I am not sure there are many SW Muslims who can touch Sharia criminal justice system, even with a long pole.

Sharia criminal laws include stoning blasphemous persons to death, stoning women to death for adultery, cutting out the hands of thieves, and other obsolete punishment methods.

The mostly northern Muslim military dictators who supervised Nigeria's Constitution refused to allow Sharia criminal justice system in the constitution, unarguably because they understood the chaos it might cause in a multi religious society like Nigeria.
But beginning 1999, Sani Yerima, the then governor of Zamfara state introduced sharia criminal justice system in Zamfara State. Before President Obasanjo then could open his mouth, sharia criminal justice system had spread like wild fire to the other 11 far north Nigeria states.

A BBC female Reporter then asked Sani Yerima if he didn't know that his sharia criminal justice system would lead to breakup of Nigeria.
