Just picked up my passport from Sagamu office

Capture date: July 5th
Pick Up: August 2nd

Booklet type: 10yrs, 64 pages
Process: DIY

All I can say is that Sagamu is DIY friendly and you will most likely get your passport within the stipulated 6 weeks buttt.... They will reschedule your capture date regardless of the one you get online so you can estimate like 2 months or 3 sef for the whole process.

Your passport is ready.

I'm confused and getting worried here. Team DIY, captured 2nd June. It's still showing no record found when I track it! I don't stay where I captured. What should I do?

There are still dates online for this July but even if you register and pick date for tomorrow you will capture next month. They usually reschedule at their office unless you argue and drag the matter with them like someone I saw here did with them. Not sure if his passport is out tho.

I don't even know if I should be happy or sad.

Remember few months ago when i wrote about my sister whose study visa application was complicated.

Background:
She had gotten admission to complete one year high school (grade 12) in Canada for fall of 2021. Submitted application for study visa in May with upfront medical.

School refused to defer the admission because of her age and refunded tuition to us.

On October received first correspondence letter talking about BVL validity. Since she had lost the admission, we didn't bother and just continued with life.

WAEC result was released and she did very well, that initiated the travel process again but this time to a university.

Current situation:
First, requested for GCMS note, which revealed application was approved since Oct 1st 2021 (remember the BVL) but PPR was never sent. She wrote and passed IELTS, applied and got admission to a University and that was when I came here.

A webform was raised to update LOA with IRCC. There was no acknowledgement email or request for additional documents. Then a mail was sent to MP who came back to reiterate similar information (eligibility and background was completed, application was approved but no request letter was issued). He then said an agent will work on it and get back to us.

Then came PPR.

State of things now:
How do we know if approval is for new institution or the high school?

Can she still travel with the new approval considering it's coming a year after (high school admission was suppose to be from September 2021 - June 2022)

Please kindly help elaborate or give clarity. Thank you.

My sister applied for a student visa in may 2021 as a high school student but she lost the admission because the visa was not granted by the schools resumption time so we all didnt stress over the application but kept checking for any updates since she was already in ss3 and doing her waec. After waec results were released in December we immediately applied into memorial university in Canada which she has gotten an admission into now but because she already had a previous visa application in progress we wanted to confirm the status of that application so that we'll know if we are to send an updated letter of acceptance or withdraw the old application and restart a new one as it has been almost a year with no response.

So we request for a GCMS note which was received today just for it to show that she has been granted visa since October first 2021 with no mail received. We are confused on the next step to take now. All advice given will be appreciated.

NB: No agent was used throughout this application process... it was all done ourselves.

No I wasn't told to pay 6k admin fee but I was told to pay 10k to send to abuja for approval. Now Im doubting that one too sef. Abeg what is the helpline?I want to go there prepared.

As soon as you get approval, I advise you book an appointment online and insist on capturing at your due date

Don’t forget to use the helpline. It works. Don’t believe anything they tell you, always call to confirm from the help desk, that’s what I did. They will answer you sharp sharp

Hi I am also capturing at the Sagamu office sometime next month... I went there yesterday to capture but because I have the case of missing passport I was told it has to be sent to Abuja for approval so I couldn't capture yesterday. Abeg how did you run your own to be able to capture today because I also noticed that they we're telling people that the capture date online does not matter blah blah that they have to reschedule them. I just dey look sey mi o ti raye tiyin let my approval land first we go dey drag that one.

QUICK UPDATE: I finally did my capturing (biometrics) after all the back and forth

Registered last week, submitted yesterday after all their shenanigans. DIY is not easy but it’s definitely worth it!

Collection date is showing 16th May , which is five days from today. How feasible is that

Anyways I’m on my way back to my city. ain’t coming here for at least another four weeks unless I get a call

P.S I stood my ground and didn’t pay shishi to any officer or admin fee. 100% DIY

made some new friends too

1. How do I confirm if my NIN has been validated?
2. Is appointment slip the same as acknowledgement slip?
3. Can my mum be my guarantor?
4. Do I need to notorize my police report and application letter?
5. Is there a standard format for the application letter or can it be written as I see fit?

yes I have seen a list of documents there but I will like to know if there are any other documents that will be needed because of how these officials like to waste DIY peoples time.. e.g in the list of documents I saw, there was no NIN nut as I have been following this thread, Ive seen that NIN is very important .

