Good morning to everyone and a happy new month, i just discovered a christian college through the cic page but to my suprise i was told by the school(college) that i can apply and get their admission letter without paying a dime, they dont charge for applicantion fee , only security deposit for accomodation is to be paid which is CAD$150 but i went further asking them that i do not plan for thier accomodation, so they replied that i shouldnt pay the security deposit of $150.
According to them, the tuition fee can be paid when i arrive the school in canada

now my question is, how will the canadian embassy see my issue when i apply to them for study visa. will the school be a red flag or will my admission process be seen as a red flag.

the school offers a 3 yr bsc program , diploma and cert program
do i stand a chance in getting thier visa if i go through such admission process.

pLease i need your advice

thanks to everyone
You can apply for TRV without paying a dime! Just make sure you apply early enough! Please can you state the name of the college.

Hello guys, please advice me on this..., I have requested my bank" Ecobank" to make bank transfer to my school in Canada for my tuition. I filled the form A and signed some other document.its been 8 working days now and the bank is yet to make the payment. I kept calling the bank and i was told that im on a queue that it wil soon get to my turn. I'm worried that is taking too long. I'm thinking of trying another bank or should i keep waiting.....pls your advice

I will advise you hold on with the Ecobank. That's the new problem Nigeria is face making internatinal payment! They have to source for dollar from central bank. If you try another bank you might be lucky or end up staying on another fresh queue for days! My gf transfer took 3weeks with sterling bank, and she was told just 2 working days. While mine with access bank was just 3days transaction. Lol

Thanks. However, I called IOM this morning and was told since I got the mail that it means I already have an IMM number or so and they will need that, they also said If I should come for it without that it means they will have to generate another for me which will not tally with the one with my app. They asked me to wait till Monday for response from CIC and if no response then I can come for the medical since it has a run time. And 5days already gone out of 14days. To be on a safer side.

Sorry did you check your junk mail and every other mail in your box. Someone got his form in junk mail sometimes ago. Peace

Hello house! Final got admission to Fanshawe college. Pratical element of mechanical engineering for jan resumption. I Want to pay first semester fee but due to restriction on Nigeria master card of minimum of 1000usd daily I haven't been able to pay!
Please is there any other alternative apart from bank transfer?
Please is it necessary to apply for gmcs file before second application or I should just go ahead and apply?
How do I go about sop as this is my 2nd application?
Reasons for first denial in August humber college
1) family ties in Canada and home country
2) purpose of visits
3) traveling history
4) personal assets and financial status

Tackling all this boosting my fixed deposit to 1.3m from 500k with a improved salary account from 800k to like 1m
I also change the 3years diploma to 1year post graduate certificate
Also a lawyer / governor attestation on my land worth 1m

As for family ties I'm lost there cos my immediate elder bro travelled to Canada from Nigeria in May on a visit and left in June! I added his traveling doc in the first application

Main sponsor was elder bro with balance of 220kcad n mom with balance of 26kcad
Plus leave letter from office to recieve 70% of monthly salary for the years of study.

I just need straight advise please

Thank you

some contributors and i have been like town criers in the market square saying repeatedly and advised applicants that if you know you have completed a 4-year degree program do not even touch an advanced diploma program (2 years or 3 years) with a pole even though some peeps have been fortunate to get approval for it, most VOs do not see it as academic progression from a BSc which when translated to CIC english means refusal for purpose of visit. So if you want to take that chance the decision is entirely yours to make. A postgraduate program or Masters + relevant documents will certainly increase your chances of success.

