Two female suicide bombers denoted a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near the busy Monday Market in Maiduguri.

A third suicide bomber was reportedly killed before she could denote bomb.

Abba Aji Kalli, the Borno state co-ordinator of the Civilian-Joint Task Force, said that the two teenage girls dressed in full hijab blew themselves up Tuesday morning, killing at least 30 people.

The attack targeted the popular Monday Market area and the sound of the blast could be heard around the city centre, with thick plumes of black smoke billowing out of the market.


The bomb went off at a place that has huge concentration of people buying and selling.

Witnesses told the journalists the bomb was hidden in a pickup tricycle, popularly known as Jega.

“The blast happened at One-Way road that leads to Bulabulin, adjacent the Monday Market,” trader Sabiu Aliyu said.

According to the Daily Trust about four people were seen with grievous injuries as one of them had one of his legs chopped off while the other three were seriously bleeding. Some residents say on Twitter:

“A powerful bomb exploded at One Way road, adjacent (to) the Monday Market (area) around 11 am (1000 GMT) today,” said a senior police officer, who asked anonymity.

Market trader Usman Babaji told journalists the attacker concealed the bomb in a motorised rickshaw, which are popular throughout the country.

However, while the unrest in the North-eastern region of Nigeria continues, the Nigerian Military chiefs a while ago arrived at the Senate for briefing on state of emergency and the invasion of the national assembly during the week.

Another bomb explosion occurred on Tuesday morning, at the busy Monday Market close to the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) building in Maiduguri, Borno State capital,has left at least 18 people dead with 55 others severely injured.

Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan while speaking in London at the opening of the meeting of Nigeria’s Honorary International Investment Council (HIIC) said the Federal Government is winning the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency.

Yesterday he visited Ndjamena, capital of Chad, yesterday, November 24, 2014, Monday, for another meeting with President Idris Deby Itno over insurgency.

Chaos In Abidjan As Fans Strip Ivory Coast Players After Cameroon Draw
Fans invaded the football field yesterday after pulling down the crossbar.
The fans attempted to strip the players after Ivory Coast 0-0 draw against Cameroon footballers in Abidjan on Wednesday the 19th of November, 2014.
Still unsure if they did it out of excitement or anger because the team qualified for AFCON 2014.
The timely intervention of police officials armed with batons saved the day yesterday.

A suspected car snatcher, Alhaji Kabiru Akorede, who was arrested by Lagos State Police Command, has said he could not count the number of stolen vehicles he has so far sold to people.

42-year-old Akorede, who hails from Ilorin, Kwara State, was nabbed by operatives of the special Anti-Robbery Squad in his residence at NEPA Quarters, Isashi, Lagos.

Akorede allegedly belonged to an eight-man robbery gang, who had gone to Victoria Island in Lagos on 12th September, 2014, and robbed one Mr. Albert Omisore of his Toyota Prado marked, AAA 690 BH.

The vehicle had reportedly been delivered to Moses Ogbu, a gang member, who in turn, gave it to Akorede for sale. He re-fixed the fittings of the vehicle such as the headlights and windscreens.
According to the police, Akorede had been arrested earlier in the year and was still standing trial before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court when he went back into crime. The police added that Akorede was arrested at the point of re-fixing the fittings of a stolen vehicle.

After the gang had been nabbed, Akorede was trailed by SARS operatives. He was subsequently arrested.

Speaking with Punch, Alhaji Akorede, who said he went on a pilgrimage to Mecca in 2010, confessed that he started selling stolen vehicles barely a year ago, he could not recall the number of the vehicles he had sold.

He said, “I was working as a building engineer until 2013. I started receiving stolen cars last year. It was a friend, one Dada, who introduced me to the gang. Since I started with them, I used to sell the stolen vehicles along the Ile Zik area in Lagos.

“I cannot recall the number of the vehicles I collected, but they may not be less than 20. There were about three Toyota Highlander which I sold for N1.2m each. I also got four Toyota Camry, which I sold for N600,000 each.”

Akorede, who is married with two children, said that while the court granted him bail, Ogbu called him that the gang wanted to dispose a Toyota Prado, and the vehicle was brought to his place.

