A Nigerian immigrant stole the identities of 350 people to claim £1.3million in bogus tax credits in the largest benefit scam of its kind.

Olaide Taiwo, 35, hijacked the identities while working as a security guard for a number of large national companies.

He then used the names to claim tens of thousands in working tax credits.

This week he was jailed for eight and a half years – the highest ever sentence for tax credit fraud.

Taiwo is understood to have arrived illegally in Britain in 2003 with his wife. Although three applications to stay in the UK failed, in 2005 he was granted discretionary leave to remain.

It was during this period that his scam began. The father-of-two submitted more than 300 fraudulent tax credit claims between June 2004 and July 2008 worth over £1million.

For me it was in JSS3 that I realized that my old man was way flat beyond broke. As a matter of fact, he'd been broke for close to 4 years but my mum played a role that I'd forever salute her for. Not once ever did I ever heard them argue over money even when unknown to we kids had been footing the bills for years. I know because that was the year I got my first job fetching sand from the Ilaje river in Bariga. We were at what you'd call "breaking point". I took ma cross since JSS 3 and boy oh boy, its been a j our ne y.      All in all, God has been faithful.

We are working on a Wiki and need volunteers to start pages, editors to fix typos, add photos, correct inaccuracies, and patrol recent changes.

As per the "don't put out" issue, you don't have to blame us o. For a girl's that has been around, with lets say 10 guys by age 25, it will be next to impossible to convince her new man that it's during his "tenure in office" that she wants to enact the new law of celibacy. next thing on an average 9ja guy's mind is: eh eh. @iice: Even if i were under the influence of cocaine, I'd never include the incidence of her molestation. To force a grown up woman against her will even if you were married to her, to me, is a crime worth a prison sentence, nonetheless abusing a child sexually. Also, i do not think it was as a result of the abuse that she got pregnant.

Folks are getting it all wrong because of our perception of dating in 9ja. Theirs a huge difference between hooking-up and dating. Hooking up has got nothing to do with emotions, but dating does. If Oprah had been hooking up with the married man, she would not have got on her kneels to beg him to leave his wife for her. She wanted, at that time, to share her future with him.

Now, why would the simple question: How many men would have average 9ja babe would have dated and allowed entry by the age of 25 trigger such fury

We've just started a wiki (wikimantic.com) and need folks knowledgeable with Wikipedia's editing syntax amongst other things.

Wikimantic is basically a gossip wiki; a collaborative effort to build the single largest celebrity romantic open book. Each celebrity having a single page detailing past relationships, hook ups and cheating scandals etc as well as present relationship status.

& i wud assume you hardly get terribly bored

A friend just started a wiki, http://www.wikimantic.com, to create the largest celebrities romantic history. "We all know celebrities dating rumors and break ups spark interest." He told me; "Now imagine having a wiki editable by everyone to list in chronological order relationships of individual celebrities, from high school sweethearts to cheating scandals, hot hook ups etc of celebrities from all over the world"

I as well think its a great idea, but then, I'm his closest pal and since the above brief is just a minute aspect of what he hopes to accomplish with the website, I'm putting it out to esteem Nairalanders.

But then again, would you run into a church to correct a pastor preaching to the congregation all because you overheard from the speakers those things you perceive to be outright lie? Just like i told my good NL colleague @LagosShia; Topics like one that started this thread, posted in a board not meant for Muslims is a direct insult to Christianity and time and time as proven over time that the only kind of scars such things leave behind is more bitterness and eventual strike back. Unfortunately, Christians are able to stomach your insults but most Muslims seem not to have that gene in them. From you name, I can deduce you're certainly a Nigerian and the last time i checked our mother tongue is no where close to Arabic. But my dear friend, I lived almost a year and half once in an Islamic country where their core language is Arabic, the very language the Quran is written in. With that experience, i find it rib cracking when I meet any Muslim who did "Wolimo" yet still has to wait on the interpretation of each line in the Quran.

Its was like when we recited french in primary school. we could sing a whole song in french and yet have no understanding of what each line meant. Does that makes me French? Just so you know, Arab Muslims who have a prefect understanding of the Quran will never argue with a Christian. They are too wise and know its to their own detriment. Their deep hatred for Israel and United States though, they will never hide. Its this deep hatred they have for the Western world that makes most of them, who have no understanding of Islam, willingly to blow themselves up.

If a Christian should start pulling a sword, as you guys do each time a muslim points out erroneously from the Bible, do you think there will be one day light of peace.

I stated before that I think it would be best for Muslims to post in the Islam for Muslims board and Christians to do likewise, but you two seem to not want to say anything about that. In this year alone,  has there ever been a time when Christians have issued a threat, attacked or killed a Muslim all because such Muslim expresses an opinion on Christianity. Even Seun Osawa, the guy who claims openly to neither be a Christian or a Muslim was threatened by a Nigerian Muslim that a "Fatwa" would be issued on him should he allow Christians (forgetting that not every one that isn't a Muslim is a Christian) keeps discussing controversial Islamic related threads.

My point is; Muslims are quick to tell us that the Bible is littered with lies and peddle insults at Christ and the interpretation of an Holy Book. Yet, they are quick to take offense when people that are not of Islamic faith express their interpretation of the Quran and history. If a Muslim calls Christ a liar, why can't I as well go ahead and called Muhammad a worshiper of the Moon. Not everyone of us though, believes in killing fire with fire.

