Anyone lucky with getting dates in Abuja? |
Iriase1:Okay thank you. |
Hello guys, do anyone know if dates will be available at Abuja embassy? |
Hello, is there anyone that still has their application on pre-approval stage since November 2024 and if there is how can we get our money back since the avits visa system is all screwed up? I applied for my sister last November but her application has been on the pre-approval stage since then. I have emailed them several times, created multiple tickets but nothing has been done. I just want to know how I can pass this. |
Hello, is there anyone who paid the visa fee in November 2024 and still haven’t passed the pre-approval stage for Lagos? I am still experiencing difficulties with my sister application because she is still in the pre-approval stage since November 20th. I have sent the consulate emails and raised multiple tickets but to no avail nothing has changed. It’s so disheartening that things can be this rough on the AVITS website and this people don’t care about fixing the problem. |
joan12:Create a ticket with them and let them know the problem you are going through. Don’t forget to include your DS-160 confirmation number on the ticket and upload a screenshot of the "Invalid DS-160 number" They should be able to resolve it for you. I don’t know why the website has been trash and giving people different problems. From one problem to another. |
vanessa9973:Thank you for this. I will give it a shot. |
osadestiny:Please anyone knows anything about this? |
Hello do anyone know how long it takes before Lagos pre-approval request is approved? It’s been almost a week now since I request for it but still haven’t been approved so I can proceed in booking a date. |
Ihomon:I think this problem has to do with the current DS 160 application numbers. Because I am experiencing the same thing for an application I was filling. But whenever I type in the old Ds-160 number for a previously refused application it worked. I don’t know why the new ds-160 number kept saying "not valid" |
Chemist4life:Do anyone know the problem associated with this on the appointment website? I am also experiencing the same thing. |
Hello guys. Has anyone come across this problem on the appointment website. I am trying to apply for a date for someone but it keeps telling me that the DS-160 confirmation number is Invalid even if I am entering the right one. But it would accept the old DS-160 number which I cannot use for a previously refused visa. I also know someone who is experiencing the same issue entering his DS-160 confirmation number on the website. It just kept saying "Invalid DS-160 number” please anyone with ideas share or if you have experienced this before. Thank you. |
OyoTunjiUSA:Thank you. |
chidiakwari:There was a time late last year and early this year applicants weren’t allowed to go in with their bank statements. The officers who were checking applicants documents were the one stopping people from going in with their SOA. I had 3 friends who experienced that. I don’t know why they did that because it hasn’t been a thing for many years now. That’s why I am still asking if maybe anyone has experienced that recently. I’m asking for a relative. |
Hello guys, I wanted to quickly ask. Do you know if the U.S embassy still allow bank statements for SOA. Because I heard one time they weren’t allowing applicants to bring that anymore. |
mcvities:I appreciate the explanation, I will look into it. 😄 |
OyoTunjiUSA:Thank you for that. |
OyoTunjiUSA:Hello, please I wanted to book appointment date for my sister in Abuja. The earliest date I am seeing there is in October. She is planning to go for fall semester. I needed a closer date. I thought since it’s her first application, I will be able to get one closer. I wanted to ask what are the latest ways of getting earlier dates for new applicants. I don’t know if maybe I should book the October date and later request for emergency appointments if that is still working. Please update me on the latest on how I can easily get a closer date. Thank you. |

Pamelayoung:You don’t present any proof of funds at the port of entry except you are been ask by the CBP to do so which is not always common. But you shouldn’t carry more than 10,000 USD cash in hand while traveling into the United States. |
Owenuneed:I was really surprised it worked for me. I applied through the normal process. After securing a regular appointment stating previously denied. I then applied for an emergency appointment. |
lifeofgolden1:Thank you so much brother. I’m grateful. |
Damite2ky:I was really surprised it turns out this way. It was only God. |
I want to say I am really glad and i don’t know how to express my joy. Because what God can not do does not exist. God has helped me and I am really thankful to Akeem Ajao, for always encouraging me and being by my side. I am indeed grateful for my fairheart. For all of the advice he has given me, I was not worried again after receiving all of this advices and counsels. Now I know even if we had made mistakes in the past, there is still a way to correct this mistakes, we should never be frustrated or try to give up because of this. I know I already shared my transcripts on my first, second and third interview. I will be sharing the fourth one today. The VO that interviewed me in Abuja today was the same VO that interviewed me during my 3rd attempt. Just a month ago after I was denied. Visa approved Visa approved Abuja embassy 28th June 2021. Fourth attempt. VO: pass me your documents, he was kind of typing in his system. He said sorry hold on. Me: with boldness I was not really smiling