He said, “I decided to work on the vehicle so that I could conveniently resell it. It is true that I changed the fittings. I gave Moses N250,000 for the vehicle. I did this because I desperately needed money.”

The police said he and others would be charged to court soon.

Last week the shocking death story of ex-beauty queen Kessiana Salubi went viral on the net.

Her immediate family members said she passed away in her sleep on Friday the 4th of November after returning from an outing.

Investigation have now revealed that hours before her death, she went on a date with a suspected ghost (Akudaya), a resurrected dead person living in a place far from his/her people.

They said months before her death, she reportedly met the man at one of the new generation banks in Lagos and one thing led to the other, they started seeing each other.

The guy was suppose to come and meet her family one week before her death but sadly she passed on.

They found the guy’s contact number and address from her notebook but on getting there, the family of the guy she went on a date with told them he had passed on.

The unidentified guy reportedly died in a car accident in Ilorin back in 2005 and shockingly, he resurfaced in Lagos again.

All the calls put to his cellular number were never picked.

He recently proposed to her.

Very sad!

Nollywood actress, producer, writer and director, Omoni Oboli, has advised that actors and fans needs to be educated about how kisses are being done in movies so as to erase that perception that some set of people likes kissing in movies.
Omoni while responding to a questions from popular TV programme, ‘Your Views’ monitored by Nigeriafilms.com, about her kissing ability in movies, the actress stated that she does romantic scenes but will never act in explicit movies, adding that she kisses in movies but not tongue kissing.

She explained that there are ways kisses can be done lips to lips without the tongue coming out and it will look like the best kiss in the world.
According to her, “I do romantic scenes and I kiss another man but not tongue kissing and my husband understands that part. This is what people need to learn that you can do that and it will look like the best kiss in the world.”
Speaking on how she has been able to sustain her home along with acting, the actress noted that it’s all about having a good support system in place. She explained that her husband has been very supportive which is why she does not have issues and she has been able to play her role as a wife when necessary.

At the age of 22, Wasiu Kadiru thought he had it all, especially when he won the love of a woman of his dream, Barakat, whom he de­scribed as
the most beautiful gift of God in his life. Little did he know that the passion he had for her would destroy his life in the nearest future.
Trouble started barely a year into their marriage, when he discovered that he was about to lose his wife, Barakat to his best friend, Tunji Bello with whom she had been entan­gled in a secret romance.
Moved by rage caused by a possible loss of his wife to his friend, Wasiu allegedly slaughtered another man simply identified as Segun on the last Eid-el-kabir day (October 4) who he claimed conspired with Tunji to snatch his wife, Barakat.Wasiu in police custody, told Saturday Sun that it was the love that he had for Barakat that made him dead­ly jealous.
“I could not live with the fact that my friend snatched my wife from me. To make matters worse, he would always remind me of my loss. I can’t believe that I am now known and tagged a murderer. In fact, my eyes opened as soon as I stabbed that man,”
Going down memory lane, Wasiu narrated that he met his wife, Barakat in Ikorodu while he was on a visit to the town.
“She is black and very beautiful. She was actually selling recharge cards by the roadside. Pretending I wanted to buy a card, I chatted her up and we became friends. I visited her severally till she agreed to be my friend after six months of wait. The delay in convincing her, made me to fall so much more in love with her. She later got pregnant and I quickly visited her home and paid her bride price.
“All was well till I relocated her to Epe. To make ends meet, I would travel down to Lagos Island to hustle and return by weekend with goodies for my family. I intro­duced Tunji to my wife and he assured that he would take care of her while I was away. I never knew that he had plans.”
According to Wasiu, he found it hard to believe when he started hearing rumours that his friend had taken over his wife who just gave birth
. “I did not believe it but when I confronted her, she confirmed that Tunji was toasting her but denied that they had an affair. Since she was a nursing mother, I thought it was not possible. Days before the Ileya fes­tival (Muslim celebration), I gave my wife N1500 to make her hair and another N1500 to take our child to Ikorodu for treatment. He had rashes and my mother-in-law requested that the baby should be brought to her.

