@ OKX - thanks g. yh i had exactly the same opinion but didnt want to sound like a 'know it all' and also, the people seem to appreciate the quality so i just kept that to myself.
about my logo. . .the 'one' in the circle was actually meant to look like the hands of a clock (one time - get it?). i also positioned the text above in a way that would look balanced and symmetrical.like you said, it all comes down to client specs but in a place where they just come and drop their requests, theres not much to work with and they seem to like what they see so. . . . only problem i had with it was the format. . .png aint the best quality nd u noted that 2.
im having a hard time with illustrator so i just exported to photoshop nd did my thin.

thanks for the input.
Art, Graphics & Video / Re: Flyer Design by osasp(m): 1:12pm On Apr 25, 2011
pros ;

nice concept

cons;

the font could be different
too many shaped and colours flying up and down
i can tell you squashed those mice. . .wrong, it makes your work look unprofessional
u used a mix of warm and cool colours in an unbalanced way
unnecessary use of effects like the white to red gradient on the 'pest free'.
finally, that yellow misty thin doesn't look right for the mood (calm, rest, sleep - get the drift) sum desaturation and soft masking would do

suggestion

it all comes down to what you have really
photoshop is easily the industry standard for stuff like this
if that's what you have or can have then ur good to go.

before you start each project, draw out a mind map where you think of a choice of colours and put down words that come to mind with the mood o the project, all these things should be discussed with your client of course. then you will find that your idea for composition will be more balanced and in tune with the project.

check online for tutorials on masking techniques and try bookmarking some inspirational sites where you can go to to soak up ideas (not copy - although theres a thin line between).

conclusion

most importantly, your approach is the most important as it makes you or breaks you, if ur really interested in it ill hook you up with things that will help your workflow (that's me assuming you are doing for a profession. . .right?). oh and all that stuff above is all based on personal opinion and can be thrown out the window , that's just me speaking from experience but if the client is happy with your design then its all gd.

cheers

oh and if the skin colour interferes, make a rough selection with the lasso around the area you want to work on before selecting colour range, that way, photoshop knows you are only focusing on a specific area, arrghh carpal tunnel,

^^ I'm not really big on typing but I'm sure ugo can carry on or explain in detail what i mean. . .select colour range, feather, delete selection(white area) burn edges (of the fur with a soft brush and reduced opacity to remove white 'ghost'). enjoy

i dint think i helped there but if anybody understands please explain.

ROSSIKE:

You catch a man rigging, kill him.

It's a very Nigerian solution.

But it could lead to problems. Parties losing in this or that district could concoct a 'rigging' scenario as an excuse to cause mayhem and disrupt/void the polls.

Another problem of course is that ALL PARTIES RIG.

The opposition would be mistaken in thinking the directive to ''kill'' riggers doesn't apply to them and their party when they are ''caught''.

See where this is heading?

It's heading to a disrupted polls caused by violence and killings across polling centers.

I think Oshiomhole should be arrested for inciting the public to violence, and jeopardizing the peaceful conduct of the general elections.

hmm i see what you mean but nonetheless, if everybody comes out with a more active approach, this rigging thing would reduce drastically

obviously its not her but it sure as hell is funny. its a free world man, i dont care if its the president's wife. this people have been exposed to power for so long and it never occured to them to at least get her a coach or something?, i would make a thousand more pages if it were me. i don't feel sorry for them, not one bit. imagine the disgrace we will face from the outside world when this woman gets to a bigger platform. the wife of the president of nigeria, phuckin disgrace
Politics / Re: "if They Rig, We'll Kill Them There-adams Oshiomole by osasp(m): 8:54pm On Mar 10, 2011
about high phuckin' time. when will we open our eyes to see that this is the only way the country will move forward. the constitution is not being respected by all and can be easily manipulated, but with such an approach, no body would dare.

i say although its a very crude way of thinking, in my opinion, this is the only way we will progress as a country. when the law is no longer respected, we have to create another check and balance system that will keep things in order till the right people get to the positions they deserve.

that right there is the only way Nigeria will attain its full potential but until then, we are just beating around the bush.
Family / Re: Moving Out From Parent's House- Your Experience! by osasp(m): 9:37am On Feb 08, 2011
theres not really an ideal age because different situations lead to different outcomes. I'm currently 21, live alone, study, work and also handle the rent myself (if u live in London you know how expensive it is) but i cant cry to ne1 though can i. some of us here come from comfortable homes with well to do parents that have everything sorted for their kids so they don't feel the pressure to move on (and even when they do, they probably move into a house built by their parents) and there's nothing wrong with that. so as i said, it depends on the situation, one cant really place a finger on it. hope i helped smiley

Romance / Re: What Qualities Makes Ur Girlfriend Outstanding by osasp(m): 4:47am On Dec 12, 2010
mediatrix8:

How to be a Good Girlfriend

Don’t Rush

First of all, take things slowly. Don’t make him rush into things. Let him take his time to introduce you as his girlfriend. Agreed, marriage is a very important part of the relationship, but don’t remind him so on a daily basis. Just go with the flow and let time take its course.

