There has also been an intense argument over whether state governors have the powers to extend the jurisdiction of Shari’a courts to criminal law or to create new courts.

The constitution mentions Shari’a state courts of appeal (sections 275 to 279) but refers to their jurisdiction only in the area of “civil proceedings involving questions of Islamic personal law” and does not mention that they have powers to try criminal cases.

Your lord, Tanko Muhammed, as as CJN pleaded that Sharia criminal laws and justice system be included in Nigeria's 1999 Constitution. He added: [after all, we have the numbers in the National Assembly to have Sharia criminal laws and justice system get included in Nigeria's Constitution]. It's not using peppery mouth spewing insult that can win you arguments. Get informed beforehand.

Stop yapping nonsense based on your ignorance, under the Nigerian constitution Northern Nigeria states can implement Sharia law, it is no different from states in Nigeria establishing customary court
laws of southern Nigeria.
Sharia CIVIL LAWS ARE ALLOWED IN NIGERIA'S 1999 CONSTITUTION, JUST LIKE CUSTOMARY LAWS COURTS ARE ALLOWED IN THE 1999 CONSTITUTION. Sharia criminal laws are not allowed in Nigeria's Constitution.
I have no time for person like you.
Politics › Re: Anybody Calling For Nnamdi Kanu's Release Is Nigeria’s Enemy- Bashir Ahmad by onuman: 1:47pm On Jan 20, 2025
Nobody in Nigeria agitated for restoration of Biafra until 1999 after the sharia states urinated on Nigeria's Constitution through adoption of sharia criminal laws. Sharia criminal laws include stoning blasphemous persons to death, stoning women to death for adultery, cutting out the hands of thieves and other obsolete and painful punishment methods. Nigeria's 1999 Constitution forbids sharia criminal justice system. One of the earliest demands of the CJN of Nigeria, Tanko Mohammed, appointed by then President Buhari was for Islamic sharia criminal justice system be included in Nigeria's Constitution.
Sharia criminal justice system and subsequent emergence of Boko Haram fighting for a Nigeria to be governed with Sharia criminal laws. - these have drained Nigeria's purse as well as cost tens of thousands of citizens of Nigeria. It's responsible for the abysmal insecurity level all over Nigeria.
Politics › Re: Anybody Calling For Nnamdi Kanu's Release Is Nigeria’s Enemy- Bashir Ahmad by onuman:
Bashir Ahmads of far north Nigeria urinated on Nigeria's Constitution when they adopted unconstitutional Islamic sharia criminal justice system beginning 1999, and that gave rise to Boko Haram, that prompted
the Nnamdi Kalus in the southeast to begin secessionist moves.
The human death tolls from adoption of sharia criminal laws and the huge amount of funds spent on fighting Boko Haram and subsequent Islamic extremists in the north of Nigeria, exceed by hundred million times any damage Nnamdi Kalu must have done to Nigeria.

State police in Nigeria is needed to curb insecurity in Nigeria. You think of election and state governors only - like Wike.
An Okoro as CP in Adamawa state doesn't understand what goes on in Adamawa. A Buhari as PC in Imo state doesn't understand what goes on in Imo state.

Then, APC should build a super flying train from Abuja to Lagos, as if it is not bitter people like you that is always wailing over any projects from Lagos connecting other parts of the country. APC already has a blue print of the road projects they want to complete across the country, let them do their work. Draw up your own lists and give it to your online President if he ever smells the seat.
You people are building rail lines to Niger Republic to improve on flooding Nigeria with ISWAP operatives from the Sahel region of West Africa. APC is a Janjaweeed political party bent on total Islamization of Nigeria.

Tinubu needs to be studied as a course, he is very unpredictable so much so, his enemies cannot predict his next moves. All these Governors, rather than learn from Jagaban, they're busy fighting their predecessors.
Show me any projects of Buhari that Tinubu has abandoned?, none. He's going to complete everything and also build his own projects, that's how to build legacy and write your name in gold. Past Presidents have come and cancel projects of their predecessors to score cheap political points. This very project must be completed, we have already obtained loans for it and work is ongoing, it would be foolish to stop it. It is also very important to send a message to the Junta in Nigeria republic that Nigeria is not having any beef with the country. Niger is our little brother, if we use one hand to smack them on the butt, we use the other hand to draw them closer.
Tinubu said he would continue from where Buhari stopped. Buhari government refused Standard gauge railway lines in the southeast and most of the southsouth regions.
In one country, trains from one side cannot run in another side. That is transportation disaster for a country fuelled by ethno-religious bigotry. Never obtained in another country of the world. APC is demonstrating that Nigeria is a temporary country. Everyone in power scrambles for proceeds from oil and gas deposits in the Niger delta region to develop his area and waiting for the end time of Nigeria.

PBAT, kwontinue. An ethnic group numbering less than 10million people in the northwest region is more important to serve with ultramodern Standard Gauge railway lines, than the ethnic groups numbering more than 70 million people in the southeast and southsouth regions of Nigeria that are denied modern Standard Gauge railway lines, and from where the funds to repay the loans shall mostly be obtained.

Whereas it was a Nigeria armed forces military coup planned and executed by soldiers from many ethnic groups in Nigeria, they can't point to specific Igbo soldiers who did the killings during the coup.

Well this is the truth, you can't dump over 100 tribes together to make one country with no single agreement.

We'll keep fighting insecurity till God knows when, it was the Niger Delta militants in the early 2000s then Boko Haram up north then can the UGM in the South East, all fighting to secede.

Unless the government solve the root cause of the problem then we'll keep using billions that could have been used to develop other sectors in fighting insecurity
INSECURITY.
With their adoption of unconstitutional Islamic sharia criminal justice system,
the Sharia states of northern Nigeria brought insecurity to Nigeria. Boko Haram never minces words whenever it says that it's fighting for a country to be governed with Sharia criminal laws.
Insecurity has engulfed all the states of Nigeria.
This inseccurity has been eating loads of funds and gulping human lives like Nigeria is in a brutal war.
Few or no politicians outside the far north states of Nigeria would be bold to say how inseccurity came to Nigeria, if they do, the lopsided political structure of Nigeria will filter them out of Nigeria's political process. The political structure was created by northern military dictators to overwhelmingly favour the old Northern region.
If Nigeria is not restructuring politically now, let the country be dissolved for the sake of humanity in Nigeria.

Those who killed those leaders during the coup were foolish. But you are like more foolish to attribute the killings to Igbo soldiers despite all the insiders' information that it was a coup by Nigeria army with planners and executioners from Yoruba, Hausa-Fulani, Igbo etc in the armed forces then.

Ndumes of Arewa need not be bothered with Tinubu's Tax Reforms because they can use Arewa undue overrepresentation in the FEC and NASS to upturn Tinubu's Tax Reforms once Tinubu steps down from Aso Rock. Tinubu knows about the skewed and lopsided political structure of Nigeria where one region (north) now has 20 federating units, but two southern regions now have only 17 new federating units. Jonathan CONFAB restructured the political structure but Tinubu's APC truncated implementation of the CONFAB's recommendations.