“I was shocked when I called her mother and she told me that Barakat was yet to get to Ikorodu. When she finally picked my call, she claimed that she had gone to see a friend. It was then that I realised that Tunji was not also in town. I don’t need a soothsayer to tell me where she was. When she finally returned a day to Ileya, she said that she was with Tunji. I was heartbroken but my rage took over my soul when Tunji saw me the next day and dared me. He said that he would not only have sex with my wife but will marry her as his second wife. I was mad and tried to control myself from killing him.”
Determined to toe the path of peace, Wa­siu claimed that he reported the matter to the elders of the village but Tunji refused to stay away from his wife.
“It was just a waste of time and energy because the matter became worse”, he added.
On the day of the incident, Wasiu spe­cifically asked God to help him erase the thoughts of Barakat from his mind but he never knew the reverse would be the case.
“I was devastated and my emotions badly hurt. While we were preparing the ram that would be eaten, Tunji came on a bike with one heavily built man. They kept driving past me making jest of me. I had to draw the attention of Baba Ade (his uncle) to their behaviour. He advised me to drag one of them to him, so that he would ask the person what the issues were. I heeded his warning and tried to drag Segun to see Baba Ade. He gave me a sicken­ing blow on the head, it was so painful that I picked up the knife that they used to slaugh­ter the ram and stabbed him. My initial plan was to give him a mark that he would not forget but I mistakenly stabbed him on the neck and he bled profusely. I knew he would die and the community might set me on fire, so I ran into the bush and escaped to Lagos Island”,
When reminded that he might be hanged or sentenced to life imprisonment for mur­der, Wasiu burst into tears and said:
“Tunji has succeeded in taking over my wife, whom I love so much. I am ready to die for the love of my wife. It is unfortunate that I can no longer be there to fight him. I am finished”.
When Saturday Sun visited Eredo community, in Epe Local Government Area where the incident happened, Tunji was seen hanging out with some of his friends during which he was arrested by SARS op­eratives who had been trailing him. He told Saturday Sun that it was not his fault that Barakat chose to start a relationship with him
. “I met her last year and never knew that she was married to my former friend. That time, she was heavily pregnant. She com­plained bitterly that her husband was not tak­ing care of her and her unborn child. I started assisting her before I knew that Wasiu is the husband. When she gave birth, she contin­ued the friendship since I was still giving her money. I don’t know how Wasiu got to know about our affair. The truth is that if Barakat still likes him, she would not come back to me after she had been warned severally.
“I never knew that he would go as far as killing someone because of her. I thank God that I was not close by. It was my dear friend, Segun that was killed. He decided to kill him because he thought that I was making mock­ery of him.”
When asked where Barakat was, Tunji alleged that he relocated her to Ijebu Ode where he rented a room apartment for her
. “Ijebu Ode is close by and I normally go there to work. I kept her there for her own good since her husband will be sent to jail for the rest of his life.”

Sighs) Is there ever an ideal man? I think he’s just someone who understands me because I think that understanding is very key. He is someone with a very high level of understanding, intelligence and tolerance.

With this business of mine, it takes someone who is very patient because some guys would say: “You took a picture and the guy was holding you this way and that…” It’s crazy and it actually takes someone who understands, believes and trusts me totally. That is my definition of an ideal man. He doesn’t need to have all the money in the world. It’s very natural for girls to tell you that they want tall, dark and handsome guys.

But sometimes, it doesn’t work that way. I used to be like that back in the secondary school. My friends and I used to read a lot of Mills and Boons, so we had that idea of some tall, dark and handsome guys. But as you grow older, you understand that it doesn’t work that way. A 35-year-old man, Andrew Ekanem, has been arrested by the police for allegedly raping his neighbour’s daughter in the Bariga area of Lagos State.
The 14-year-old victim was still undergoing a six-month treatment for tuberculosis when she was attacked by the suspect on Monday morning.


