Hi everyone. Thank you all for the good work. I wanted to ask if it is possible to get an Mpower loan to cover tuition and get your Employer to cover proof of funds.
Thanks in advance for your response.

Yes, it's possible just be smart about it at the embassy.

Please I need clarifications on this statement of account.
A politician is sponsoring me. The politician is also my Boss at work. A house of Rep member.

Should i fund my mum's account or use his statement?

Please.
Firstly, is the politician, your boss, the owner of the company?
If yes, then you can state that your employer is your sponsor and that's fine.

If No, then I suggest you use your parent.

However, If your parent will be sponsoring you, you should be ready to prove that he/she has a job or business that generates such an amount you are transferring to their account.

One of the important questions at the embassy is what does your sponsor do? This is just to know if the kind of job or business you stated could generate such an amount of money. If the VO detects any discrepancy you stand a chance to be denied.

Best of Luck.

Wow! Thanks for the update Osidowu, I was actually thinking I need to wait till 60 days to the time before I can request for an emergency date. Pls should I go ahead and schedule even if it’s in September I see then I request for an emergency date? Or better still guide me on how your friend did his own. Thanks boss. I appreciate

Please go ahead. Schedule any date you see in September then request for an EA immediately.

You will find the EA email format somewhere in the thread and the following document attachment.

Good luck.

I thought EA was 60 days to school resumption?

Yes, but on paper. Reality could come in different shades and colors.

Sometimes following all the rules in the book could lead you nowhere. This US journey na risk, packaging and strategy.

There is a system that generates and approves all these requests and it can approve or deny your request anytime.

You can wait till April or May and still not get your EA approved. It's a possibility. Shoot your shot early enough when there is still room to reshoot.

Hi guys, it seems getting a date for an interview is like passing through the eyes of a needle. My program starts in May and the earliest date I’ve seen is in September. Can we request for an emergency appointment at this point in time? Thanks mate

Your Program starts in May and you are still looking for normal date.
You can request for an EA and get a favorable date. The date could be in this month sef.

My friend's program also starts in May, he requested for EA on Jan23 and got an interview date for Jan27.

I know there is a standard procedure but sometimes it's not the case. Don't delay yourself.

Some immigration offices ask you to submit your old/expired passports after a renewal. What do you do in that case?

I haven't heard or seen anyone being asked to submit his/her expired passport before being issued a new one.
Is this a personal experience?

I need urgent help, please!
I don't have my expired passport anymore. Will this be an issue at the embassy

Please avoid unnecessary issues that can destabilize you at the embassy. Your Passport, just like any official document, is the government's property. Once it's stolen, misplaced, or for whatever reason, you don't have it anymore please go and get a police report and or an affidavit and take it to the embassy on your interview day

These oyibo people do not trust any kind of excuse or explanation. Avoid being delayed or sent back. Go with an affidavit and you will be let off the hook.
This is my 2 cents.
Thank you.

Since you can’t find it anymore, I’m sure there’s NOTHING you can do about it, and sure you would have to be there for your interview. Of, go ahead and face what they would say. Highest would be delaying you by asking the reason why “this and/or that” but trust me, they can’t stop you from the interview.

Goodluck Champ!

Please ooo someone should recommend a hotel that is not far from the abuja embassy and affordable. Pls

Try to locate OPTIMA HOTEL. it's about 5min walk to the US embassy in Abuja.

I wish I can perfectly give you directions on how to locate the hotel. But just keep asking around.
The least room there is 8k.

Wish you good luck.

I hope you are not mistaking Northeastern for Northwestern [Kellogg Business School]? Though NE still has it better than VT.

Not at all. I am talking about Northeastern University.

Happy Sunday brethren. I have asked countless questions for clarifications but got no reply. I plead someone answers me this time around.
I base abroad as a Master's student and I just started my first semester before I got an Admission to studying MBA in one of the schools in the USA. The Master's I am doing here is not in my best interest and I need to drop and go for the US MBA , where I have more prospects. I am at lost on what defense I should give to the VO when asked why am living my present studies to the one in US. I have a work here also which the company is standing as my Affidavit of support. The Company is expanding to Nigeria where I will take up a Managerial position after my MBA, and that is one of the reasons I am going for the MBA instead of continuing the present studies. Please I need helpful advice from anyone who can .

