PoliticsNo Amount Of Bribe Would Make Us Impeach AMEACHI by Osiris211(op): 5:54pm On Jun 16, 2013
No amount of money would make us impeach Rivers State Governor
Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the House of Assembly insistedyesterday.

The Assembly also reaffirmed its unalloyed support to the leadership of the governor, saying that Amaechi had made the state proud with the dividends of democracy.

Two lawnakers made the declaration yesterday at the rally organised by Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality at the headquarters of Port Harcourt City Council in the state capital.

One of the legislators, who spoke on the occasion, Azubike Wanjoku, advised those plotting to impeach the governor to use the money intended to bribe the lawmakers to construct the East-West Road. Wanjoku, representing Ikwerre constituency, who is one of the 27 pro-Amaechi lawmakers, stated that the governor’s detractors were opposed to good governance.

“Nobody can impeach Governor Amaechi. Those who want to bribe
the Assembly should use the money to put East-West Road in
order. We can’t be bought over,” he said. He warned that nothing should happen to the governor and nobody should force Ikwerre youths on the road, pointing out that the state had enjoyed peace since Amaechi’s emergence as governor.

Also, Victoria Nyeche, representing Phalga constituency I, said:
“Governor Amaechi had transformed the state, infrastructural
development and imparted on the lives of Rivers people.” She noted
that the attacks on the governor were unwarranted, adding that the
Assembly would rally round him.

Meanwhile, the people of Ikwerre had vowed that Amaechi would
not be disgraced out of office, but complete his second term in
2015. Speaking under the aegis of Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality, they
stressed that the governor had not committed any offence to
deserve the barrage of criticism and suspension from the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP).

They said that Amaechi, who is an Ikwerre native, was being
persecuted because of his background and his stand to defend his
oath of office to protect the rights of Rivers people in general.
In a communique they issued yesterday which was signed by the
President-General of Ogbakor Ikwerre Worldwide, Prof. Augustine
Onyeazu, who is the former deputy governor of old Rivers State, Eze
(Dr.) Frank Eke and the lawmaker representing Emuhuo/Ikwerre
federal costituency, Chief Andrew Uchendu, the people pledged their
unreserved support and loyalty to both President Goodluck
Jonathan and the governor.

“We condemn in unequivocal terms the unwarranted attacks and
campaign of calumny by Fifth Columnists against the governor of
Rivers State. We call on all true sons and daughters of Ikwerreland
to rally round the governor of Rivers State in the odious task of
running the affairs of the state.”

They also urged the security operatives, especially the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mbu Joseph Mbu, to ensure the security of lives and .property. The people claimed that there had been an upsurge in kidnappings in the state for the past one month

They are brave yet the Hausa terrorist always attack catholic churches which is predominantly Ibos at any slight provocations without any reprisals. They are brave and keep burying their love ones like rats.

Do you blame him? Their genetic makeup is to be boasting and beating empty chest.

Before civil war Ojukwu claimed to have the most powerful military in Africa, only for the strongest military be defeated by a civilian. Fool.

Do you know how many northern and south western military personnel are presently in south-south? 7 out of every solider you see in south-south is either from north or south west. only a goat like you will be thinking there will any movement of forces.

Goto to any military barracks in Delta, PH, Beyelsa, Akwa Ibom and take the inventory of the enemies within your house alone.
