As controversies continue to trail the purchase of N255M worth of bullet-proof cars by the Aviation Ministry for its Minister, different reactions have continued to greet the development. Even as the Ministry had today accepted that the report by SaharaReporters was quite true, it argued that the vehicles were not private, but officials, hence meant for any other Minister even after Oduah had left office. Online news site, SaharaReporters, had reported on Tuesday that the vehicles were delivered to the Minister sometime in August. According to the report, the transaction for the purchase of the two BMW cars had started in June, but the request for the delivery and payment were done between August 13 and 15, 2013. However, reacting to the development, Engr. Rotimi Fashakin, former publicity Secretary to the now rested CPC and a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress has said that the revelation was a clear manifestation of an unserious government. The APC stalwart who spoke with DailyPost correspondent on phonet said that the development goes to point out why the aviation industry continues to face different challenges since the inception of Jonathan’s administration. He said, “The salient questions to ask are; were the bullet-proof cars part of the 2013 appropriation budget? If not, why did the Aviation Ministry buy such expensive cars? If what we are thinking is true, then it won’t be wrong to conclude that what we are experiencing in the aviation industry today, the crashes and other terrible managerial issues, are as a result of the vein glorious and annoying ventures that have taken over the aviation industry today, including corruption. You can now see for yourself, the kind of Minister piloting the affairs of the ministry. I’m sure that the President will retain the same woman if he is returned elected, but God forbid. Speaking further on what he termed the failure of Jonathan’s administration, Fashakin said, “this is the same regime that is supervising a National Conference. Do you need a National Conference to see all the kleptomenia, the tricks and the effrontery ongoing in the system? Do we really need a national conference to see that this administration does not mean well for the country?” Dismissing further the idea of a National Conference, he said, “there are certain things you don’t legislate on. Recall that when Babangaida wanted to return the country to Democracy, many of us knew that the mission was not meant for the good of the country, we knew that the mission was not meant to achieve anything. It was not shocking to Nigerians when the election was nullified because the aim in the first place was not to return to democracy, it was merely aimed at diverting attention of the Nigerian public. It’s the same thing Jonathan’s government is doing. The regime is only interested in buying time for itself, it’s a fluke of itself. Ask yourself whether the administration has the capacity to convene a national conference. Ask yourself again on the positive impression this government has created at the centre. The national conference is not meant to achieve anything. Remember that people from his own political party and the North do not want him back. He is using the conference to corner them in. There is no national interest in the call for a conference. That’s why those of us who are patriots have said ‘no’ to a national conference, and have termed it another avenue to waste the nation’s resources, and to waste useful time of the suffering Nigerians. The National Conference is a Euphemism to resolve PDP crisis, simple.” He had affirmed. Source http://dailypost.com.ng/2013/10/17/bullet-proof-cars-rotimi-fashakin-berates-stella-jonathan/

With all the negative publicity Chris Brown has been receiving, I think this would actually go a long way for him. The singer tweeted on his timeline that if you were surviving on paycheck to paycheck, that you shouldn’t waste your money buying his album. A great gesture by the singer but would it have been even greater if he gave out free copies? ![]() Source http://www.informationng.com/2013/10/chris-brown-tells-his-financially-unstable-fans-not-to-waste-money-buying-his-album.html