Hi.
What advice do you need?
I can see you have a strong case already. You have demonstrated your ties back to Nigeria and I think you are good to go.

You just need to back it up well with proof and make your case as convincing as possible through expression.

Good luck!

Good evening dear. Its not a pre-recorded interview but a zoom interview with the admission committee. So I need interview tips to scale through.

If that's the case, then you should be fine with my earlier stated tips.
Just make sure you are able to convince them that you are abreast of the program structure and you have the requisite knowledge and skills to excel in it.

Best luck!

Good afternoon dear.I applied to Northeastern for an MBA as well and have my interview coming up this week. Please I would like to ask you some questions , here is my mail.

kejuempower@gmail.com

Thanks.

Don't fright, the interview is pre-recorded. It is just to meet you in person and assess how well you can communicate and think on your feet.

You will be given a few seconds to think before responding to each question. ( of course not ample time to think thou).
You could be asked the following questions relating to how you heard about Northeastern, specific questions about the MBA program course module just to know how well you have done your research.

Also, prepare for questions around your Leadership role experience, working in a team, and communication skills such as essay writing as these are core requirements for the program.
Best of Luck!

Greeting to everyone.

Please I would like to know if I can be granted admission for business/data analytics in US despite studying Chemical Engr as undergraduate and I have been working in a bank for 9 years. I have also done my MBA in finance and investment. However, I really want to develop my career in analytics.

Please help advise also Schools that can give me admission and funding. Thank you.

Firstly, You can get admitted into any course from any University if you meet the requirements. Regardless of your undergrad degree.

Secondly, most schools give admission with some form of merit based scholarship. Depending on the school or your application strength the funding could be either insignificant or significant.

Hence, You can get much more funding or fully funded if you submit a stronger or more competitive application by submitting a good GRE result.
Good luck.

Greetings!

My sponsor has already transferred my COA into my bank account, and an affidavit of financial support has been supplied.

Is it still essential for me to produce a bank statement from my sponsor? as I have complete control over the finances.

I'm worried because having the money in her account appears to be a red flag to me because the COA would be exactly what's in her account, and folks have always advised that the sponsor's account should have roughly 3X the COA.

Please Help

UmmZayd TWoods texrem Fairheart Sharwama Dreambound Brown2Green Predstan Naira0 NigPatriot Zeelady Etherealbeing Johnolukolade Walspring

First, is it indicated that you would be 'self sponsord' on your I-20? If yes, then you are good to go. Because you need to be consistent.

However, you don't need to have the fund in your account if you arent sponsoring yourself. Anyone can sponsor your education provided you have a good relationship and necessary backing from whoever it is.

Secondly, the 3x COA account statement isn't a compulsory requirement although it is nice to have. I have seen people get their visa approved with exact COA on their statement of account.
But if you have 3x of your COA to present why not? Go get your Visa!

Please I need your advice.

I have an offer from Northeastern (MBA), the cost is $85k and received $10,000 funding, deposit fee is due late February.
I have another offer from Virginia Tech (MBA), cost is $50K and the grad coord told me GA positions which cover 50% of tuition with stipends are available and the selection list will be out July, this is also when school resumes. Decided to go with VTech

I want to start my visa application now with a personal fund of $15k and I use mpower loan for the balance, or wait till July for the GA positions list then start the visa application, I heard funding/GA helps with the visa interview.

PS, I don't have any rich uncle or aunty I can get a SOA from.

Please advice. Thank you...

My advice isn't from an experience perspective but from personal research and pro advices on this platform and others.

First, I think Northeastern University is a better school for MBA. I understand your decision is based on cost which is valid.
But since you are taking the Mpower loan route, I am sure they fund Northeastern MBA also, why not get a better education with high employment prospect.

Let me tell you about a few iceing on cake about Northeastern.
1) you can also get a GA position at Northeastern when you resume. (Although just like every school it's highly competitive and not guaranteed) However, there are a lot more opportunities on campus to make money for graduate students.
2) You could make about 70-80% of your total cost of education while studying through their one-of-kind corporate residency program. You could extend your co-op to up to 12months if you want to make more money.
3) Northeastern has a huge following and partnership with top recruiting companies.
4) Be rest assure you will land a good job with an MBA at Northeastern University of course with hard work.

Secondly, your second offer at Virginia looks good but July is a long wait bro. If I were you, I would tidy up my loan application and start my visa application. No time bro!.
