Typical of Tinubu urchinns who believe that by intimidation and abuse of opposition, they will impose an ex drug trafficking offender and mentally handicapped presidential candidate to rule the 220m saner people in Nigeria, through a most deceptive and fraudulent election process ever conducted in Nigeria.

Fact is that, apart from late Gani Fawheinmi, no other Nigerian more than the 2FKs - Femi Fani Kayode and Festus Keyamo- as well as Bayo Onanuga, had worked all their lives in the past to establish the fact that Bola Tinubu was caught and punished for drug trafficking in the US. Festus Keyamo wrote volumes on Nigeria's dailies on how Bola Tinubu engaged in drug trafficking business in the US.

Looool. Very typical.

Emotional rants induced by emotional impulses and Igbotic humanoids are like bread and butter. grin

Can an Igbo ever say anything logical without being emotional?
3 Muslims and one Christian contested a presidential election after APC used Muslim-Muslim ticket to polarise the election to be a contest between Muslims and Christians in Nigeria nearly equally divided between Muslims and Christians.

Emotions apart, don't you think that the 3 Muslim presidential candidates would share the votes of Nigeria's Muslims, and therefore make the Christian presidential candidate WIN with a wide margin of votes ahead of a runner-up?

Emotions apart, what do you think must have made each of the two Muslim presidential candidates score more votes than the Christian presidential candidate, if not that the election was heavily manipulated to ensure victory for any of the two foremost Muslim presidential candidates?

Abuja harbours the most informed population in Nigeria. The pulse of the country is reflected on the voting pattern in Abuja election.
That should have been one of the reasons why the makers of the Constitution insisted that a presidential candidate must win 25% of votes of Abuja residents before declared winner.

Stop arguing blindly and do some research now... Pick your phone, go to chrome, click on search column, press GOOGLE, click on the search column then press "SECTION 299 of Nigerian Constitution"

Then, come back and continue this conversation.
Mr Google himself..

The section 299 of the constitution asked for treatment of Abuja as a state in some situations but the same constitution stipulates that a presidential candidate must win 25% in 2/3 of the Nigeria's number of states and Abuja.
If the constitution regards Abuja to be treated as a state in every matter, why wouldn't the constitution for short stipulate must win 25% of votes in all the states of Nigeria; and not go again to add ..and Abuja? It's simple to understand that the constitution wants a win of 25% in 2/3 of the number of states and 25% of votes in Abuja as well.

CCTV footage shows moment 21year old victim walks into a Surrey police station to report Ekweremadu.

Senator Ike Ekweremadu, his wife, Beatrice, and their doctor, Obinna Obeta will be sentenced on May 5 after they were convicted of organ trafficking, in the first verdict of its kind under the Modern Slavery Act in the United Kingdom.

The former deputy senate president, his wife, Beatrice, 56, and Dr. Obinna Obeta, 51, were found guilty of facilitating the travel of a young man to Britain with a view to his exploitation after a six-week trial at the Old Bailey.

They conspired to bring the 21-year-old Lagos street trader to London to exploit him for his kidney, the jury found.
The court believed the FALSE story of the 21 year old that he did not consent in Nigeria to donating a kidney to the Ekweremadus daughter.
A set objective to convict the Ekweremadus for Senator Ike Ekweremadu's participation with Saraki to snatch Nigeria's senate leadership posts from President Buhari's APC in 2015.

Saraki was later framed for armed robbery. Saraki was lucky he was framed in Nigeria. He walked out of it.

Abuja is considered the 37th state pursuant to the provisions of section 299 of the constitution, so if Tinubu has the 25% in 2/3 of the 36 states already as constitutionally mandated, getting 25% in ABJ the 37th state becomes irrelevant.
Abuja is not a state.
Abuja can only be considered as a state by persons like you (if you are
judge), for your own convenience.
But Nigeria's Constitution recognises 36 states and Abuja, and made it clear in black and white that a presidential candidate must also win 25% of votes in Abuja to be able to govern Abuja.

That's what we're saying. The Supreme Court has ruled several years ago that the FCT has no such privilege. It is to be treated as a State, though not one.