at all. I said here is my documents. There is no problem you can continue doing what you are doing. VO: checked my passport, so he said what did you went to do in the Democratic republic of Congo. Me: I went to the DRC for a missionary service, which I did for my church for two years. This service is required for every male member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint from the age of 18-25. Because of this service I was able to go to Kenya, Ghana and Togo. I then handle over my missionary photos and my missionary certificate for prove of the service. VO: don’t worry I believe you. With a smile. So I see you are going to Missouri. Me: yes I will be going to Missouri state university for my bachelor’s degree in chemistry and I am going to be concentrating on biochemistry. VO: he checked his system and then he said how come so soon you reapplied again and how did you got this date seeing that there are no available dates? Me: I found out that I don’t need to give up on my dreams, so after being denied on that last day. I went straight forward to purchase another mrv fee and then started my application again. So I had to request for emergency appointment. Because I came to find out that student going for f1 visas are been granted emergency request. So I had to do mine and I was given this date. VO: nodded his head and then he said that’s fine. I see you have a scholarship of $5,000 how are you going to be paying the remaining fees. Me: my parents have always been sponsoring my activities and they were the one who sponsored my missionary program and they will be paying for my education. VO: okay what do they do? Me: for my dad he works in a micro finance bank and he also has an automobile business in my home city whereby he deals on used Nigeria vehicles and my mom she is a pharmacist. VO: okay so what will you do with this degree? Me: first of all after the completion of this degree with the amount of knowledge I am going to acquire in this field. I will be able to pursue a career someday in becoming a biomedical scientist. Because i love to know how our plants and animals can resist diseases, droughts and other afflictions. I will then be able to carried out biological and laboratory test on tissue fluids so that clinicians can be able to diagnose and treat diseases in plants and animals. VO: he kept on typing and typing for like 1 minute. He added my passport to the others and said I will be keeping your passport and I will be returning this i-20 to you, you need this at the point of entry. He thé gave me the white paper. Me: I was like really surprise and I said thank you sir. God bless you. VO: don’t worry you are good to go, just prepare your travel and always maintain COVID19 guidelines to always stay safe. I left and I was really happy and was kind of confuse because it looked like a dream to me. I am really thankful to God and I can’t really express my joy. |
osadestiny:Did we remember this? |
Davidkking:Thank you very much sir, I really appreciate. I am praying for the best. |
Proposed interview transcripts VO: pass me your documents Me: here they are VO: why are you going to the US? Me: I am going to the US for my bachelor’s degree in chemistry and I will be concentrating on biochemistry at Missouri State University. VO: how did you hear about this school? Me: during when I was on my missionary program I learnt about this school through one of my missionary colleagues. VO: how many schools did you applied to and how many admits? Me: three schools and two admits VO: name them Me: Idaho state university, Missouri state university and Bowling green state university. ISU and Missouri state university gave me admission and I am still waiting for BGSU. VO: why did you choose Missouri state university? Me: Apart from the fact that this school gave me a scholarship, I chose Missouri state university because it is the school that fits my study interest and I came to find out upon my research that it offers my course in a large varieties. VO: so what will this degree do for you? Me: I know that upon completion of this degree I will be able to pursue a career in becoming a biomedical scientist someday. I have always been passionate and interested about the well-being of our plants, animals and micro organisms. I know that a knowledge in this field is going to help me make a lot of positive changes in the society and I will be able to carry out biological and laboratory test on tissue fluids so that clinicians over here can be able to diagnose and treat diseases in plants and animals. VO: who is sponsoring your education? Me: I was given a partial scholarship from the school and my parents has always been sponsoring my activities, they sponsored me during my missionary program and they will be paying for my education. VO: have you traveled outside Nigeria before? Me: yes I have. I was in Kenya, Congo and Ghana during my missionary service. Please help me check my proposed transcript, my interview is on Monday at abuja embassy. God bless you all. |
fairheart:Thank you so much for replying, I have already reapplied again and I am going for my interview on the 28th of June that is a week from now. Please I just need guidelines on what to do this time around, I need your directions please. I wanted to explain to the VO in the next interview that my father has two things that he is doing, stating the first one I used in the first interview and then state the other one together with it. I don't actually know the problem why I was denied the first time because there was sufficient amount of money in my Father's bank statement and this time around I was given a partial tuition waiver from my new school and I had $20k as the deficits. I am going for undergraduate degree and my school told me there is no funding available for undergraduate studies , i don't know where to get full funding. Talking about answering the questions that was been asked about my school , course and reason for choosing them, I played my role very well in answering all of that. I know all of your contributions will be resourceful to me this time around when I go to the embassy. I just need it please. |