Good evening, I also plan on renewing my passport (lost).

Good evening everyone. I have some issue regarding my passport renewal lost.

DIY do it yourself route

1. My first appointment date was March and NIN issue happened and I later got to know that I needed someone inside to submit my document which will send to Abuja for approval.

2. I reschedule my appointment to April which I went there to submit my document and getting there, I met their oga which I paid 17k and documentation was 2k.

3. They (the documentation guys) changed my appointment to on the 3rd May again which was holiday and when I was crosschecking my document and went to their website, I saw its been rescheduled to 18th May. Well 18th May was too far for me and I had to reschedule to 4th May I saw was vacant on their websites.

4. The website approved 4th May but that's the last appointment day I can change. Considering the fact that we've change appointments date up to 4 times.

So my questions are:

A. If on the 4th May is holiday, considering my last appintmented option, will I be able to capture next day?

B. Will there be any penalty for me cos 4th of May is the last option for appointment.

C. Will I be able to capture on the 5th without appointment?

D. Or I have to start the whole process again?

Hopefully your visa gets approved before your conference date but if not you should leave this application and it will most likely be approved before the june edition and you can use it then... You can just ask for a new invitation from the organizers if you miss this edition for reference if you want to travel by june

I applied for a visa to attend a conference scheduled to hold between 20 and 24 of next month .
I submitted my application on 29/11/2021, biometrics was done on 10/12/2021. No response from them since and the conference is less than one month.
Can I still reapply using the new portal considering the time frame ? Or should I just get a new invitation from the organizers for the June edition ? If yes can I still submit the same documents e.g bank statements ..

Nope it didnt state anything about taking a leave, just her type of employment and how much she is being paid and she has multiple travel history to the US.

Please your sister that got letter of introduction from her employer, did the letter state what date she will be taking her leave? Also is this their first travel history and first visa attempt.

Also attach work documents like your appointment letter and payslips to show source of funds or business docs if you're running a business

Application submission: Feb 26th
Biometric letter: Feb. 27th
Capturing: March 3rd
BVL: March 10th
Passport request: March 10th.

I used the new link. I have no travel history. I used my two accounts to show POF. I have a married citizen brother who invited me. I will be there for the easther holiday.


So my question, can I deliver my passport in person at the Lagos office? I used them for the biometrics

Yes you can change institution before the approval of a study permit by informing IRCC via webform and also attaching the new letter of acceptance.

My sister just got into uni this year(100lvl) and she wants to apply for a visit visa so as usual we asked the school for a letter of introduction but they refused to give one because she is still in her first year. What I will like to know is if her school admission letter as well as Jamb admission letter will suffice as a relationship with the school because that is what we intend to use to show her ties back home. Family application of 4. (Applied for family members, a father and 3kids).
Purpose: family reunification to join mother and daughter who are international students.

Application date: GC Key - Nov 27, 2021
Biometrics: Nov 29, 2021 (only father & oldest child, other two children are below 10yrs). After 14days and no feedback I decided to try the new portal.
Re-application on New Portal: Dec 13, 2021
(After 14days and no feedback I started sending scattered emails now and then, afterwards I noticed eligibility began.

Then nothing again for one month, so I started sending emails again (now consistently morning and night to IRCC Nairobi, from early Feb for about two weeks).

Feb 25: BVL
Mar 1: PPR for all 4 of them ( 4days after Bvl).

IRCC likes us to disturb them with emails, lol. Sometimes it’s what propels them to look into your application.

no wahala, but make sure that where u will quarantine is thesame as the place they will send ur day 2 n 8 covid test kit to

Goodday, the adress I filled in my application is going to be different from my quarantine adress..... hope it wont cause issues at the POE.

1. u will do covid test in 9ja 72Hrs b4 depature and present ur -ve report
2. u will pay £210 for day 2 n 8 test to be done in Uk, the invoice number will be needed on ur passanger locator form.

(NB: ur day 2 n day 8 covid test kits will be sent to ur host address u filled b4 ur arrival so dt u carry out d test and send to them, ive done mine and result sent to my email)

3. u will then do another covid test 96hours b4 leaving UK, upload ur report on ncdc website and make payment for another covid test to be done in 9ja after 7 days of arrival.


without nos 1 and 2 above, they wont allow u board in nigeria and trust me if u find ur way around and board, d flight career will be fined and trust me u no fit scale through UK border POE, those guys r not smiling, they will detect and deport sharp sharp
