Thermostat stuck open, or no mechanical Thermostat

1. Car reaches operating temperature normally and thermostat works well.

However, on cold days on the highway, the temperature drops down to 1/4 of the scale.

On hot days, it is not so.

Question; is the thermostat faulty?

Or can we say that the cold air is so cold that it removed so much heat as soon as the thermostat opens normally to allow fluids into the radiator?

2. Radiator cap issues.

Honda reccommends 1.1 bar but I use 0.9 bar.

Difference is 13psi for 0.9 and 15psi for 1.1 bar.

I don't have issues.

Is this fine? Or should I revert?

My engine warms up quickly and reach the operating temperature on idle.

However, when driving on highway on cold days, the temperature level drops halfway down.

It does this once in a while especially when it is very Cold.

I suspect the thermostat.
