Abeg they should ask Hillary Clinton about the fact that despite the USA producing three times the amount of crude Nigeria produces, they still import refined fuels from Venezuela accompanied by insults from Hugo Chavez. Is that a sign of good leadership in the USA?Its because of people and comments like this that Nigeria will NEVER move forward! |
Is it every banker that works so hard? Do senior management put in the same long hours, have the same hefty target as all bankers? |
because Ribadu was systematically disempowering the southStory!! Be applying your 'balancing act' logic while Nigeria rots! |
A colleague of mine is quite senior in a bank in the UK and looking to relocate to Nigeria. He has extensive experience in IT delivery and architecture (over 12 years), lots of certifications and an MSc in Information techonology (London). In the last few years, he's been significantly exposed to Finance (Corporate finance, operational and Financial risk) and now has an MBA from a top UK uni in Finance and strategy. He's seeking a senior role in Nigeria and asked me earlier today if he should pitch for a senior IT management role (like head of IT, director of IT etc) or a finance role (Head of Risk, director of risk etc, ). He's acquired substantial certifications also and has asked which of these have the best prospects/opportunities in Nigeria as things stand today. He enjoys both roles equally. How would you advise? |
The day Ribadu is sworn in as President is the day I will finally pack my bags, AND RETURN TO NIGERIA! To be an active participant and witness to the much desired social, political and economic revolution that'll follow. |
Methinks he should have left one or two officers for the EFCC boss; that job could be risky if the boss decides to do her job. It's not his decision to make. That decision was taken by powers above (FEC) way back in march. He's only the enforcer. This is a good start. It'll be the first piece of good news out of nigeria in over 1 year if he can pull it off. |
Been saying it for ever. OBJ should have been allowed a 3rd term. The people that fought hardest against 3rd term were criminal politicians and 419 practitioners (who btw have all now re-located to Nigeria under Yar and Farida knowing nothing will happen to them). OBJ was like a moving train, particularly in his last two years in office, and especially with his war on curruption. Ibori, Odilli, Igbinedion (along with most ex govs), Alams, Bode George, Anenih (and maybe even IBB) would be in jail now for sure. If only, , only if, ![]() |
This problem requires a military solution. The military and security services should do the job the're there to do (besides planning coups off course). Occupy the delta region permanently and deploy all the SSS, DMI etc to the region. |
Ribadu deserves all the praise in the world. I miss those days man. It gave us all so much hope for the future. |
Story!! Another sign of his weak, reactionary leadership style. Please back OBJ any day!!!! |
I said it then, and I say it now again. I wish OBJ got his 3rd term. With the vigour in his economic team, the strong fist he deployed against curruption and intolorance for militant activity, we would have been much much better off today. Weak leadership is the bane of our country today, Oh how I wish. |
We welcome the change of heart. Ribadu certainly overachieved and is a hero in my books. We are now seeing the effects of the departure of good, effective leadership in our nation. It seems inevitable that Yaradua's "Rule of Law", "7 point agenda" and overall complicity in the war on curruption, cluelessness and weakness has now driven our nation to the brink, |
I find this tribal thing so so annoying. Yoruba's keeping to themselves like a fiefdom, Igbo's doing their bit judging every other tribe except theirs, And all this coming from our generation, What hope is there for the future for our dear country, |
Does Nigeria have a police force? Rumour is that what some call police are armed robbers in uniform. How true? |
Good ridance abeg! My question is, when will this treatment be metted out to the currupt politicians in our country. Abi isn't it about time? In the real world, however, where a government has a population to protect, decisions makers are entitled to be pragmaticI'm in complete agreement with this. My only problem is the contradiction. Why is 'Rule of law' being applied to currupt governors and Yar's cronnies? Curruption is no less a threat to Nigeria than this militancy. |
