I think someone really needs to explain this.
An average Nigerian is an inexperienced driver when it comes to powerful cars & Rear wheel drive cars. Most people are used to Camry and the likes with fwd 4 cylinder less than 170hp or at most the v6 versions with 250hp, fwd has more traction to an extent and your steering wheel is able to direct the traction since it Carry’s the engines torque (Fwd).
Now people are getting to like the Lexus and buying them with no experience, Gs350 , is250 , is350 some of them up to 310horse power to only the Rear wheels, with a light weight vehicle. Now these cars need some sense in acceleration else you’ll turn a 360 or hit the nearest road side kiosk or gutter, down shifting this car without caution on a sandy road or a bend will cause a crash . Don’t forget most Lexus in Nigeria are poorly maintained with abs and vsc lights displaying on the dash (no traction control), all these are recipes for disasters.
Some Buying winter tokunbo tyres and expired tires etc, Many drive drunk too, all these cars being in the wrong hands is the issue.
Power is nothing without control. Many don’t know how to counter steer or save themselves when this car looses control. Once you’re out of traction in a rwd, you will watch your self crashing in slow motion without being able to do anything about it

Assuming cars like mustang and dodge chargers are easily accessible many of this cars would be in collisions daily .

Confirm that the car's exhaust Catalysts are intact, and don't hesitate to summon soldiers on any bagga that messes with those.. After any service or repair work, be careful to observe any change in engine sound and if possible, go under the car and be sure there are no new weldings or attachments.. In fact, warn every mechanic that's to work on your vehicle about your Catalysts

Lastly, try as much as possible to do preventive maintenance on your vehicle and drive carefully because these Nigerian Mechanics are mostly the worst kind.. They will almost always create another problem in your vehicle after solving one.

This is a Nigerian used camry 2GR-FE V6 with 3 huge catalytic converters. If you think it will still have catalyst intact you're a dreamer.

I Prefer moderate front collision to rear, even if you buy booth the back of the car will never fit like follow come, water could be entering the booth, Sweating tail lights, booth not jamming, booth not popping when you pull the latch , unaligned booth light with body light etc.

The vehicle has been delivered to the port and has cleared customs.
It's on load order and will be shipped to Lagos soon.
You just have to hold on a little while, next time buy your cars close to Maryland, new Jersey, New York , etc.
Texas shipping for Sallaum requires patience because most sallaum ships load from Texas first before going to other ports, so before it loads from Texas again it takes time.

I will update if I have any information on the vehicle shipment

I don't think you've been scammed yet, shipping through Freeport Texas is a nightmare, it takes a very long time to clear customs, secondly it takes a long time for it to load most especially if it's a non runner vehicle, I've had cars sit down for months at the port before loading in Texas, Next time avoid Texas port for Sallaum because their loading order is terrible.

Depends on the vehicle.
I got 2.4M for total duty of a 2019 Camry this morning.
Terminal, shipping fees and miscellaneous approx 230k that's like 2.6m total to clear a 2019 Camry.
Which is very very reasonable, and you don't have to worry about short payment or customs disturbing you on the road. On a normal day short payment of this car is 3.5m and normal duty is about 5m
The automated vin value is a very good decision because the value for the vehicles have been reviewed . The problem is with lower cars paying the same duty with 2013 cars, but I guess they are trying to discourage underage vehicles and make people drive newer cars

This is just 5% of the issues and nuisance in the Mile2/apapa region. The unnecessary extortions by area boys, police, customs etc on Tokunbo vehicles on that road is alarming. You’d spend nothing less than 10k on the road driving a Tokunbo car from apapa to Mile2, they will still steal things from your cars in motion.
Police will take their own and leave the area boys to extort you, army self go collect Tokunbo money, anybody with a reflective will mount road block and collect 1k per vehicle.
The whole area needs to be raided with a strong force.

Unfortunately, he’s right. Hyundai Sonata, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Optima etc with the theta 2.0t and the theta 2.4gdi are lemons. A lot failed within and after warranty due to manufacturing process errors. Millions of these vehicles with these engines were recalled.

God Bless for shedding more light. . Only first hand users would be able to tell.

If you have owned or know someone who was unfortunate to get a lemon, too bad but that's the gamble with buying cars irrespective of brand or model.

That car is a lemon. Unless you have a deep pocket.
The sonata is a car that will break your heart no matter how much love and care you give. The American spec engine 2.4L and 2.0T are notorious for premature engine failure.
Weak and crappy suspension. Steering rack etc
The car looks beautiful, classy and cheaper amongst its class.

The hybrid uses an Atkinson cycle platform, block might be the same but the top cylinder is different. Instead of trying to use unconfirmed sense to buy engine, why not by the direct engine hybrid 3mz engine, loosened from the transmission

Before blaming your agent, there's a lot going on at the port, the government has introduced vin valuation, which gives a uniform duty for vehicles with same year and model. This is a good idea by the government but the issue right now is that the value the government has placed on their systems is very high.
As of today it costs between 750- 850k to clear a 2004 Camry .
If this holds you are definitely sending your agent more money