Well lesson learnt! Wasn't awear of that till later, I'm trying to package the next one to the best, how do I tackle family ties in candana and home country? Please

^^^ I'm in no way an expert but here is my humble advice.
@oppytexu Do away with that 3-year sham course.
You will need a very tight SOP explaing why you finished uni at that age, explain the school issues and why you haven't had much work experience. Your SOP needs to address your study gap which will in turn explain why you have that balance in your SOA (It's not so low but they obviously expected more). Use your family members here, asset and study leave to your advantage (even though they won't buy it cos you've worked there for just a year. Let your cousin/boss explain how indispensable you are to the company in a reference letter). Package well and ask the elders here for help doing that. Good luck
Ok thanks so much, I will see to that!
Like how many pages can my sop be cos I was careful of not more than one page the last time

The point is that Travel History is the least of your worries.
IMO, Purpose of Visit means they do not beleive you're actually going to study or they just are not even comfortable with your course at all to begin with so you need to find out why and fix that first. Does your program of study reflect academic progession in the same field as your UG?
As for the others, how old are you? Are you married? Do you have a good job here and do you have a study leave letter (depending on how long you have worked there)? Depending plon your age, they may feel like you dont have enough assets and finances. Did you write a good SOP?
Give details that can enable people here help you out
Well I'm not married! I graduated in 2014 sept by my certificate but being working since March due to school issues! I studied mechanical engineering here and I was going for advance diploma in mechanical engineering a 3 years program but now I'm thinking of changing to element in mechanical engineering a graduate certificate program for one year . I have only work for one year plus but I have a study leave letter with certain percentage of pay for the years absence. I'm 28yrs old! The company I work with is a owned by a cousin dou it's not stated in the sop. Sop was about my life and pAssion for change in Nigeria and sponsor by my brother and mom(family).

Bros, your major reasons for denial are everthing else other than Travel History

Please can you explain the everything else? I understand travel history, personal asest which I have a land worth of 1m and salary account worth 800k plus fixed deposit of 500k.
I still understand purpose of visit due to length of the visit.
Then family ties in Candan and home country is what I'm worried about coz My immediate elder bro traveled to canada in May and left in June for conference with all travelled doc included in my doc. Please help ooo

Hello house please I need urgent response from many @thesoj and others. Was thinking about centennial fast track diploma until today when I saw a graduate certificate program in Fanshawe college for Jan.for practical element of mechanical engineering, please note that I'm a graduate of mechanical engineering and I work with an engineering firm. I was refused on 17th of August dues to 4 things which I posted earlier!

I planning to put in new application against jan asap as Humber doesn't have jan intake for the course I applied for till September!
Is it true that Fanshawe college only take 500cad as tuition deposite. I need response ooooo

Hello house! I posted about my refusal the last time. Attached below are the VO reason for refusal and sincerely I can't really picture the real reason except for travel history... Also I attached the list of documents submitted! Just need guidelines applying to another school for winter on Monday! Please I need advise on how to tackle the reasons Thanks

Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by oppytexu: 9:27am On Aug 18, 2015
thesoj:
Make sure your new admission is for a PGD or Graduate Certificate (assuming you are a BSc holder in a similar course). Using a diploma or advanced diploma admission for TRV application is risky, regardless of if it is a fast-track or accelerated program; this is because these two diplomas are considered lower than a bachelor's degree, and it seems some VOs are lazy to sieve through the nuances of accelerated/fastrack programs.
Thanks thesoj. The new one I'm looking at is in centennial college and its a graduate fast track certificate for one year. It that fine before I send the application cos 95cad no be beans ooo

New applications are treated as new! You can apply to another school, it doesn't mean a thing! But pls evaluate the reasons for ur refusal well....if possible let us know ur profile, perhaps the elders can help u....while we younger folks say little we know, to avoid another refusal!

Thanks so much ... I will state the reason once I get the package from vfs office.

Hello house! I have been a silent follow of this great Trend for awhile... Submitted my first application on 25th June in lagos, I got a mail today that the application has been sent back to lagos without medical mail, we all know what that means. My question now is I plan to refire for January 2016 but my course isn't available at my school for January intake. I plan to apply to another school same mechanical engineering related course. Does that have any implication on my recent application? And also a one year fast track course instead of long 3years diploma. Please I need response house. Thanks