Well, we can agree to disagree.
The Supreme Court is not infallible. Even if ruled in the past to regard Abuja as a state, it's ruling was not implemented because Abuja has had no state governor or state legislature after the ruling of convenience to regard Abuja as a state.
Now, there is a dire need to uphold the contents of the constitution, not the old imaginative and unconstitutional ruling of Abuja as a state. There are 36 states and Abuja.

FUNNY COMMENT!!! grin grin grin

That's why the constitution made it clear that FCT is a state when it comes to Election in section 199 of the Nigerian Constitution. The residents of FCT have the right to vote and be voted for which was why it was captured in the section 134 of the constitution. If not, votes from FCT will not valid.

FCT doesn't have any special treatment when it comes to election. FCT is a STATE like the other 36 states when it comes to election.
Abuja is not a state. The Constitution of Nigeria did not recognise Abuja as a state. The Constitution of Nigeria said: a presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 2/3 of the number of Nigeria's states .. And Abuja.
If I need 24 persons and Mr Voucher, if the 24 persons come to me without Mr Voicher, my need has not been met without the arrival of Mr Voucher.

Mehn let's make use of our God given sense .common sense should teach us that while Abuja is mention in that section of the constitution is to enable the 25% vote one get in Abuja to be considered as one of the states the person has gotten 25%
Abuja is where the president lives and governs through the boss of the Federal Capital territory.
The makers of the Constitution made getting 25% of the votes from residents of Abuja compulsory for every presidential candidate because one must get approval from the people one governs, so that the governance system will be with ease.

Abuja is recognised in the Constitution as Federal Capital Territory, not a State. The characteristics of a Nigerian state is it has a state governor and state legislature. Abuja has neither state governor nor state legislator.
The president of Nigeria governs Abuja through the office of the boss of the Federal Capital territory.

The makers of the Constitution want a Nigerian presidential candidate to score 25% of votes of Abuja residents as a prerequisite to be welcome by residents of Abuja that the president governs.
Abuja as a state is only in the figments of imagination of whoever calls Abuja a state in order to achieve a devious goal.

Washington DC is special also. POTUS lives there same as Buhari resides in Abuja. Ditto London where the Prime Minister lives and where Parliament sits and most MP's, similar to Nigerian legislators and Abuja, must have second homes in.

Do you see those Western nations, or even those in Africa, practising the backwardness Nigerians are supporting in 2023 because some are desperate for Obi to win?

The touted vote superiority or elitism of Abuja, with no similar seen worldwide, will be binned for good.

Whatever motivated those who proposed it, in the first place, is outdated and discredited today. It is a retrogressive consideration today that cannot be upheld. As simple as that.

Like trying, in 2023, to uphold pre-1950 laws in the USA that decreed black people could not vote when all around you worldwide have embraced progressive change.

Many ways to recognise Abuja's uniqueness that do not include openly discriminatory and throwback practices a single individual should not engage in let alone the biggest black nation on Earth that has a duty to lead by example.
The 1999 Constitution of Nigeria has to be amended to remove the phrase "and Abuja" before any court can waive getting 25% of votes from Abuja residents by a presidential candidate. It's not left for the courts to amend the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria. It's the duty of the National Assembly to amend the constitution. The courts can only interprete the constitution.
For now, the constitution has it very clear that a presidential candidate must win 25% of votes of Abuja residents, as well as win 25% of votes in 24 states before declared winner of presidential election.

Even entertaining your argument, does that make Abuja a geographical space full of Einsteins and rocket scientists whose votes are superior to those of other Nigerians elsewhere to the extent they must be pivotal to who becomes President or not?

The 25% Abuja vote thingy is patently discriminatory and insulting to other States of Nigeria and their indigenes.

Even a child will tell you it is patently flawed, because it hints at the supremacy of Abuja voters, and will be thrown out in seconds.

I have not seen similar anywhere else in the world, I.e London or New York vote superior to others, and I really cannot see how anyone can entertain a backward precedence that supports what is patently discriminatory, unprogressive and flawed.
Abuja is special because that's where the president lives.
Therefore, to be welcome in Abuja, a president is expected to get permission from residents of Abuja through, at least 25% of votes from Abuja residents. That's what the writers of the constitution had in mind when they mentioned the 36 states AND Abuja.

A state has a governor. Abuja has no governor.