The mother of the victim, Mrs. Adenike Aderinkomi, a trader, told Punch that her daughter went to ease herself in the early hours of the morning when she was cornered by the Cross River State indigene.
She claimed the suspect penetrated her daughter through the anus and vagina.
It was around 2am on Monday when my daughter woke up and said she wanted to go and ease herself.I was having my quiet time and didn’t know when I slept off. I woke up about 15 minutes later and didn’t see her in the room.I woke her father up and he said he didn’t know her whereabouts. We both became anxious and went outside to search for her.
“Another neighbour also joined us in the search.”
She said she was shouting her daughter’s name in the backyard, but did not get any response.Aderinkomi said about 10 minutes later, her husband saw their daughter coming out of Ekanem’s room.


Her mother said she pulled her away from the growing crowd of neighbours and pressed her to talk.
“My daughter became afraid. She then told me that while she was on her way to ease herself, Ekanem grabbed her and took her inside his room to sleep with her. She said while I was shouting her name, he covered her mouth.
“People seized him and wanted to beat him up. But I had to quickly report the matter to the police very early in the morning so people would not take the law into their hands,”
A police source told our correspondent that investigation revealed the suspect was fond of the act and usually induced his victims with money.
, “That was not his first time of doing such a thing. This particular girl, he had slept with her about three times. He was always giving her money ranging from N200 to N500.
“But this time, he was caught red-handed and that was why the girl’s parents are insisting on taking him to court. When he was queried, he didn’t give any reason for his behaviour. He’s just fond of sleeping with little girls.”
“She sustained bruises in her anus and vagina (as a result of) sexual assault.”
Our correspondent was told that the victim had been taken to an undisclosed orthodox church for “prayers and deliverance”

On the day of the incident, Wasiu spe­cifically asked God to help him erase the thoughts of Barakat from his mind but he never knew the reverse would be the case.

“I was devastated and my emotions badly hurt. While we were preparing the ram that would be eaten, Tunji came on a bike with one heavily built man. They kept driving past me making jest of me. I had to draw the attention of Baba Ade (his uncle) to their behaviour. He advised me to drag one of them to him, so that he would ask the person what the issues were. I heeded his warning and tried to drag Segun to see Baba Ade. He gave me a sicken­ing blow on the head, it was so painful that I picked up the knife that they used to slaugh­ter the ram and stabbed him. My initial plan was to give him a mark that he would not forget but I mistakenly stabbed him on the neck and he bled profusely. I knew he would die and the community might set me on fire, so I ran into the bush and escaped to Lagos Island”,

When reminded that he might be hanged or sentenced to life imprisonment for mur­der, Wasiu burst into tears and said:

“Tunji has succeeded in taking over my wife, whom I love so much. I am ready to die for the love of my wife. It is unfortunate that I can no longer be there to fight him. I am finished”.

When Saturday Sun visited Eredo community, in Epe Local Government Area where the incident happened, Tunji was seen hanging out with some of his friends during which he was arrested by SARS op­eratives who had been trailing him. He told Saturday Sun that it was not his fault that Barakat chose to start a relationship with him

. “I met her last year and never knew that she was married to my former friend. That time, she was heavily pregnant. She com­plained bitterly that her husband was not tak­ing care of her and her unborn child. I started assisting her before I knew that Wasiu is the husband. When she gave birth, she contin­ued the friendship since I was still giving her money. I don’t know how Wasiu got to know about our affair. The truth is that if Barakat still likes him, she would not come back to me after she had been warned severally.
“I never knew that he would go as far as killing someone because of her. I thank God that I was not close by. It was my dear friend, Segun that was killed. He decided to kill him because he thought that I was making mock­ery of him.”

When asked where Barakat was, Tunji alleged that he relocated her to Ijebu Ode where he rented a room apartment for her

. “Ijebu Ode is close by and I normally go there to work. I kept her there for her own good since her husband will be sent to jail for the rest of his life.”

What a man can do, a woman can do better, even stealing too? *covers face*! The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is finally set to arraigned Mrs. Imaobong Akon Esu-Nte, the Abuja big girl who is Head of Capital Accounts Unit of the Nigerian Prison Service.

She will be arraigned before a Federal Capital Territory High Court (21), Apo, on Friday November 14, 2014 on charges bordering on massive stealing of public funds and money laundering.

Esu- Nte, was first arrested by the anti-graft agency in May, following suspicious lodgments of about N200million into her accounts. The suspect is a grade level 14 civil servant.