Slim4Rehani:Okay, after my high school I went for a missionary program in my church which I did for two years. For my father's occupation I will be stating the both work at the same time. Being that he works with a microfinance bank and he is into the sales of vehicles in the city. |
Pefuele:Thank you very much, I think this idea is going to be great, I really appreciate and secondly I didn't change anything in my ds-160 except. What if may be this time around when the VO ask me who is sponsoring me. I answer by saying it's my parents. So that I can state the occupation of the both of them this time. But I am bringing my Father's bank statement to the interview even if I was not ask in the last two interview I did in abuja. |
LONG POST AHEAD!! Hello all, a very happy Fathers day to all the fathers in the house and a happy Sunday to all of us. Please I would love to say I am going for my interview on the 28th of June in abuja, this is going to be my 4th time. I have been refused 3 times now, once in Lagos consulate and two times in abuja embassy. I am praying for the lord to help me this time around because I have made some errors in the past. First interview in Lagos 31st of December 2020 Vo: how old are you? Note: Undergraduate studies Me: I am 22. Vo: how come at the age of 22 you were able to travel to Congo, Kenya and Ghana for a missionary work? Me: yes after my high school I went for a missionary service for my church which I did for two years. Vo: okay I see, so were you paid during this missionary work? Me: no it was a voluntary missionary service. Vo: where are you going to? Me: I am going to xxxy for my xxxx Vo: why this school and what will the degree do for you? Me: I explained as I was directed to the extent that the Vo continue nodding his head. Vo: so how will you be paying for your studies, my COA was $34,000 Me: meanwhile in the place where it was stated who will be paying for the trip in my ds-160, I went to put self sponsor thinking it was just only the flight ticket. I told the Vo that my father will be my sponsor. Vo: what does he do Me: he works in a microfinance bank Vo: did he gave you any of his financial documents? Me: yes he did, handed his bank statement Vo: he went through it and then said is this the same bank your dad works with? Me: I never expected that question because I knew that microfinance bank was different from other banks so the Vo was thinking it was a regular bank, I told him No that this not the bank he works with. Vo: he then asked me his position in the work Me: I told him Vo: he typed for so long, I was thinking I would be granted then he handed the blue paper that I am not eligible for this visa. I dropped my transcript, some people told me I wouldn't have used microfinance as the occupation of my father, I then deferred to the fall semester and reapplied again in abuja. Second attempt in Abuja. Vo: have you traveled outside Nigeria before Me: yes, I have been to Kenya, Congo and Ghana for a missionary service Vo: who is sponsoring your studies and what is the occupation of your sponsor Me: my dad, I told the vo that my dad is into sales of vehicles, which I didn't mention in the first interview Vo: he immediately checked my i-20, he glanced through it, I am sure he checked my COA of $34,000 then he just gave me back my documents that I am not eligible. Third attempt still in abuja ( this time around I used a different school, for this very school I had a tuition waiver of $5,000 and the deficit was $20,000 going for undergraduate ( Vo: I see you have a scholarship, well that's good. So where are you going to Me: I am going to xxxxy for my xxxxy Vo: how did you hear about this school Me: from a colleague during my missionary service Vo: who is sponsoring you and what does your sponsor do? Me: I still repeated what I said in the second interview that my dad is the sponsor and he is into the sales of vehicles in my city. Vo: typed for so long then handled the green paper. He said I am so sorry but you are still not eligible for this visa at this time. I gathered myself again and then I reapplied gotten a date now and it going to be on the 28th of June that is 8 days from now. I know I changed the occupation of my father when I was asked in the second and third attempt of my interview. But this was because of what people told me about microfinance workers that it wouldn't convince the Vo enough so that was the reason I had to use the sales of vehicles, my dad does that too but that is not his primary occupation. I know the first Vo recorded the occupation I said in the first interview but I don't know if may is because of this that i was denied and I am going for the 4th time, my deficit is not too big compared to the one I used in the first interview. This very one is $20k. Please I need you to advice me on what to do in next interview on Monday the 28th of junr regarding my sponsor. Please your contributions will really help me, it took me a lot of courage for me to continue this journey I almost gave up. Please I need all of your help on this. @fairheart, Twoods and the rest of you all |
