So my people. I eventually brought the hynudai sonata 2011 into the country in April 22 but the car had the following problems 1. Bad engine 2. Bad radiator and fan 3. Bad fan resistor 4. The catalyst removed. So I just spent over 1 million naira to fix it. The car was taken to my house tonight since April 22nd. My question to those using the car. I noticed that the car is to low so I want to raise it a bit by changing the tyre size from 215 by 60 16 rims to 215 by 65 16 rims. Is it okay and will it go well? Also please share the tyre size yours have to see if I can raise it beyond that. Thanks |

Hey guys. I'm happy finding this thread. I have some issues with my hyundai sonata 2011 1. It's very slow to speed, I mean you can't just hit the throttle and the car will move rather, it will just make sound and go slowly before catching up. It actually move well on motion. 2. The RPM is always on 1 but after moving the car, the rpm will drop to half and the engine oil light will start to show on the dash. As soon as I accelerate, the engine light will go off again. 3. At times, it won't rev at all. Maximum revving will be at 2 RPM but. 4. AC issue, sometimes it work fine, some only flatter it rev the car. Sometimes, it just stop cooling just two weeks after filling the gas. These are the problem I have with the car, the engine is still very powerful and the oil is not short. I used Mobil 1 to service it. It seems I need a someone who knows about the car to help out. Most mechanic in my area don't know about it. I need help guys, I'm in Abeokuta and I will gladly appreciate any help you guys can provide. Call or whatsapp 08137407485 |

Get a scanner or pay a competent mechanic to scan your car. Post the codes that pop up on the scanner on here; I’m pretty sure gurus here would be more than happy to help out. Good luck! Julius444: |

Julius444: Sorry I have not been following the thread but let me see if I can dig a little Julius444: Great, I found your earlier query. The fuel pressure regulator looks like the immediate cause of loss of engine power. Car should currently be in limp mode. The sensor is on the injector rail, looks like it's disconnected. You can reply with engine type and will provide more info 1 Like |

Julius444:Snap the engine of this car pls. I want to see something. Also. Was this engine worked upon or opened before? |
Re: Hyundai owners Discussion by Julius444(m): 6:33am On Jul 11, 2022 |
kingreign: It's this Gdi engine. And yes, the engine was opened before because the rewire insist the car has jumped timing. Upon opening it, we realized the timing is fine. He later suggest it's the sensor that's faulty. |
Re: Hyundai owners Discussion by Julius444(m): 6:36am On Jul 11, 2022 |
GAZZUZZ: It's GDi engine. The rewire removed some sensor testing what might be wrong with it. He's not very sure what the problem is that's why I want a specialist |
Re: Hyundai owners Discussion by kingreign(m): 7:09am On Jul 11, 2022 |
Julius444: When most cars can’t get enough fuel into their combustion chambers, they’ll misfire and lose power. The computer senses this and either retard or advance the timing via the Variable valve timer on the camshaft. Also, I’ve worked on some cars that automatically adjust their VVTI when AF sensors fail to prevent excessive metering of fuel into the combustion chambers. You may want to check that fuel pressure and it’s sensor, then the Oxygen sensor upstream and down stream. 1 Like |