Be Independent

Yes, he is a very important part of your life, but please don’t center your life on him. Have a life of your own, spend sometime with yourself, hang out with friends and attend family functions. Being there for him when he needs you is definitely desired, but don’t keep clinging on to him.

Appreciate

Appreciate him for what he is and don’t be constantly on the look for habits that you can criticize. Don’t try to change him completely. Remember, this is the same man who made you fall in love.

Have a Mind of Your Own

It is not necessary that you should agree to what he says and disagree to what he doesn’t like. Have a mind of you own. Two people, who live together, have a difference of opinion on many issues and it is very natural too. However, please do not oppose him in everything he says.

Space

Remember, both of you are different individuals and have a life beyond each other too. Let him have his share of independence & space in a relationship. Having a night-out with the boys, once in a while, is good for him. Again, too much space is also not too good. After all, both of you are a couple.

Be Cheerful

No guy likes a girl who is a cry baby. Once in a while, all of us get emotional and end up crying, but do not make it a regular feature. Infact, guys like girls who have a good sense of humor. Have the ability to laugh at yourself.

Share His Interests

No, we are not asking you to start lifting his 10 kilo dumbbells. Nonetheless, try to share his interest in cricket, football, or any other area. You can watch a game with him every now and then, trying to understand the game from him. If you don’t overdo it, I’m sure he will love explaining the nuances to you.

Pamper Him

Most of the guys are pampered by their mums and if your guy is in the majority, it is your turn to pamper him. Do small things for him like cleaning his room, getting his laundry washed, cooking his food, etc. It will show how much you care for him & there are all the chances of his responding likewise.

Self-Respect

Guys like girls who hold their ground and do not take crap from anyone. Nobody is asking you to have an inflated ego, but never ever compromise on your self-respect either. He will respect you only if you respect yourself.

Be His Friend

You have moved on from being ‘just friends’ to being a ‘couple’. Still, this does not mean that you will forget the ‘friend part’ of your relationship. Make sure to keep the friendship in the love alive.

Communicate

Your boyfriend is a human being, not a magician, who will get to know your feeling on his own. Whether you are happy, sad or hurt, talk to him! You don’t need to tell him every detail of an incident, but please don’t keep him in the dark either. Never ever stop communicating with him.

Be Expressive

Though guys deny it, they love reading romantic messages, receiving gifts, getting hugs, etc. Please be expressive in a relationship. He knows that you love him, but expressing it will keep the romance in the relationship alive.

Consistency and Patience

This is one thing most of the girls lack. Do not keep shuttling between different moods and emotions. Be consistent in your feelings and moods. Do not jump to conclusion. Be patient and hear him out before saying anything.
aint too many people out there that can do that
girls n guys likewise

Music/Radio / Re: Teflon Don Vs Recovery by osasp(m): 11:39pm On Aug 04, 2010
first off you need to understand that these are two very different artistes.
pound for pound, in my opinion, i think recovery is a better album but it should be worth
noting that rick ross has really upped his spit game but i cant help seeing past through all that talk and knowing he's a very fake guy.
every track in that album is a made up story compared to em's recovery which details the struggles dude went through with drugs and his near death experience. eminem would win anyday not because he is white but because he is a good story teller with issues people can relate to. however i must say i wan't mpressed with the overall production of recovery. i dare say relapse had a better production compared to it because tracks like 'not afraid' quicly loose their steam after a few repeats but with teflon don, from track one to the last, you can tell rozay really took his time selecting these beats. the J.U.S.T.I.C.E league guys really went in on that maybach music 3 and the track with drake (aston marton music). as for rozay, i just laughed at the stories this guy was coming up with. the free masons track was by far the best on the album as it not only features jigga but on it, he clarifies certai issues about him being a free mason. although ross came hard, i couldnt help laughing at the idea of him beng a mason, talking about pyramids and all. that track is up there in the list of best collabos (renegade, bad meets evil, dying to live). all in all, ill give it to eminem for originality and flow, but producton - teflon don

bjmighty:

recovery!! it is still number 1 selling album right now!!!!
as at now, no hes number two but five weeks straight is a very good run, besides, i think it will be going back to number 1 next week