ABUJA—THE Senate, yesterday, said that the Nigerian government would not fold her arms and watch neighbouring African countries that have benefitted immensely from the country’s peace keeping operations and other gestures attack Nigerian nationals in their countries. Chairman Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Matthew Nwagwu, who stated this while reacting to attacks on some Nigerians in Guinea Bissau said that it was high time Nigeria began to bark and bite to stop the unwarranted and provocative attacks on her nationals. Senator Nwagwu who represents Imo North on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, described the attack which claimed lives of some Nigerians in the embassy as unfortunate, bad and barbaric. He said: “The latest incident in Guinea Bissau is very, very unfortunate. And saying unfortunate is a very polite way of saying something that is very bad and barbaric and unexpected of a friendly country. If you remember, Nigeria even as we speak now has her peace keeping forces in Guinea Bissau helping that country to stabilize. “Nigeria has technical aid workers who are working in various ministries and department at no charge in that country. Nigeria has so many other aids and assistance being rendered to that country so why I said it is unfortunate is after all these things the people of that country also decided to attack Nigerians and kill some of our nationals.” “So it is a very sad development and I believe it is an attack too many, perhaps this is the time for government to really show our neighbours and Africans and others that we can bite and show our anger and disapproval of what has happened in real terms. Otherwise people will be taking us for granted and other countries will continue to slap us left and right. “For the moment, I am aware that government has sent a delegation to that country to meet with authorities to get to all the facts on ground and then, give the government of Guinea Bissau, some of our feelings and decides how this matter can be handled”. He added that reciprocity will go a long way to discourage other hostile countries who may be nursing similar intention from embarking on similar attacks. Nwagwu regretted that as the Nigerian government was working round the clock to render free assistance to some of its neighbours, instead of the countries to reciprocate the gesture, they were busy attacking Nigerians without reasons. On details of the findings the delegation in Guinea has made, he said, “I am aware that the government has sent high power delegation to that country to meet with the authorities to get all the facts on ground and give the government of Guinea Bissau some of our feelings and conditions on how this matter can be resolved. “I cannot say all the details here but our team is already in Guinea Bissau working with our Ambassador who will brief them exactly what happened and then Nigeria will present her conditionalities for an amicable resolution of this problem including restitution and other conditionalities so we are waiting for that bilateral meeting to be concluded for us to know how to proceed from there.” Nwagwu said that the outcome of bilateral meeting between the Nigerian delegation and the authorities of Guinea Bissau would determine the position the senate would take and the type of advice it would give to the federal government. “The Nigerian team has gone there with a clear instruction and shopping list, and we have to wait and see what they will come back with. The minister might have some ideas and of course, these ideas will be conveyed to the delegation but the delegation has to also get the other party to respond then come back and report appropriately. It is after they have come back that we will know what to do”, he said. Source http://scannewsnigeria.com/featured-post/guinea-bissau-we-ll-not-tolerate-attacks-on-nigerians-again-senate/ |

A political mobilization and pressure group, Nigeria Mandate 2015, has declared that no amount of pressure from the G-7 governors can stop President Goodluck Jonathan from contesting and winning the 2015 presidential elections. The national coordinator of the group, Ntufam Ojong Okonjor, who made this known on Tuesday in Calabar, the Cross River State capital said, “without the so-called G7 governors, Jonathan will win. He did not win election based on the G7 governors, it was Nigerians from different walks of life, who voted him to be president. “When the president contested in 2011, all those G7 states, apart from Rivers and Adamawa, did not vote for the president. They all voted for the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC). Were they sincere? No. Infact, they committed a crime against the party and were supposed to be expelled from the party right from the time they failed to canvass votes for the president,” he said. The G-7 governors comprising of Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers) and Sule Lamido (Jigawa) have been locked in a battle with the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, and the presidency over issues bordering on control of party structures in their various states, removal of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur as National Chairman of the party and President Jonathan’s purported one term pact with some PDP governors prior to the 2011 general elections among others. But Ojong, who is the Board chairman of Cross River Broadcasting Corporation, CRBC, vowed that his group would not relent in its efforts to ensure President Jonathan deployed every means possible to actualize his reelection bid come 2015. He said while his organization supported good governance, it would ensure that Mr. Jonathan does not jettison his ambition as such opportunity would never come again for the South-South. “We, in the South-South, will never allow any other group to produce president of Nigeria, because if we do, when will the turn of South-South come again? It will never come so easily and soon. If President Jonathan’s second term ambition will tear the country apart, let it happen. We object to vehemently to Jonathan thinking of jettisoning it. “If you chronicle the list of all those who have been in power, you will notice that all of them had their second terms. The constitution of the country guarantees his ambition. He has constitutional right to gun for and accomplish his second term,” he said. On the proposed National Dialogue, Ntufam Okonjor said it was not the solution to the country’s problems, but a way forward. “It will create an atmosphere where everybody will come to the table and argue equitably. “However, I think Nigeria’s problems lie in the hands of Nigerians themselves, but at the conference, discussants should strongly discourage the continual recycling of the old war horses, whose presence in government continually make the poor poorer. These people perpetually keep juicy government positions to their children, even to those yet unborn,” he added.source http://www.informationng.com/2013/10/if-jonathans-ambition-will-tear-the-country-apart-let-it-happen.html

