I used the Audi 80(1.8L) for 6years, it was durable & economical to maintain back then (2002-2008). Asides regular maintenance(oil changes & front brake pads), I only changed the complete Exhaust and fuel pump.

Access to parts might be a challenge now considering the age of that model, but you can always check Itire/Lawanson if you are in Lagos.

Engine has been changed, but the current engine experiences rough idling from cold start, especially in the morning until after about 20mins drive before it stabilizes. Nozzles have been serviced, a set of new spark plugs installed and engine oil changed.

Current codes are P1349 and P1346.

Car is 2003 Corolla with Manual tranny.

A toyota corolla car with knocking sound, is it advisable to change the rods & crankshaft, or replace the engine? Kazeem says replacing rods & crankshaft will not last long, & that replacing the engine is the best solution.

I am particularly worried by the comments of most partners here pertaining the v6. The mpg difference between the V6 and the 2.4L inline 4 variants of this vehicle seems to be only 2-4mpg. How feasible will this be?

Considering the traffic situation in Lagos, V6 cars are not always advisable. Try to register the car on the platform and drive it yourself for two weeks to assess the returns on the car.

Whenever my A/C is on, I notice that the exhaust / smoke / carbon monoxide from other near by vehicles get into my car thru the A/C vent.
Please what can I do to get this corrected because my riders are complaining seriously

Check if the highlighted button in the picture is engaged, it should be switched on as it restricts air into the cabin of the car. Also check your A/C cabin filter located at the back of the glove box if its there, it also regulates air into the cabin.

Alternatively get a competent A/C technician to check the car. Mosbus on Nairaland can be of help too.

These are red flags.
Furthermore V6 engines are not suitable for this business, look for cars with 4plugs. Also get a good mechanic to help inspect Naija used cars.

I dropped some1 at house of assembly, den got another request from same point.
Called rider and she said she isnt in house of assembly,
I should come to d secretariat. Block 1.
I got there. At the parking lot.
Her pick up still shows house of assembly.

I waited like 12mins, no show, if i cancel i wont get paid, she called after 15mins+, that i should come to some other parking lot.
When i tried to, the security men said i was going the wrong way...at the same time she was calling and shouting "where are u"
I got frustrated and confused and had to cancel d trip and find my way out....

You are lucky you didn't pick this kind of person, you saved yourself a lot of headache. People like this are TROUBLE, don't let it bother you.

This is normal when you stay & access your email outside the country for awhile and move back to Naija; the email exchange provider would have observed a change in your IP address and will restrict access to your email.

But if it were the other way round, the moment you are connected to a wifi at the airport abroad, you'll access all your email accounts easily. They might just send an additional mode of authentication to your recovery email to login to your email accounts.

Matrix is an excellent choice.. As a matter of fact ,I wanted to use matrix, but I was impressed with elantra 07 and 03 civic.
And for a tokunbo car, weekly delivery should be not be less than 35k.. Anything less than that you and driver are playing yourself. Make sure the car is in good order. Since the car is high milage, make sure you use full synthetic oil and check the coolant level... don't use water to replace coolant o.. And at the end of the day, just take your time.. It is not an easy business

My car(03 Corolla, manual tranny) makes this sharp "kraaaaa" sound when I rev the pedal hard before changing gear. My kazeem is suggesting opening the engine after he checked the belt/pulley part of the engine.

When I revved the engine myself from the engine bay when car was idling, I noticed that the sound was coming from behind the engine.

Please I need your advice on what could possibly be wrong, I'm avoiding any Kazeem experiment.

Good Morning my peeps in the E-hailing Biz.

Just want to share a bit of my experience with a fleet Mgt company that advertised on this platform, it was not a good experience.

A close relative intended to place his car, a 2006 Corolla up for e-hailing earlier this year; I linked up the relative with Carshopper but we could not reach an agreement.

So we decided to test this fleet mgt company, the car was assessed, repairs made, after about a week the car started working.

From week 1 its been one complain or the other, ranging from fan repairs, linkages, shocks, the car's security and so on. During that period, prior advice from Gazzuzz, The Car, and other investors on this forum kept ringing in my head

At the moment the car's brainbox is said to be damaged, most of the parts earlier changed too are damaged, yet full weekly delivery was only paid for about 4weeks. The rest were spent on repairs.

My observations about the company are:

1)They use an incompetent mechanic, incompetence in terms of the repairs required for E-hailing biz
2)They do not inspect cars given to drivers regularly
3)Their client relationship mgt needs a lot of improvement, I tried contacting them severally to express my dissatisfaction but calls were not responded to, nor returned.

My advice to intending investors, please try to monitor your car/driver directly or alternatively place such car on HP.
