In an incredible incident, a woman had the shock of her life when she witnessed a body emerging alive from a grave.
The woman, was at a cemetery in the suburb of Ferraz de Vasconcelos, Sao Paulo, was reportedly going to visit a family tomb when she experienced this scary phenomenon as the man was trying to emerge from the grave and was waving his arms around.
She describes the experience:
‘I was terrified to see a man, who I thought was dead, trying to get out of the grave.’
‘He had his head and hands out and was moving his arms around, trying to get out.’
The woman first ran away screaming, but returned and called the emergency services, who found the man half buried in a plot of earth.

[size=15pt][color=navy]W[/color][/size]hen Aishat Farooq gained admission into the University of Ilorin at 15, to study Zoology, little did she know that she was not going to be an alumnus of the institution. That was in 2003.

Despite the fact that she was a high flyer in her first two years in UNILORIN, the now 25-year-old indigene of Ilorin West-Local Government Area of Kwara State got distracted along the line. She played the campus love game and got a shocking result: she got pregnant.

It was in 2006 and in her third year. She was pregnant for a fellow student whom she had been dating. She was disappointed in herself and thought the whole world was crashing on her.  Yet, she vowed not to terminate the pregnancy.

Although she wanted to continue her studies in the university,  she became disillusioned and dropped out at 18. She sought consolation in trading.

But her father, Mr. Shehu Farooq, who believed that his daughter’s academic prowess should not be wasted,  was determined to get her back on the academic track.

Today, Aishat has a different story to tell. On Saturday, she stood tall among her peers at the 5th convocation ceremony of Bells University, Ota, Ogun State,  where she emerged the overall best graduating student with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.93.

“The rebel in me won,” she declared while giving the valedictory address on behalf of the 208 graduating students of the university.

Asked if she was involved in any relationship at the Bells, she explained that she was a popular “snob” on campus because the majority of male students were younger than her. Besides, she did not want to get distracted or disappoint her parents and herself again.

She said she has no plans for marriage for now. She wants to pursue a master’s degree programme in Human Resources in the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. She added that she also plans to work in a corporate environment to garner experience and afterwards go back to the university to teach “as a way of giving back.”

The second child in a family of eight children, Aishat brought her six-year-old son, Damilola, to the convocation. It was, however, learnt that the Edo State-born father of the boy has since got married to another woman.

Nigerian Police: Now Armed Wing of PDP
The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) hereby registers its dismay that for the second weekend in a row, officers of the Nigeria Police illegally stormed and disrupted a meeting by seven governors and other Nigerians going about their constitutionally guaranteed rights of association.

The police action is not only alarming but also demonstrates clearly that the force, instead of carrying out its constitutional responsibilities of maintaining peace and order in the society has become no more than the armed wing of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Coming barely a week after storming the Adamawa State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja to disrupt a lawful meeting of like-minded individuals, and despite public outcry at the tactics of the police, the Force, in clear violation of all rules of civility still went ahead to disrupt a G7 caucus meeting at the Kano State Governor’s Lodge on the 3rd November, 2013, in Asokoro, Abuja.

If the Nigeria Police has not become the armed wing of the PDP, why should the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Asokoro Police Unit, CSP NnannaAma, burst into the venue and order the meeting stopped, threatening to mobilize troops to abort it if his order was not obeyed?

For a DPO to have the impudence to force his way into the meeting of perceived opponents of President Goodluck Jonathan to disrupt meeting of governors and members of the Senate and the House of Representatives that were duly elected by Nigerians, and also threaten them with arrest can only indicate that the orders must have come from the Presidency. But for the police to carry out what is evidently an illegal order reflects a new low in the history of the Nigerian police.

The PGF hereby condemns in totality the antics of the Nigeria police in breaking up peaceful meetings and harassing Nigerians, while also calling for a probe into the PDP – Nigeria Police relations. Is the police established and paid to serve all Nigerians or merely to serve the interests of the PDP? If the police have become the armed wing of the PDP, then what differentiates it from the terror tactics of those who seek to violently impose their political beliefs on others?

