I just saw this picture of Wike and Obi Cubana and it got me thinking again of what could have been if Ikwere didn't start denying their Igbo identity.

So if you don't want to end up in one obscure mediocre university that their degree certificate to most employers, is not worth more than the paper it was printed upon , face your studies and leave Nairaland. Any news that is very important to you, will reach you even if you are not online. Avoid Nigerian newspapers too! Nigerian newspapers are filled with negativity that can steal your inner strength to overcome challenges. They believe that negative news sells more so they don't care if they mess up your head. They are only interested in the profit they make selling only bad news.

Government is not perfect but hey!, some people are making it big in this same Nigeria. Where these negative folks see problems, foreigners and a few Nigerians see opportunity and make huge returns from the solution they provide. Join the league of such people with a positive mindset. Well, that issue of having only Fulani emirs ruling over the North is quite unfortunate. They made it impossible for a Hausa man to rule over our lands, as all the emirs are now Fulanis. I don't know how they managed to make it that only Fulanis can rule over Kano now.... When in actual fact, that stool was hitherto occupied by the Hausas, being a Hausa town.

However, the Constitution has made them submissive to the Government of the day, hence a sitting Governor can effect a great change that weakens their authority. That is why to a large extent, I'm happy with the balkanisation of the Kano emirate.

But with that infamous post-War abandoned property policy and the egregious institutional injustices in boundary adjustments and the widespread anti-Igbo gerrymandering, Igbos physically and psychologically lost their vested ancestral lands, all to the point of not caring anymore about their historical contiguity to the Atlantic, which their ancestors beheld and called the ‘Great Sea’. The psychological beat-down got so bad that some of the descendants of these Igbo ancestors (nearest to the Atlantic and now lying outside Southeast) are no longer sure whether they are Igbo or not.

The worst injustice was In 1976 when the Justice Nasir Boundary Adjustment Commission made a serious and targeted agenda of carving out core Igboland territories into some neighboring States of the South-South. But they didn’t quite make an absolute success of it. They missed the southernmost Southeast lands that possess Rivers that meandered through slices of Igbo-friendly South-South territories and ended up at the Atlantic, thus unwittingly placing Igboland and its right of access to the sea under the canons of customary international law.

POTENTIAL SEAPORTS IN ALAIGBO: ALL ARE CLOSER TO ATLANTIC OCEAN THAN OTHER SEAPORTS IN NIGERIA.

With reference to the seaports outside the present South East and without equivocating non of them was of less nautical miles than those in the south east which were abandoned. In lay man’s understanding a nautical mile is about 1.8 kilometers.

To be sure, Ikwerre land or Igweocha which bears the greater portions of the Portharcourt seaport was dredged up to 50 nautical miles to the Atlantic front through the Bonny River. Onne seaport was dredged up to 60 nautical Miles to the Atlantic and Calabar seaport was dredged 45 nautical miles to the Atlantic. Ibaka seaport is about 30 nautical miles to the Atlantic and the Lagos seaports was dredged up to about 50 nautical miles to the Atlantic.

NOW CHECK IN ALAIGBO (SOUTH EAST)

A. Azumiri (blue River) in Abia State, which is a large and deep body of water is 30 nautical miles to Atlantic Ocean ( strategically located for a seaport, connecting Rivers State, Akwaibom State, and Abia State)

B. Obeaku- Ndoki River Is 25 nautical miles to Atlantic Ocean and is another potential seaport waiting for our use.

C. Oseakwa (River Ulasi) Ihiala Anambra State that is linked to Osemoto Oguta River Imo State Is only 18 nautical miles to Atlantic Ocean with 20m deep without dredging. Do you know that Ulasi is the deepest River in Nigeria, (Strategically located connecting Anambra Imo, Delta, Beyelsa and Enugu)

Yoruba people since the days of Awolowo has tried to divide igbos because of geographical location and how igbos will be much bigger than Yoruba nation
And votes will count during elections

It was Awolowo idea to Gowon to create 12 states and cut off igbo land putting up administrators in rivers

Yoruba elderly human knows the history but has twisted it into Yoruba narratives to suit themselves

The primary aim of Awolowo is avoid situation where the whole old eastern region is not igbo speaking

Same aim he went to Hausa land and started doing his yorubatic moves .. trying to break Hausa tribes so that Hausa language won’t be North general language

as an igbo man I don't think breaking this country is realistic. Nigeria got most of its revenue from offshore oil fields. no reasonable person or region will ever forfeit such massive resources to other region.
what can work perfectly well here is restructuring. the offshore resources shares by component regions that make up Nigeria. other resources will be managed by region its domiciled

As I’ve continually stated, those clamouring for the return to regions are superimposing their political ideas on reality and mistaking this for what the people want. Given the opportunity many would rather more states in order to express their ethnic interest within Nigeria than much of the other propositions such as regionalism or break-up. For me, devolving of powers at the centre means empowering as much of the grassroots as possible, which means more states and local authorities not less. Those that believe many so-called minority tribes will settle for anything less than thire own nation, if Nigeria break up, have another thing coming. Many of us are willing to work on the Nigeria what we have now to make it work but if you're going to break this up, claiming that it was a mistake and unworkable, we are not going to want to go into a second similar relation ship, we would rather find our own paths. It is all or nothing.
