PoliticsMinisterial List: Buhari Only Sent 21 Names, To Send Others Before Tuesday by Onwe101(op): 10:24pm On Sep 30, 2015
ABUJA- AT last, Senate President Bukola Saraki
Wednesday received the Ministerial list from President
Muhammadu Buhari, just as the names would be
forwarded in batches.
A source told Vanguard that instead of thirty – six
names, President Buhari sent twenty – one names as
Ministerial nominees to the Senate President, with plans
to send others very early on Tuesday before plenary
session.
Senate President Saraki received the long awaited
ministerial list from the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari at 4.59
pm.
The Chief of Staff to the President was accompanied to
Saraki’s office by the Special Adviser to the President on
National Assembly Matters, Senator Ita Enang.
There was a new twist to the submission of Ministerial
list to the Senate as it was received directly by the Senate
President and brought by the Chief of Staff to the
President as against the tradition where the office of the
Senate President through the registry receives it from the
Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly
Matter( Senate). source http:// www.vanguardngr.com/2015/09/ministerial-list-buhari-only-sent-21-names-to-send-other-before-tuesday/

PoliticsNigeria’s Economy Worse In 90 Days Of APC – PDP by Onwe101(op): 5:44am On Aug 30, 2015
Says Nigerians Have Been Scammed With Empty Promises

* APC has brought a sudden decline in the GDP, losses and hardship to the citizens

By Henry Umoru

ABUJA- NATIONAL leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Saturday took a swipe at the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying that the nation’s economy worse in ninety days.
According to PDP, Nigerians were scammed with empty promises since the President was inaugurated in May 29.

In a statement Saturday by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, the PDP stressed that instead of gains, official reports show that the last three months under the APC-led government have brought a sudden decline in the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), with attendant losses and hardship to the citizens, while the government embarks on propaganda of imaginary achievements, in addition to attempts to foist harsh economic regime to cover its ineptitude.

Metuh said, “the shambolic state of the nation’s economy within the period, which represents the worst in the nation’s contemporary history, is a direct fallout of uncertainty created by the inability of the Buhari-led government to chart a clear-cut economic policy, worsened by abuse of regulations, and flagrant violation of constitutional provisions.
“If not for crass incompetence or a possible ulterior motive to subjugate Nigerians for selfish reasons, what else explains the adamant stance of this administration in running a government without the statutory components of a full cabinet and precise fiscal policy direction, even when the negative consequences of this strange totalitarian approach are taking serious toll on the economy and the polity in general?

“Whereas the APC led government is busy with its propaganda of imaginary achievements, official reports from the National Bureau of Statistics show that that the economy is being grounded with Nigeria’s real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) plunging with about 2.35%, while job creation has dropped by 69 percent.

“In the last three months under an inept and poorly coordinated APC-led government, our nation’s economy, which before now, held the record as the largest in Africa and one of the fastest growing in the world, suddenly plummeted as officially evidenced in the lull in the capital and money market sectors which have lost billions of naira; spiral rate of inflation, and stagnation in domestic and foreign direct investments, with investors scared away due to the uncertainty arising from lack of economic direction and apparent confusion in the polity.

“This is in addition to the halt in infrastructure development projects in most parts of the country with associated massive job loss, closure of auxiliary small scale businesses, low purchasing power of citizens, among other negatives that have bedeviled the economy since the coming of this government, despite the much APC celebrated promissory notes from the President’s diplomatic shuttles, especially his recent visit to the United States.

“Nigerians would recall that we recently raised alarm on the negative consequences of the recent foreign exchange transaction restrictions, wherein this government is making it impossible for honest Nigerians to engage in free trade and regulate their personal activities as guaranteed by the constitution.