Personally I wouldn't date not to talk of marrying an actress or let's just say any female celebrity. You know why? I can't stand the movie romance because I am a very jealous person. But on the contrary of my kind of person, the husband to Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe seems to be enjoying his wife's movies to the extent that he had to query her for not kissing a man properly in a movie. In a recent interview she had, the actress said: I don't think he cares, because he knows it’s a make-believe sort of thing. There was even a film that I’m supposed to kiss somebody, and when he watched the film he told me that I did not do it well. He said it was not done professionally. The only thing I cannot do is to act nude source http://upnaija.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=19235

This may sound incredible but popular music artiste, Chinagorom Onuoha, better known as African China, insists he had 168 kids from different women before he got married. Speaking with P.M.News Sunday in Festac Town, Lagos, Onuoha disclosed that he is not a sex-freak but he was unable to turn down sexual advances from his teeming female fans. Onuoha, who sometime ago was involved in a sex scandal in the UK, said he decided to accept the pregnancies because he did not want the ladies to abort the pregnancies. “It is not that I enjoy running after the opposite sex, but as a star, I always find them around me and there's no way I can just chase them away. As a matter of fact, I had an option of telling the ladies to abort the pregnancies but I know the Bible is against such.” Yeah right you have 168 children in your mid 30's, Mr China. Continue.. Raised in the slum of Ajegunle, Onuoha said he wonders why people castigated hip hop artiste, Innocent Idibia, better known as Tuface, for having children from different women. With the sex scandal still haunting him, Onuoha warned people who may want to bring his hard earned reputation into disrepute to be prepared for war. “My brother, some people may want to use the sex scandal against me but they do not know that they may incur the wrath of the law because I have been certified clean by a competent law court in the United Kingdom. Such people would pay through their nose,” he said. Commenting on how he is being perceived by his fans for fathering 168 kids, he noted that he bears no grudge over their reactions as he owes them no apology. On his sudden disappearance from the music scene, he said he didn’t go off the music circuit but had been in the studio working on a new album that is about to be released. According to him, “I’m not finished yet, I am still in the music industry. My fans who want to see more of me can come to Ibiza Nite Club where I anchor a show.” He urged his fans to be prepared for his latest album as it would rock their world and the entire music industry. “It is not as if I’m boasting but I have dedicated so much of my time and energy to it because I have already set a standard and that standard will not drop but will continue to rise because I am born to sing and entertain people.” Source http://212breakingnews..com/2013/10/african-china-says-he-has-168-children.html?m=1

According to the sources of Saharareporters, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) confirmed that students at various zones of the association would demonstrate against continued closure of universities throughout the country. In Ibadan, Oyo State, the “Zone D” leaders of NANS told the newsmen that it is prepared to demonstrate on October 1st. The students said they would march from the Mokola roundabout in Ibadan, starting from 8 a.m. Also in Lagos, the Joint Campus Committee of NANS Lagos said the students are being mobilized to begin their protest march from the NLC building in Yaba area of Lagos. The students insist that demands of their lecturers are reasonable and must be met by the Nigerian government. It would be recalled that university lecturers, ASUU, have been on strike since 1st of July, 2013 over President Goodluck Jonathan’s government’s failure to honor the agreements signed with them since 2009. The university teachers had vowed that their strike will continue indefinitely will continue until the Federal Government honor 2009 agreements to revitalize the public education.
