Hajia-Amina-Zakari-INEC-National-Commissioner

The appointment of Mrs Amina Zakari as acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is a reward for her highly partisan loyalty to the President Muhammadu Buhari presidential ambition while serving as INEC National Electoral Commissioner.

Zakari is a daughter of the Emir of Kazaure Alhaji Najib Adamu of Jigawa State who is a blood relation of the Buharis of Daura in Katsina State.

A very reliable source in INEC told Nigerian Times that Zakari who is a proven blood relative of the President was Buhari’s eye in the commission and was always reporting the activities of the former INEC chairman, Prof. Atahiru Jega to the campaign organisation.

Nigerian Times also learnt that she was a staff of Afri Projects Consortium headed by Buhari’s late inlaw, Salihijo Ahmad between 1999 to 2001 as a Senior Consultant/Chief Pharmacist. The company was a major consultant to the defunct Petroleum Trust Fund when Buhari headed the organisation.

Recall that Buhari called for the sack Jega-led INEC accusing it of having developed “a very cozy relationship with Executive and Judicial arms of government that its impartiality is totally lost”.

The source which pleaded anonymity said she was never a voice of moderation but that of partisanship in the commission.

Her appointment, Nigerian Times learnt was recommended by members of Buhari’s inner circle. They include Mohammed Hayatudeen, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Babagana Kingibe and Hamidu Ali.

However, this group believed that Nigerians will accept her as a good choice since she is a woman but in essence her appointment is meant to protect the interests of the All Progressive Congress during post-election judicial processes, the source alleged.

PDP spokesperson, Olisa Metuh also corroborated the source when he said Wednesday during a press briefing that “Zakari as acting chairman which, we gathered was influenced by personal relationship with the Presidency and one of the new governors of the North West, ostensibly to pave the way for the APC at the electoral tribunals, has completely eroded public trust in the commission.”

Zakari who is a widow and mother of five superintended over the general elections in Kebbi State. She is from Jigawa state and holds a degree in pharmacy.

She was appointed a National Commissioner of INEC in 2010.

Prior to his becoming the president, buhari was "touted" as the best alternative to "clueless" jonathan.... few weeks in we are seeing similarities in both men and Apc and the supporters are ptaising him for it.... first it was the wristwatch reportedly worth 10million naira by the wife and so many other frantic lapses from the duara man. Jonathan was blame for virtually everythingthat went wrong in the country even wen there was too much sun it was Jonathan's cluelessness. Now with all dis tanker accidents are we right to call it buhari's faults? I remember wen they said he has only one house but its been reported recently that a mansion in asokoro belongs to the lanky president.... now anoda photo has just surfaced of his Aide carrying his bag....I remember they said he carries his bag.... wtf happened? There is nothing I'll say to add this that hasn't already been said!!! The point is I understand the OP predicament... The truth is we need to understand what this marriages stand for!!! Getting a document is not a bad idea, just that I think we shud make our trad marriage the "in thing" so that even documents can me signed and sealed on that day!!! Let's get back to our roots. I get so frustrated when people choose white wedding over traditional marriages as if they are "whites"? Inferiority complex or lack of understanding has truly scarred us!!!! Like the FTC dude said, when will the whites leaving in their countries celebrate our traditional marriage with their wedding? Think about it

Nairaland / General / Cameroun's Propaganda War Against Boko Haram And Nigeria...just pathetic by Orokita(m): 8:09am On Sep 24, 2014
The Camerounian Army Is A Very Shameless Organisation.

I don't know if anybody had noticed this trend by Camerounian army.

Boko Haram has always been a Nigerian problem; for many years, the Nigerian government had complained that Boko Haram uses Camerounian territory to launch attacks on Nigeria. A top Nigerian diplomat even described Cameroun as the weak link in our cross-border terror war.

All of a sudden, Cameroun 'woke up' and began what looked like a stepping up of attacks against Boko Haram. Unfortunately, all Cameroun did was wage a propaganda war against Boko Haram aimed SOLELY at embarassing Nigeria.

Every other week,we are innundated with ficticious news that Cameroun had just killed multitudes of Boko Haram members. Never for once has Cameroun showed pictures of the hundreds of insurgents they claimed to have killed. All Cameroun did was rely on 'self-hating Nigerians' to rebroadcast such fake news and castigate their own Nigerian army.

Unknown to most Nigerians, Cameroun has a very weak army with combined personnel of less than 15 thousand. Cameroun relies on France for everything. In Camerounian towns like Yaounde and Douala, bottled water, beef and bread consumed by their middle class is imported from France.

Boko Haram many times humiliated Cameroun by openly kidnaping government officials (or their wives), Chinese workers and tourists. When this happens, Cameroun's government pays a ransome to free these captives, only to issue statements that they've killed insurgents and rescued victims-with no evidence.

Cameroun, weeks back went as far as reporting that some 480 Nigerian soldiers (tactically retreating from battle) had fled and defected into Cameroun. As expected, some 'self-hating' Nigerians ran with the news. Where are those 480 Nigerian soldiers today? Have they applied for assylum in Cameroun? No, these brave soldiers rejoined their team in Nigeria and they are now, part and parcel of the patriotic crew currently dealing with Boko Haram.

Just recently some Camerounian official took to the social media to claim they had just killed Shekau in a cross-border raid. Hours ago, they posted pictures of the alleged dead Shekau, PICTURES that had already circulated in Nigeria since Friday night.

The Camerounian official(s) were so dumb not to realize that 1. Konduga is no where near the Camerounian border 2.The Nigeria military had since paraded some of Shekau's favourite weapons including an APC plus pictures of other dead insurgents. 3. Why are some Boko Haram fighters surrendering to the Nigerian army and not the Camerounian army?

While we commend our armed forces thus far, we urge them not to relent as the name 'Abubakar Shekau' is more of a myth than an individual. Another Shekau can resurface tomorrow; the real battle is against the doctrine of Boko Haram and all those that have subscribed to it.

God bless Nigeria.
Crime / Re: Kidnappers Beaten To Near Death By Angry Mob In Calabar [viewers Discretion] by Orokita(m): 3:49pm On Sep 23, 2014
eleojo23: It wasn't stated anywhere that they were confirmed kidnappers.
There is so much violence/ hate flowing in the blood of many.

Even if they were really kidnappers, did they have to be beaten to near-death? Couldn't they have been subdued and handed over to the authorities?
This practice of people always taking laws into their hands is the height of crudeness. And to think that this was carried out within the environs of an academic community, one begins to wonder what they are really learning.

Yes, we should frown at evil but there are better ways to do it than acting like barbarians.
Sorry pls are you a kidnapper