PoliticsAmaechi Fires Back: Wike Also Corrupt; I Won’t Appear Before His Commission by Onwe101(op):
Immediate past governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike
Amaechi, yesterday, accused his successor, Mr Nyesom
Wike, of also being corrupt.
The former governor spoke, yesterday, in Port Harcourt,
while addressing loyalists of the All Progressives Congress,
APC.
Amaechi said he was in the Rivers State capital to quietly
attend a church program and will leave same day, adding
that he had clear documents pointing at the alleged
corruption acts of the governor.
Amaechi vowed never to appear before the Justice George
Omereji Commission of Inquiry investigating alleged sale of
the assets of the state by his government, insisting that the
establishment of the commission did not comply with
constitutional provisions.
The former governor said he will appear before any properly
constituted commission in the state.
“I have been listening while in Abuja to Nyesom Wike
accusing me of corruption and I laugh.
Even Nyesom Wike knows that I don’t like money, he knows
that”, he stated.
“The pressure Wike is putting on us is to let somebody call
us together to a meeting to withdraw our case challenging
his election from court.. The party has a right to go to court.
The law of Nigeria says there is no independent candidate.
Even if I, Amaechi, Peterside withdraw, APC will carry on
with the case.
“The funny thing about the young man is that he knows I
know him. I was his governor, I have documents to show
that he is a contractor. I am not a thief; so I don’t know
what this young man is talking about.”
The former governor said he had had only one local bank
account since he became governor.
According to him, he never handled any contract while he
was governor.
The former governor, who accused INEC, SSS, Army and
militants of conniving to rob the APC of victory in the last
gubernatorial election in the state, said he and his party will
continue to fight until they get justice from the court.source http:// www.vanguardngr.com/2015/08/amaechi-fires-back-wike-also-corrupt-i-wont-appear-before-his-commission/

PoliticsIf Igbos Are Butchered Again, Nigeria Will Break; Fani- Kayode Warns by Onwe101(op): 10:03pm On Aug 17, 2015
ABUJA- FORMER Director of Publicity, Peoples Democratic
Presidential Campaign Organisation, PDPPCO, Chief Femi
Fani- Kayode Monday lampooned the Convener of the
Coalition of Northern Politicians, Academics, Professionals
and Businessmen, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, describing his
comments that President Muhammadu Buhari owes Igbos
nothing as most
most insensitive, cruel and Puerile.
Responding to comments credited to Junaid, Fani- Kayode
in a message to Vanguard noted that his statements that If
the igbo feel marginalised they should attempt to break
away again, was most uncharitable and careless, warning
that if there was any attempt to butcher the Ibos or a repeat
of what happened in 1966, it would be resisted by not only
the Ibos, but by all Nigerians, with attempt to secede, which
according to him, would be successful.
According to him, the like of Junaid must learn from history,
our mistakes, preach peace and peaceful coexistence, rather
that boast and beat our chests for yet another round of war.
Fani- Kayode reacting to a statement titled, ” If the igbo feel
marginalised they should attempt to break away again”- Dr.
Junaid Mohammed, The Punch Newspaper, 17th August
2015, said, “Given the immense suffering that the igbo were
subjected to both before, during and after the civil war this is
one of most insensitive, cruel and puerile comments that I
have heard in recent times.
“I daresay that if Junaid Mohammed’s Nigeria ever butchers
over 100,000 innocent igbo civilians again, as they did in the
north in 1966 just before the civil war, there will indeed be
another attempt to secede, but this time it will not only be
successful, but they will also take many others with them.
“Rather than boast and beat our chests, we must learn from
our history and we must never repeat its mistakes.”
Dr. Junaid Mohammed, had in an interview in one of the
national dailies( not Vanguard) , dismissed the sentiments
shared by a former Governor of Anambra State that the Igbo
have not been treated fairly in the governance of Nigeria.
Junaid who noted that people of the Igbo nation have
enjoyed favourable treatment, said it was wrong to reward
the Igbo simply on the basis of the Nigerian Civil War, which
lasted between 1967 and 1970.
Mohammed had said, “If it is about Buhari making the
appointments based on merit, I have no problems with it. I
don’t believe Buhari or Nigeria owes any Igbo anything. I
don’t care what Ezeife says; if they had seceded, there
would have been no Nigeria today. As people who acted
outside the interest of Nigeria as a country, to expect
compensation is a very odd logic.
“If the Igbo don’t like it, they can attempt secession again. If
they do, they must be prepared to live with the
consequences. Nobody owes them anything and nobody is
out to compensate them for anything.” source http:// www.vanguardngr.com/2015/08/if-igbos-are-butchered-again-nigeria-will-break-fani-kayode-warns/#sthash.IgjQQc67.dpuf