The PGF salutes the resilience, tenacity and patriotic commitments of the G7 Governors and all leaders of the New PDP calls on them to continue the fight to rescue Nigeria from the grip of a tiny clique that has cornered the political space in Nigeria and now regards the rights and commonwealth of Nigerians as disposable in their desperation to continue in office despite growing unrest in the polity occasioned by PDP’s politics of poverty exclusion. We wish to emphatically restate our resolve to join hands ad work with our colleagues in G7 and New PDP to ensure that the current regressive trend towards authoritarianism, increasing poverty, unemployment and incompetent leadership is arrested.

The PGF also restates its position that another four years of the PDP and the current administration will spell doom for Nigeria and its over 170 million people, thus our determination to rescue Nigeria and provide security and prosperity for Nigerians.

A 47 year old man from Brazil has been found living with the skeleton of his best friend who died 13 years ago.
Fabio Beraldo Rigol moved in to the cemetry after going broke and being abandoned by his family over his drug addiction.
The former broker only leaves to go into Santa Isabel, Brazil, to ask for food. He claims he found himself penniless and homeless after his business folded and he started using drugs .

He said: “I’m more afraid of the living than the dead. I’ve never seen a ghost. It gets a bit quiet here sometimes, but I’m not a big talker, so it suits me. I’m not very good around living people.
“I had to leave the house, and I ended up wandering the streets. One night it was raining hard. I don’t remember how, but when I woke up I was here in the graveyard.”
On most days he leaves the graveyard to ask for food in the town centre.
He said: “When it’s raining I stay inside. I never want for anything. When I need people there is always someone who gives it to me. God never lets me go hungry.”
But Mr Rigol said he doesn’t intend to stay in the cemetery until his own time comes.
He added: “I want to get out of here alive. I still want to have my own house, even if it’s just a bedroom and a bathroom. I want to go back to work if there’s a chance. My live hasn’t finished yet.”

Anambra State University, Uli has been named after late biafran leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, announced the renaming of the University in a live broadcast on Anambra Broadcasting Service Television ABStv on Friday November 1st. The governor said the university was being renamed in celebration of Ojukwu'sposthumous 80th birthday.

The former military governor of the Eastern Region of Nigeria died on November 26, 2011, aged 78.\

PHOTO: Six Naval Officers Beat Teacher to Stupor in OgunA terrible accident happened at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Onikoko, Adigbe area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital in the early hours of October 30, 2013, Wednesday, when six naval rating officers pounced on one of the civilian teachers in the school and beat him to stupor over a minor argument between them.
The victim, Rasheed Ibrahim (pictured), could have been killed by the naval officers without the quick intervention of the Commandant.
Ibrahim, a Senior Food and Nutrition teacher in the school since 1998, was ordered rushed by the Commandant first to the School sickbay for first aid treatment from where he was transferred to the FMC, Abeokuta.
According to P.M. News, the trouble started following an argument between the victim and one of the rating officers identified as Aliyu. This later snowballed into some commotion in the school premises.
“I saw them arguing, the argument dragged for a short time, I felt that it was a minor argument, so I did not intervene,” an eyewitness told the reporters.
“It happened around 7.15 a.m. At that time I saw Aliyu trying to drag Mr. Ibrahim out of his car and he succeeded. Another officer, Oyerinde, later instructed Aliyu to beat him up. That was how the whole issue started. In the process, another Senior Officer, Shodiya, came out from his vehicle and joined them, while other rating officers pounced on him to the extent that they used their thick belts on him until it got tore into pieces. All my attempts and that of others to pacify them were rebuffed.
“This was not the first time it will happen, this is the sixth time in two years that civilians working in the School here have been brutalised and nothing has been done”, the eyewitness explained.
When P.M. News tried to contact the Commandant of the School, Commodore M A Olatunji, on the phone to comment on the incident, he neither confirmed nor denied it, but declined to give further comments, saying he need to get clearance from the authority before he could make a statement.

