important thing about your country should be being happy about your country, not how rich or big your country is.
Cardinal John Onaiyekan has fired back with a bold declaration, insisting that his recent appearance on national television was not to please the government but to speak the truth. At 82, the respected Catholic cleric says he has nothing to fear, delivering a powerful message that is already drawing attention amid Nigeria’s heated political climate.
One percent of Catholics in Abuja alone can sack any occupant of Aso Rock.
In the years of political instability in Latin American countries, Catholic Bishops and the faithful in those countries shaped the political process in those countries.
In Nigeria, military dictators from the north of Nigeria shaped Nigeria's political process and structure.
The Tinubu’s in power can't challenge the lopsided political structure and quasi unitary government system.
The worse civilian government is better than military government. Look at the developments in every corner since 1999. If military dictators had been power from 1999 till today, the best development would have been some fancy buildings in the state capitals.
Slimplush: that osun own happened right in my presence because I was working close by the place, the police wanted to pick one of the boys as he appear to be yahoo boys, the other two boys no gree make dem carry am commot, bike people wey Dey pass just dey stop bike and before you know, them block those police and also that black jeep that cross the police patrol hilux is also a passerby, in short, everyone no gree make dem commot with the guy, na so dem release the guy and people now free the police to be on their way... It's not funny but I love how people gathered in favour of the guy, and the guy self na hustler, just that he was not on duty that day and dress to kill, but in Nigeria as a young man, if you dress neatly and expensive, the thief in uniform will want to whine you if you loose guard.
The policemen would start to demand million Naira bail money from the boy's relatives after they have locked up the boy, deprive him of his freedom because he is a Nigerian.
This is what Police and Army have been doing in the southeast for ages. That's another way to impoverished people of the southeast.
HE Atiku Abubakar, when asked about the removal of fuel subsidy:
“I initially did not oppose the removal of the fuel subsidy. But now that it has been removed, where is the money? Where has the subsidy money gone? Has it been used to improve healthcare, education or security?… pic.twitter.com/igEfQVJbzp
Atiku most intolerant of all. Atiku who literally called for the arrest of a journalist who mentioned Biafra in a newspaper article when Atiku was VP to OBJ.