Let the likes of Ahmad Deedat keep interpreting my faith as they deem it fit to their understanding, I won't even blush. However, are they also willing to stomach my interpretation and opinion of the Quran and Islam WITHOUT THREATS AND ATTACKS

Why do the likes of Ahmad Deedat even need to consult to Bible in the first place? Oh! that it's a book filled with lies? I learnt in business school that you can never win a client by soiling the good name of a competitor, but by showing all you have to offer. Ahmad and likes reference from the Bible, but let one Christian do such and Muslims will protest bitterly and even do much worse.

In October, armed Muslims entered a Church in Iraq killing innocent armless people including kids. You should have seen a clip of the news coverage, the list is endless and their reason, because someone somewhere made a statement about Muhammad and the religion of Islam, yet there are people like Ahmad, which you seem to have high regards for, who continue to express what they think about Christianity. I maintain, as I did in my first post, that I'm not here to express what i think of the content of these thread but think that the fellow who started the thread should have posted it in the Islam for Muslim board. Period!!! Let Muslims post in the Islamic for Muslims board and let Christians post in the board allocated them. Their are over 4,000 threads in the Islam for Muslim board and that should take a handful time to read, reply and follow. With the thousands of threads in both the Christians board and Islam for Muslim board, people that are not of either faith should stick to appropriate boards. What sanity lies in digging through the Islamic for Muslim board by someone like me that is a Christian if I do not already have the intent of attacking anyone expressing an opinion contrary to mine.

Believe you me, after reading both your replies, i did try scanning through the religious section (not that many pages though) and I could find one heading with "Any Muslims Who Converted To Christainity?" and how people were giving their reasons for converting to Christianity and read replies by Muslims including that of yours "Sweetnecta".

NL has done what was supposed to make the whole thing simple and that is by creating a unique child board for ", Muslims to share their faith, " and leaving Christians to post on the same board with free thinkers and Satanists(you should here what a free thinker has to say about religion to start with). Maybe if NL could only make provision for separate other Child Boards for Christians and others, we wouldn't all keep stepping on each others toes.

Also, maybe the gentle man ought to have posted the "Conversion, " thread in the Islam for Muslims child board and not on a floor where many Christians abound. Just maybe no Christians would have read it and none of the insulting words exchanged on this thread would never have had a reason to come to be. Clearly, he must have known such a post will ignite a fire within many Christians not mainly for the title but because of how he structured the content. People who live in a glass house should not throw stones. It might as well have been an unintentional error on his part again.

Likewise, should a Christian post things on the Child Board made available to them (& hopefully Seun does something and create a separate Child board for we Christians) no one of Muslim faith would peddle into the Child Board and in that way would not get offended by anything shared on the board. A dirt the eye does not see, the mind does not reason upon.

Friends, certainly you know these but I'd like to remind you that it's an impossible task to think people will not always have a thing to say about us, our character and our being. Wikileaks revealing the US diplomatic cables painted US diplomacy as tinted, but in the real world, every institution has an opinion of others. Can one sincerely say the Chinese or Russia have not discussed or painted many US officers with much more cruel words within themselves? If they are as plain as snow with the United States, why was a Russian female spy caught recently in the USA. Or why does China keeps trying to hack into the US security system using private companies, ?

How does this relay with the thread you may ask: Christians will always have an opinion just as would Muslims and a free thinker and satanist would, and expressing ourselves is something humans can't do without. However, like someone pointed out in another thread, this is where Civil Decorum should be applied. Let Christians post on a board allocated them without the interference of people of other religions and beliefs and vice versa.

Back in 2008, Seun Osewa wrote why anyone who posted anything about Islam could get banned. What I'd like to understand is the primary purpose of the story " Conversion  Of Pastor Jonnathan Into Islam".

How would you guys have reacted if a christian had written this piece with the title " Conversion of Sheik Hammed to Christianity" and went on to quote verses from the Quran.

Because we all belief in what we believe in, pointing out "alleged" errors in other peoples sacred scripts would only draw fire-backs. Why not spend more time in reading a sacred book you belief rather than wasting your precious time on what you don't belief in only for the purpose of drawing out "alleged" flaws. Remember, gone are the days when the Quran was written plainly in Arabic.

I'm a Christian and don't even have enough time in my hands to read the Bible as much as i would love to and i wont even spend the little time i have going through the Quran all because I want to come to NL and make gist of the religion of Islam with my fellow Christian brothers. It's not just worth the sweat. History has proved time and time again that you can never win people over using such a strategy. Posting about what you've read in the Quran and how applicable it is to everyday life may convince people to want to know more about Islam and probably convert to the religion of Islam but not in this way.

What you call an idol to another might be the only true God that such person acknowledges. Here you are expressing your opinion of the Jewish God and to a Jewish, that may as well be offensive. This is exactly what the woman whose case started this thread has done. Expressing an opinion. Now, are we not all at fault. Humans are structured to have opinions, just as we do the five senses of the human body. Civil decorum applies that you don't pass out 'gas' when your in an elevator, that you don't throw the napkin down on the dinner table and tell your host to his/her face that you've tasted the worst meal ever. That same civil decorum, applies that no matter how much low you think of another person's God, keep it to yourself because what goes around comes around.