There's quite a lot of conspiracy theories flying around, but these jihadist were simply killed on orders from above. I see no problem with that. He would simply have become another Okah in detention, released back into the community in no time, Even the American's do it (Iraq, Afganistan) through a well orchestrated programme of militant assasinations / executions. My own is that similar drastic measures be metted out to Ibori, IBB and and all past thieving governors, |
Killed in Custody? what a contradiction! Is this not the same goverment desperately shielding currupt politicians like Ibori and other ex-governors under the contrived 'rule of law?' Abi is rule of law now selective? While I understand the use of extreme measures against extremists like these (and no doubt the president would have been aware of the assasinationation plot), the same approach should be used to deal with the cancer called curruption in Nigeria, which even more than islamic fundamentalism, will be the eventual undoing of our nation. With every passing day, my disdain for this goverment grows. ![]() |
I'm convinced the poster is very disgruntled indeed! |
This post lasts credibility in it's entirety. |
I'd rather have some justice, than no Justice at all. All the 419 boys that exiled in London during Ribadu's tenure have now relocated BACK to Nigeria under Waziri's watch, living large under Yar's Ruse of law as the country slowly plunges into Anarchy. I know which of the two of the EFCC's boses gets my respect and it's definitely not Waziri. I'm 100% convinced they fought against OBJ's third term bid not because they loved Nigeria that much, but for fear of what would happen if OBJ got 4 more years in power. I'm so convinced Odilli, Ibori, Igbenedion and many senators and most ex governors would be in jail today. How so nice that would that have been? |
Old wine, new bottle. No change should be expected other than his wife graduating to bigger contracts. Whats needed is someone from outside of the system, or a change agent like Ribadu. |
All this one na storryy. What we need is Ribadu back in the hot seat at the EFCC. Desperately. Or even better as IG of police. Nigerian corruption needs IRON FIST. Not this nonsense being projected by Yar is as rule of ruse. Nothing, I repeat, nothing will come out of this disclosure. It'll sooner be brushed under the AG's dollar filled mattress. |
That's why they fought tooth and nail to get rid of Ribadu before he bacame police IG by accident, all under the guise of asset declaration. And our illiterate, backward, compromised Press and population sit idly by like lizards in the sun. For nigeria to change, junior, credible personalities must be promoted rapidly through the system, or brought in from outside of the system to implement radical systematic overhaul. Ribadu as IG would have locked up all current and past IG's, DIG,s and AIG's. That is what they all fared. In the absence of people like him and activity of our compromised Athorney General, Nigeria is no more than a thieves paradise. |
I'm really finding it hard to understand how these thieves are constantly glorified with these titles, ? With the exception of a very few (like Fashola etc), I find it hard to conform to this neferous standard, what do you think? |
The focus should be on making our existing forces more professional and operational. So far they've been most effective at harrassing innocent civilians and planning coups, only to fail woefully when it really matters! Additional forces formation should be one for the very distant future after the issues of basic security and power supply have been comprehensively addressed. |
That not the only problem with John Agbai's proposition. Language construct unlikely to instill much confidence in even the most undescerning investor |
Akpogun et all, Any chance you can send to goodlife101@hotmail.co.uk. U do well. |
Omoba, Wick, Please send this all important stuff to goodlife101@hotmail.co.uk. Thanks guys, |
What is driving COSTAIN?! Or am I missing something? Any particular news driving this stock? |
issued sale mandate for my UBA and FCMBI'm one for patience, but I think this is a smart move. If you put the proceeds into a stock like CI Leasing or even NWICable, you'll make 25%, while UBA's still doing it's +-2 giration. Sold a good chunk of my UBA and Diamond bank last week and no regrets. |
How much is the rental of a post office box? Is it safe?Opened mine a couple of years ago, and so far so good. It's convenient and safe so far. You also get post a lot quicker than residential addresses. |
You fit commot equity if you get property for LondonYes, actually considering this option, thankfully, the Real estate boom in the UK did not pass me by, I for dey bite finger now, But someone, it just seems easier to make this type of $ out there, |