Ogun Okada Riders Go Violent in Court, 25 ArrestedMembers of rival factions of the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association (ACOMORAN) engaged in a violent clash that left several persons injured in Abeokuta on October 30, 2013, Wednesday.
Two factions of the commercial motorcyclists, a.k.a. Okada riders, clashed at the premises of the Federal High Court, Abeokuta, where they were engaged in a legal battle this day.
Scores of civil servants and innocent bystanders in the area fled in different directions to escape the violence as the feuding ACOMORAN members freely used dangerous weapons, including guns, machetes and other missiles against one another.
Sporadic gunshots allegedly fired by the rival ACOMORAN members were said to have attracted the attention of the state military anti-crime outfit, Operation MESA, the police, operatives of the State Security Service and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
According to the Punch, the crux of the matter was a suit filed by the former Secretary of the association, Lateef Yekini, challenging his alleged detention sometime ago by the ACOMORAN Chairman, Alhaji Shamsudeen Apelogun.
The Apelogun group had accused the former secretary of embezzling the association’s funds totaling about N1m and subsequently invited the police to investigate the matter.
A free-for-all, however, ensued among the members of the two factions in the court premises shortly after the case was adjourned till December 3.

Nigerian female billionaire and oil tycoon, Folorunsho Alakija is now the richest black woman in the world with an estimated fortune of $7.3 billion, beating the likes of Oprah Winfrey to the enviable position.

In 1993, her company, Famfa Oil, was awarded an oil prospecting license, which later became OML 127, one of the country’s most prolific oil blocks, by former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida.

The company owned a 60% stake in the block until 2000 when the Nigerian government unconstitutionally in a controversial manner acquired 50% interest without duly compensating Alakija or Famda Oil.

In May 2012, Alakija, a married mother-of-four, challenged the acquisition and the Nigerian Supreme Court reinstated the 50 per cent stake to her company.

Since then, she has been making millions every day.

A Chinese woman has been arrested after forcing her boyfriend to kneel in the street and repeatedly slapping him around the face.
The assault happened last Friday in the Kowloon City area of Hong Kong, after Chui, the boyfriend, took a girl to his flat despite the fact he was going out with Cheng, the slapper.

Cheng got to find out and made her boyfriend kneel on the pavement in full view of passers-by.
When he insisted he had not asked the girl to come to his flat, saying: 'Listen to me first before beating me', Cheng started slapping Chui across the face as he screamed, 'You're slandering me!', and urged the other girl to corroborate his story.

A crowd of onlookers gathered and started filming the scene, which has since been posted on YouTube.
As other bystanders started to intervene in the love quarrel, Cheng shouted, 'None of your business!'

Most witnesses took Chui's side, with one woman telling him: 'Stand up, ditch this ugly girl, you deserve better.'
One passer-by called the police, leading to Cheng's arrest.

In an application he filed before Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, Sokoto, who is answering to a two-count terrorism charge, urged the court to award the money to him as exemplary and general damages against the Federal Government over alleged torture and beatings he suffered in the hands of operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS.
He made the application shortly after his team of lawyers, led by Mr. Sheriff Okoh, urged the trial court to discharge and acquit the accused person for want of incriminating evidence linking him to the Boko Haram Islamic sect.
It was the contention of the alleged Boko Haram kingpin that the government failed to establish a prima-facie terrorism charge capable of warranting his conviction.

Comedian Julius Agwu and his wife, Ibiere, welcomed a baby boy today October 7th. Ibiere gave birth to the little bundle of joy in a hospital in the US. The new addition to the family has been named Zadok Chibuike Julius Agwu. Julius and Ibiere already have a 4 year old daughter, Zahra Agwu. Congrats to them.

The richest man in Africa Aliko Dangote is set to build the world's best 1000-bed capacity hospital in Kano via his Dangote Foundation. The 1,000 bed capacity ultramodern medical theatre complex will be constructed within the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano and will cost N2billion to build. It has been named Mariya Sanusi Dantata.

The hospital would comprise of a diagnostic laboratory, 10 operating theatres, 3 intensive care units, patients’ wards and administrative/service rooms for doctors and nurses. On Tuesday October 1st Aliko Dangote explained why he's building the hospital...
“It is not just about building a best in class medical facility in Kano state, it is about fulfilling our commitment to sustainably improving the health and well-being of Nigerians. We believe that every Nigerian has a right to quality healthcare, we also believe that it is our collective duty to rally our resources to improve health infrastructure, support the development of health care professionals and improve preventive health measures in Nigeria,"
